Shrek 3 Movie Group Reaction 

Honestly, Prince Charming is a great villain by circumstance. He was pampered and spoiled by his mother to grow up into a coward crybaby with MANY issues, but when he realized his rock bottom he takes it upon himself to do something about it instead of falling further down the spiral. I hate his personality but he has more backbone than people give him credit for.

Even though the rest of the movie is a bit of a train wreck it still has one of the funniest jokes ever made. “Well SOMEBODY better be dying” “I’m dYiNg”

Shrek 2 is the best in my opinion but Shrek 3 is a guilty pleasure

The Queen and the Princesses going badass with their breakout and attack is probably my favorite part of this movie, especially Snow White's attack song with the woodland creatures

I love that Pinocchio is really good with indirect-negatives because he can't lie. It really makes sense because in this world he presumably isn't gonna get turned into a real boy, so he's gotta figure out how to live as a puppet😂😂😂

The band SmashMouth was signed for the first two films, all other songs in those films were covers preformed specifically for that soundtrack. After the 2nd film did so well, SmashMouth asked for a small bump in their pay. The studio declined, stating “The actors made the 2nd film great, not the music.” SmashMouth, and just about every other performer backed away from the film. They did have an end scene that had music involved, Justin’s agent had not been made aware before recording. He is quoted as stating “The actors will make the 3rd film, just like they made the 2nd film, I will not be performing on their soundtrack.”

The reason Andrew Adamson wasn't directing Shrek the Third but was just the producer was because he was busy filming The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, which was released the year after Shrek the Third.

I loved it when Shrek said it’s Shreking time and Shreked all over their faces

I like how Prince Charming death is the same as the end of his play at the beginning

I'll give Charming this, he is pretty good at giving speeches to get the villains on his side.

Arthur is not from King Harold's line if im correct. He's from queen Lilian's line because she's the one who has true royal blood since harold is a frog.

This film is pretty darn good as a follow up to 2. Having Shrek be scared of being a bad father because of his own dad is a really interesting plot point for a kids film.

Shrek the Third is still my least favorite Shrek movie but I personally think it is NOWHERE near as bad as people say it is It doess go a bit overkill with the referential humor and the plot is not as good, there are a lot of decent jokes and Charming is still entertaining

You talk about the group being split up but they were split up for a lot of Shrek 2 as well. Shrek had his whole journey in the woods, met Puss, infiltrated Fairy Godmother's factory, lived some life as a human trying to reunite with Fiona, and then leaving her with Charming, then the police chase and then finally after the Gingerbread storming the castle finally they are in the same room. That's like half the movie at least.

My favorite part is when Arthur reveals "Shrek is love, Shrek is life." And proceeds to show everyone it's true meaning. *Nods*

There's a Christmas special and a Halloween special that takes place after this one, and they're actually really good! You guys should react to those when you get the chance.

My only gripe is we get such a buildup to an epic fight scene and then Artie comes in with a big speech. I know that was the point, but I would have loved to see a group fight.

32:20 I mean, everyone mentions Far Far Away Idol from Shrek 2, but I never see/hear anybody mention the Shrek Karaoke from the first movie. That one is pretty good too.

Actually i feel sorry for charming, i mean his mother was prepearing him to marry fiona from his childhood, and fiona too(due to her diary she didn't even imagine other way) but she choosed another way herself, while he was forced to abandon the only thing he was preparing his whole life. His mother did everything for him, and he only was a good son. But after his future was taken away from him and the only person he loved died he had nothing and had to humiliate himself every night to have somewhere to sleep and something to eat. It's easy to see where his evil side csme from

While I don't like this film, and to be fair it overall could be considered okay on an objective bases, I will admit... The whole scene of Shrek roasting or ruining Charming's play near the end is good. Shrek won't go down without throwing some sass around, and I like the little jabs he makes at Charming's expense and also how he gets the crowd to laugh. That whole scene is fun and entertaining.

If you missed it, the Queen starts humming (I think) “my favorite things” from sound of music because it’s Julie Andrews!!

The upset of Justin not singing in the movie is flashing me back to watching The Lorax and realizing they cast Zac Efron and Taylor Swift and then didn't give them songs. XD It is a strange choice, but maybe there were issues behind the scenes? I agree that it's not nearly as strong as the first two but still not too bad.

Shrek 3 is alright, but it isn’t on the level of greatness that the other three are on. I personally really love Shrek 4 and I’m super excited to see you guys react to it!

Even as a kid, I hated how Harold's death was treated like a joke. Yeah, the series had some jokes during serious moments but Harold's coffin being a shoe box? C'mon.

Shrek has the best plot, Shrek 2 best music, Shrek 3 (arguably) best comedy.

I like the idea of Artie being the villain of the story. He could been a character who thought that he was the rightful heir to the throne, unlike Fiona, or he could have thought that the line of succession was reserved for only humans and not the magical creatures, so Fiona becoming an ogre permanently, marrying an ogre, and later becoming the mother of ogre children means that her branch of the family has relinquished the throne. Maybe it could have even been a law that only humans can inherit the throne (which is how Arthur becomes the only eligible heir), and if you need a reason why for why Shrek and Fiona were acting in King Harold's place, you could say that the throne comes from Lillian's side of the family, but she's taking care of her husband, so Shrek and Fiona are acting in HER stead, but neither of them are actually the rulers of Far Far Away until after the king dies. In fact, maybe Arthur's main introduction in the story might be during Fiona's coronation and that's when he reveals the law that ruins Fiona's chances of becoming queen. Anyway, that's how I'd think the movie should start. I don't know where to go from here, except that Shrek and Fiona should become the rulers of Far Far Away and Fiona should reveal her pregnancy at the end of the movie. So, if you have any more ideas on where to take the story, reply to this comment.

There is a theory that Donkey was one of the kids in Pinocchio that was turned into a donkey. It makes sense.

Sherk the 3rd is genuinely my favorite of the bunch and I will not be bullied. I find this film hilarious.

i still dont get the hate towards this movie. the humor(especially the jokes that adults would love) was on par with the previous ones. and the story was handling father-son elements as good as previous movie's romance. and not many will admit but charming was an excellent villain. not as a character maybe, his motivation, his competence and the fact that he casually murdered 2 people in a rehersal was truly making outshine as a villain.

And then almost 17 years later we ain’t heard from Arthur🤦🏽‍♂️

I wonder what these films would’ve been if Chris Farley was still around. Shrek’s role was originally for him and apparently recorded a majority of the film before dying.

I recall this movie at the time got heat for kind of mis-directing with tv spot trailers and marketing of the Ogre babies being in the movie but they only appear at the end. Kind of like what the Amazing Spider-Man 2 did of featuring Rhino heavily in trailers.

I think I know what Boom is talking about at the end about the Swamp Stories. At some point in my childhood I remember getting something as a gift that included a free Shrek CD-Rom. It ran on the computer and was just a series of short scary stories. I only remember the one with Farquaad’s ghost :)

Shrek the third is still making me laugh. They made meme of Shrek's screaming, King Harold's funeral made me cry, the princesses knows how to fight and the songs are great 🎵🎵🎵😢😢😢🤣🤣🤣

I like how Prince Charming found a job, doing some honest work after his mom died and then those fairy-tale jags track him down and harass him until he broke. Gingy even stated he hates dinner, so why are friends of the stand in King watching a budget play in some hole? Apparently just to be really rude to a man in mourning.

You guys are probably gonna love the fact that Justin Timberlake was in this film as Arthur, Fiona's cousin. Lol.

I love that they cast Eric Idle (from Monty Python And The Holy Grail) as Merlin the wizard. And the prolonged death bit is a semi-nod to Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi [in my mind] (the scene where Yoda dies while talking to Luke)

One of the things that always bothered me in this one was how easily they took the castle, I know epic siege is not the point of the story but in the second movie, they were so prepared for a siege of anything that they had barrels of milk in case a giant cookie attacked.

That plot idea of Shrek trying to be the king, failing but then doing good as he defends the kingdom against a villainous Artie, trying to reclaim the throne is... actually way better than what we got. I really want to see that, now.

Don’t worry the fourth movie is a lot better than the third one, and also if you want to see Justin Timberlake sing in a Dreamworks movie then just watch Trolls.

Now you need to watch Shrek forever after

Now that Boom mentioned r34, I'm just thinking about Shrek is Love. That would be a cursed reaction that I would love to see.

Even though this movie was the worst of the series, my favorite part about it is how afraid and nervous Shrek was of being a father and yet he was complete dad material in the nightmare sequence: doing his best to care for the baby, saving the kid from harm, and trying hard to balance his attention between all of them.

Boom short-circuited and had to restart after searching that X rated shrek content 😂 God-dangit Boom I did a spit take and nearly choked on my water at your crate training comment!!!! 🤣

No joke, when me and my dad first watched this, it was rated for "swashbuckling action"

For me; I felt 3 and 4 didn't need to happen. 1 and 2 were perfect; the other two were cash grabs only. I'm very glad Kung-fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon were so much better series.

Bro, since i was little I really liked Shrek 3, it's a good movie. Of course, when compared, and this is inevitable, to the first two films, it is a little weak, but it is still fun, very visually beautiful and with memorable scenes. Great reaction!

This one isn't terrible just with how perfect of a sequel 2 was this sequel just couldn't live up to it. Its fun but not on par with 2. 4 is pretty good tho I really enjoy 4

For me, its: 2, (1 and 4), 3 For 1 and 4 it really depends on my mood. I feel like both 3 and 4 don't have the same magic that the first 2 had, but 4 had some concepts that are really appealing to me, and I think the story is more interesting.

Not to be the “well um actually” guy but alot of the songs on the soundtrack from the first 2 movies were not the original versions either. Most were covers of classic rock and pop songs with a few exceptions. But I think the reason the soundtracks for 3 and 4 seem so lacking may have something to do with the fact that when the first 2 movies were made Dreamworks actually had their own record label. In 2003 the label sold to universal records who ultimately shut it down. It’s also a different director so. Who knows.

If you ignore shrek 3, the shrek movies make a pretty good trilogy.

My personal Shrek ranking has always been: 2, 4, 1, 3. Shrek Forever After will for sure be more satisfying. It has a different feel compared to the others in a good way, the villain is hand in hand with Fairy Godmother for me, and I think the story is genuinely the best of the 4 in my personal opinion. It is the perfect ending point to me, can't wait to see it.

Yknow its funny, youd think shrek wouldnt be able to become a king by royal law, but if u think about it since he owns the swamp legally from Shrek 1 hes technically a lord. Once he married fiona he became king of his land and once Harold died hes king of FFA until Arthur

I’ve watched all of the Shrek movies many times over the years and I’ve got to say I still don’t actually understand why people don’t like the third movie :/ although it’s easily surpassed by the second and forth movie, I find it’s very much on par with the first one for me.
