Showing Against my Trainer? A horse Show Vlog! Day 274 (10/03/20) 

Wait I’m confused in the last blog u said “did storm buck gabby into a puddle” at the very end is there more show vlogs?

I love that even though Brandon was showing too, he made sure both girls where set up for the best day and that they where set up for success. The support you have from both trainers is amazing, I kind of wish I could have a lesson with them even though im in the uk. Well done girls you did amazing as always. x

Laura - helpful hint - if you can pack the trailer the night before or if it's two days, leave the stuff in the trailer if saves on what you have to do before you load up and drive away. My family and i would always have a chat when I brought my numbers back, it's very important LOL and dictates how you do for the day!!! Also when you get there early you get the pick of the parking spots so you can be close or more away from people. Laura = I give you major props for all that do you do to help the girls, braiding, helping tidy the horses up, encouraging while Sophie is in the ring. You are doing so much AND i liked seeing sam in the videos this week. He's got such a chill and friendly presence it's lovely. Derby/Medal/Classic/Stake classes usually have an element where you ride in the ring, ride to another area and do some jumps and then come back into the ring and finish off over a couple of fences to finish. When going through the alley or 'tunnel' to the other area make sure you keep cantering. Why don't you like spurs Laura? Does Gabby really need spurs with chino since he's been going forward lately? Gabby should work on a more quiet leg while wearing spurs as she's using them every stride.

Well, Gabby still looks pretty clean, so I guess Storm let her stay on his back. Lol. Storm does look at everything in his surroundings. He's like a Sergeant sizing up everything b4 he lets his men off the trailer.😁

I’ve actually showed against my trainer before and I beat her in every class except each😂it’s really fun but nerve wracking

Gabby and Sophia did amazing!!!! So proud of both of them.😆😆😆 I was supposed to have a show today but it was unfortunately postponed to next weekend due to weather. On the bright side, I have more time to practice because the horse I ride is still kind of new to me.

I love dappled horses. They have extensions for horses’ tails? and manes? lol! The foliage looked beautiful! Chino and Gabby looked so well together. I was surprised to hear that Brandon was competing in the same show as the girls. I never had my own horse so I would show school horses which was fine. I had favorites and always seemed to ride them in the shows. I am glad that the girls did well and those boys are sweethearts. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Lol that dapple comment had me giggling, they basically follow vein patterns which is amazing, like a leaf! You should look up radar and heat seaking images of horses dapples, its super neat!

It is ok if you mess up or fall in a show because in the full end it's just for fun! I have falling before and went back out and one!

I love the horses blankets! Is Storms blanket pink or orange? My favorite numbers are 2 and 7. When Laura said "we are either going to the hospital or" 🤣😁 I have a question. How come Gabby is using spurs on Chino? I thought she just used them for Storm? When you said Chino was jumping 2'6'' I was like whoaa. Chino is already jumping that high with that course??!! Up at 5 and back home at 12. those are some action pa ked hours. But shows are worth it. There fun and you learn new things each time!😁

Dapples are there because of good blood flow/circulation so you want your horses to have dapples:)

I honestly want to take my horse out and ride trails and actually camp with them and do cross country, although my horse and myself are not jumpers, it would be a great bonding experience especially now that she is boarded at my aunties.

i jumpt smal straw bales that was fun. friday i jumpt a smal tree strunk an i loved it. i whant to jump a smal oxer.

Everytime we leave a show my daughter has to tell me 3 things that were great and 3 things she needs to work on. We've been doing this since she was 11 and she is now 23.

Once 3 friends and I loaded 4 horses and at one point had a Chinese Fire Drill, had to unload stuck in field 🤤🤤. All ended well. Number 4 was my favorite number. TAKE CARE Susan

Finn’s dapples are gorgeous 😊 I had a friend who used to use a fake tail on her horse in dressage competitions, it really added to the overall picture, such a difference, Storm looked great with it 👍 Looked like a beautiful place for a show and at least you weren’t in a dust bowl this time 🤣 You’re right Laura, each event brings a new learning opportunity and experience, let’s hope you can get out and about to some more this winter 😊
