I've heard this more than a hundred times now and it's still near the top of my Dimash list - and that's saying something. Loved what you both had to say about this performance.

Your reactions are precious. My first night with Dimash was 5 plus hours maybe 3 songs, but mostly 2. .. I only started a few days ago. I am not really listening to him as much as to commentators. I think a few pianos I heard need retuning, but I am starting to hear more what they are saying. I am barely able to read music sheets, I barely know scales. But I can pick out more now than before. I knew he sang women parts the first nite, did not know about Whistling, but in 3 or 4 days I learned more about music then the last 71 years. Myself, I can barely talk. But Oh boy he can Sing.

Dimash was 22 years old then, he’s twenty 26 now. This was a competition in China that took 4 months to complete. This was the first time they allowed a foreigner in this competition. It was televised. He was going up against some of China’s best professional singers. The reason he didn’t win was because of a couple of American songs that he sang that were not very good. He sang a few others that were great. He came in second place. He has perfect pitch. He’s loved music all of his life and began classical training at five years old. His whole family sings. His mother is an opera singer, his dad is a singer and producer. Some of his idols are Michael Jackson, Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli,, and Celine Dion. You can see a lot of Michael’s moves when he sings songs with a beat to them. He was supposed to come to America this year to study Jazz and some other musical things because he’s finishing his doctorate in music. He is a very humble young man, who loves his country and he’s very religious, he’s a Muslim. He’s from Kazakhstan. Was raised by his grandparent, according to The culture of his country, the grandparents raise the fist born son. They all live in the same house, together. Dimash has a beautiful voice and he sings in what some people call classic-pop genre. His fans are called Dears. He has fans from all over the world. Hey just some advice for your reactions altogether. While it is good to pause at times for whatever reason you need to do it... It is also good to rewind a few seconds when your coming back in so that you don't miss good moments ... Also because sometimes you pause right before a big note and it's good to let the video build into it to make for a better reaction....
