FNAF’s community is full of jokes and memes, cosplays and fanfics. But when you really step back and view the games objectively, it’s pretty disturbing. The VHS series really illustrates just HOW disturbing the murders, hauntings and deaths are.

@@garrettviewegh677 as a new fan, I don't focus on the jokes and memes. Im not very into fnaf memes unless a. it makes fun of William and b. (perhaps and only maybe) if it's security breach memes since the newer chapter of fnaf doesn't strike or impact as much as 1-7 does, even if it also has brutal lore. The entire series as a whole is packed to the brim of the horrors of restless pain and misery, perhaps there wouldn't be as many memes if it wasn't fiction.

@@Madison-iw8ixyeah, tbf it's pretty fascinating. This happens all the time with a lot of fandoms. Dark stories usually has fans creating a lot of jokes, clinging to that litlle happiness that happens in the story like AOT and CSM cause death happens a lot. This usually has Actors AU I noticed. Fans of lighthearted stories on the otherhand craves the little angst sprinkled in the story, probably to spice things up. Hetalia fans loves the historical aus or stuff that deals with how being immortal is like hence it tends to be dark. Both kind of stories has these kind of fans but you'll notice that the majority creates content opposite of that, like FNAF,which is dark, but most of the fans has jokes about it.

Honestly, mad props to Tim for coming on and agreeing to play through the game on camera. I think people often underestimate how daunting it can be to put yourself out there and step out of your element, so it's cool that he let himself be placed in an awkward position.

I recently had to explain the absolute bare bones of FNAF to a friend in about a minute. So I told her that it was about a serial killer who killed kids in a pizzeria and stuffed them into the pizzeria's animatronic mascots, and the animatronics get possessed by the spirits of the dead kids, and the serial killer's son goes around trying to right his father's wrongdoings. Oh, and that there's exotic butters, super strange anime cutscenes, and robot kids who don't know they're robots.

I tried to explain the FNaF lore to a friend once over lunch. After about an hour of me sounding more and more like a lunatic and her being more and more confused, we left the table, only for me to realize that I had left out everything about FNaF VR, so a few minutes later I texted her “Also the main villain uploaded his consciousness into a VR game and lives on as an AI” with no context and her only response was “?!!?!”. Man, I love this franchise 😂

@@tonyf4991 Well the books are cannon. They've been confirmed to be cannon, but they exist in a different continuity. Meaning that if it happens in the books it doesn't necessarily happen in the games, but if it happens in the books it COULD happen in the games. And especially with the new books they've always used them to help communicate big plot points that we haven't caught yet

Being relatively new to FNaF, I know exactly how Tim feels. I didn't get into FNaF until Security Breach came out. I got really interested in the lore and that's actually how I found Game Theory. I literally watched every FNaF theory video on Game Theory one week in March 2022 lol because once you start, there's no turning back

watched this while recovering from my wisdom tooth surgery this morning. I put on my new cozy merch, and snuggled up with my new Game Theory Dream wave blanket, and a large Chocolate frosty. Thank you MatPat for temporarily distracting me from my pain. The Theory channels (or as I like to call them, the TheoryVerse) make the internet a little bit better with each video. Thanks for being wholesome, smart, and funny, and informative. We love you guys. PS please bring back Steph as couch mate or change the intro. I would like to recommend playing a nancy drew game. Especialy now that they are making a small arg for their next game. They are detective point and click games. I would specifically recommend the ghost of Thornton hall. It's an amazing game, and I would love to see your reaction to it.😊
