Is that where TFS took the I Love You, New Daddy from? Reused for the kid with similar voice in Dragonball Abridged special Celloween (krillin´s dream)?
They have an issue of him not having to face the consequences at the end, but the man has spent the entire day with the regret of his actions and the existential dread of the fact that if he cant get his wife to love him again, not only will he die but his kids have no chance of ever existing.
Exactly, he litterly Faced the consequences and learnd from his mistakes..also idk his struggle while immoral felt geniuen , sometimes people think that they were better off before before realising it's just frustration+nostalgia talking
Exactly what I was thinking. People say horrible things when in their in heightened states and what he said was terrible, but he definitely suffered for it and saw the consequences of his actions.
@@FearlessGamer27Not only that but he'd been clearly bottling all that in for a long time. The longer you bottle your feelings up like that, the messier it's gonna be when it finally bursts out. Honestly, I feel the movie should've had Fiona remember their argument, not just so he apologises to her, but so that she can then suggest they take a vacation while they find someone to watch the kids. Burnout is a terrible thing and there's nothing wrong with wanting to just take a small break, even from your family, just to unwind. It's understable that Shrek wanted just one day to himself, the problem wasn't that, it was getting it from a shady person and not even discussing it with Fiona.
It seems like your guys' biggest gripe with the movie is Shrek not facing consequences for his actions, but the separate timeline is exactly that. Shrek had to deal with the consequence of making a deal to have the life he claimed he wished to want back only to regret it immediately when it resulted in losing his family and friends. Not to mention the looming threat that Shrek and his kids would cease to exist if he doesn't fix everything before time ran out
He quite literally made a sketchy ass deal with a known scammer no amount of dealing with the consequences will make him likeable because he made a blantly stupid choice to trust a scammer like how am I supposed to feel any sort of sorry when he makes a choice to trust a scammer.. Hope me reiterating the same point 3 times isn't too annoying its just Shrek in this movie is just blantly made stupid cause any normal intiligent creture would've seen the red flags and bailed on the deal..
@@JesseNightingale I mean people get scammed in real life all the time. Hope you wouldn't be that mad when grandma is left with nothing after giving her bank numbers to the nice man who told her her card was suspended because of suspected illegal activity. It's obvious in hindsight but sometimes people don't know better. Also rumple is known to some people but shrek didn't seem to recognize him.
@@tristanqr Yes I would be that mad with grandma even more so actually cause it's a real person making stupid decisions that ruin there lives. The only leeway grandma would get is if she had some mental probelms due to old age or somthing similar but at that point she shouldn't be in control of her money lol I would give Shrek more leeway IF it wasnt clear everyone knew Rumple was a scam artist fuckin Pinocchio called him out for his shitty deals in the first few minutes and Shrek has been around enough magical beings to know when somethings fishy pretty sure even in the scene when he signed the deal he was suspicious then it all just went away within seconds of being promised something he deeply wants whitch should have big one big ass red flag and again it would be more believeable if seemingly everyone but Shrek didnt know Rumple was a untrustworthy person. Makes Shrek look like a jackass when everyone else instantly told Rumple to fuck off lol
@JesseNightingale Nah, the King and Queen were literally going to make a deal with him in exchange for the curse to be lifted. No fine print or critical thinking would've prepared them for the fact that their daughter would still be an Ogre. I suppose you could argue that they could've asked for more details to the "all your problems will disappear" thing lol.
@@RogueAngel97 there's a huge differnce between being hopeless with no other options for your daughters well being and chooeing to make a sketchy deal for a day off that he could've done without the assistance of a magic con arists that risks everything he loves simply by asking his wife for some time alone for a day but no Shrek chose to make a stupid ass deal that almost got him erased from existence lol
This movie is super underrated, and a way better ending than Shrek the Third. Yes, what Shrek said to Fiona was horrible, but come on. Everyone says things they don't mean when they're that upset. This is a story about appreciating what you have. And sometimes people just don't realize what they have until it's gone. As soon as Shrek sees his daughter's toy in his pocket and cries for the first time, he realizes how wrong he was. And he faces the consequences of his actions over the rest of the movie, thus gaining a new appreciation for the life he had. He was redeemed. Also, Shrek freeing the Ogres was NOT manipulation, it was a selfless act. He realized he'd never win Fiona back, so he figured the least he could do was free her people, at the cost of never seeing her again and, when the sun rose, his life. He had no idea about the "all ogre" loophole.
I didn't understand calling the thing Shrek did with freeing the other Ogres manipulation, because on one hand you can kinda see it as technically manipulation, but then wouldn't every nice thing someone does be considered manipulation by that standard? It's only manipulation if you do it with malicious intent by trying to win someone over to benefit yourself, but Shrek didn't do that
@@foxdragon2276 Exactly. He wasn't even doing it to earn Fiona's love at that point, like the reactors accused. He did it because he knew he lost. Fiona didn't love him, and he wasn't going to be getting his life back. Therefore, he decided that at the very least, he should go out by doing the right thing by freeing the ogres.
Your comment is super on point 💯 😎. Although I will add that perhaps they could have shown a little bit more in the moment that Shrek regrets what he said. Shrek shows it later on, but I think the crew here 9:05 wanted to see him immediately show it a second after he said rather than standing there firm about it like he meant it 🤔.
The ending, when Shrek came right back to the point where he was at the beginning, but was filled with joy seeing his family back again really had me getting emotional. I’m a sap for these particular moments and it is actually my favorite of the movie.
this movie is so underrated, it always gets crapped on but i think its on par with the 1st and 2nd movies, i love it and the scene where shrek starts disappearing always gets me choked up. and for some reason i love the use of the witches in it; they’re like 50% evil minions and 50% frat girls
Well the animation isn’t as great as 2 or maybe even 1 I would say but animation isn’t all that makes a good movie but I do indeed love the story and how shrek 2 looks way more
he didnt turn himself in to make fionna love him, he did it because he genuinely thought he was going to die with this altered timeline being intact, and thought the only good thing he could do for fionna and everyone else was to turn himself in to use the wish of a lifetime to save them
@@Nellie-Brooks yeah im talking in general. Like outside of this video. Whenever Shrek is mentioned people only talk about the first three. Not a lot of reactions to it. Obviously the comments are gonna talk about the 4th in a video with people reacting to the fourth😭
Aint no way y'all liked Shrek the Third more-- This is such a great story about learning to appreciate the life you have instead of just living stuck in the past, though
Do you guys get the feeling with does types of group reactions, that they are kind of oblivious to what they watching. By that i mean that they are kind of blinded by each other and because of that the reaction and the movie (in this example) take the second stage, and in turn changes how they view movies. Because their like of the movie depends in large part to "if they have fun with EACH OTHER" rather then "if the movie was good/fun". I don't know how to word it exactly. so what do you guys think?
@@sortastupidwell yea, but me point is that watching the movie like this, is kind of like watching a movie through a filter, and i don't mean it as only this video and only you guys. I mean all big group reaction videos and not only there but also in some thing like games. For example TheRussianBadger's content is great, but his opinion on games he plays is significantly alter by playing with his friends, like that time when he played BF2042, this game was a bugy mess with unfair gameplay and overall poor developer choices. But he still argued that the was good, because he had fun playing it that one or two times with a group of friends, (and that fun was mostly from doing thing unrelated to the game, but that is just kind of my feeling). Any way ma point is that he feels the game was good because he had fun playing "A GAME" with friends and not " THIS GAME" you know.
i love 4's action scenes more. but 3 did better job at maintaining the clever adult humor that 1 and 2 had. also other than the piper, 4 hasnt show same amount of satire or meta jokes on its fairy tale characters.
Can we all please appreciate how good of a Villain Rumplestiltskin is (sorry if I spelled the name wrong)? He never outright lies to anyone, and uses vague contracts to get what he wants. Like for Shrek signing the contract, he never lies to Shrek, he outright tells him he will give him his old life back, if he removes one day of his life, but never specifies which day. So having the day he was born be removed, removes many things from the OG Timeline. 1. It removes Shrek saving Donkey, which leads to Donkey being enslaved. 2. It removes Shrek saving Fiona, and since no one came for her in time, she was a permanent ogre and was exciled. 3 (the best one). Since Shrek doesn't exist, there is no reason for the King and Queen not to sign the deed to Far Far Away, which, thanks to Shrek's absense, Rumplestiltskin now rules Far Far Away. It's such a good plan.
i think you guys just tested my patience when you ranked this below Shrek 3. oh well, at least Cookie and the ''do the roar'' kid are goated characters.
Agreed, it's baffling that this was put under the third one considering how bad that one was and how I felt nothing but second hand embarrassment through most of it.
@marcellomassucco4449 The main parts I felt so awkward sitting through where Shrek trying to be the king, when he was trying *way* too hard to relate to Arthur, etc. It’s not necessarily a "bad" movie, just not a good Shrek movie.
I like the fourth one. This is where things went wild. Do the roar becomes one of the funniest memes. The Pied Piper playing Shake your groove thing to the ogres got me laughing 🎵🎵🎵👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🤣🤣🤣
For me is 2, 4, 1 and 3 in the end. I have never seen this film with the morals inverted as this video perceived. Despite this, I don't see these problems and I still find the ending very satisfying🤷😅
So you really have to pay attention to the wording the villian uses because his deals are very much like monkey paw/genie rules, where there is some twist or purposeful manipulation of the language. The deal he made with the king and queen, was for their 'problems' to disappear. Well if they no longer exist, they don't have any problems... See what he did there?
The way I look at it, I think his wording of “all your problems will fade away” was referring to the fact in the end they were the problem. THEY locked Fiona away in the tower, and THEY chose to keep her there until someone could break her curse. Fiona is the same person both as an ogre and a person, so it’s not to protect anyone. And they easily could have hid her away at night and nobody would have batted an eye, but they made the choice to lock her in the tower despite a world of other options. The King and Queen were the cause of their own problems, thus, they were the ones to fade away, rumple has his kingdom, and he never ended Fiona’s curse because of his crafty wording. Also we have a king and queen here, they could organize a wedding for her daughter to marry a prince, and if we are to believe whatever prince saved her was her true love as Fiona claimed, then it would essentially work the same.
So just for some clarification, on why Shrek was acting a bit different could be from his own relationship with his parents. One we found out Shrek's father tired to eat him at one point. (in Shrek one i think) Also is Shrek the musical which gives us Shrek's backstory we find out his parents had him leave their house at the age of 7 so he had no true loving parents with him he has been on his own the only way to live was to be scary. IN a comic story we find out that Shrek's parents told him there was no place for any non terrifying ogre in their family. So Shrek's mentality was because he was raised to be terrifying through and through but never to be a loving father. So that's why that fact that he was not scary anyone messed with him so much.
I feel they missed the theme of the movie. And with them saying shrek doesn't face the consequences, the whole movie is about him facing said consequences and learning to be better. Saying those things to fiona at the part was definitely wrong, but people say the wrong things in the heat of the moment, not to mention he is also literally an ogre.
these guys constantly shat on ''video-game cutscene'' looking animation like dammit we know. i'll admit while i think it looks solid i sort of prefer the look of Shrek 2 more, but not in a way that ''bleh this looks horrible!'' shtick that you were trying to avoid.
Damn you guys fucking HATED this one. I genuinely think this movie is great. Not as great as Shrek 2, but like it felt like it took a more serious tone. You guys got hung up on him saying that to his wife which it was terrible but like, he learned about how wrong he was and how terrible of a thing that he said in anger was. He suffered for it to. Also, I never really even noticed any bad qualities in the animation but you guys got hung up on that for some reason to. You guys are welcome to hate it, but like WORSE than Shrek 3 is harsh!
@@jackbassindale4336agreed. Not everyone is fan of the 3rd movie and not everyone is a fan of the 4th movie and that’s ok. Everyone will have a favorite different movie, and there’s nothing wrong with that. For example, I know that the first ice age movie is iconic, and as much as I love the first ice age movie, I do love the 3rd one a bit more.
Here's why I think Fiona didn't get saved: In the first movie Lord Farquaad sent other knights to rescue Fiona and bring her back to him. My guess is they probably all failed and he gave up and looked for another princess. And Prince Charming didn't rescue her because at the beginning of this movie Fiona's parents were losing their trust in the Fairy Godmother (who was Prince Charming's mother). In the second movie it was shown that she made a deal with Harold, she'd help them break Fiona's curse if her son became her true love.
Opinions are valid, i will always state that. But I need genuine insight on why you guys think Shrek 3 is better, because, to me, that movie just ruins every attempt at humor it has, and its emotional core is very weak compared to 1, 2, and imo 4. Again, not saying you guys can't think that, humor is subjective, but im fascinated on why
I loved the Pied Piper scene with the Ogres. This movie was definitely needed after the third one. I heard there's gonna be a Shrek 5, so I hope it'll be good as well. Too bad Megamind 2 turned out the way it did based on the trailer.
Yes!! I was hoping y'all were gonna react to this one! It was a major upgrade from the last one. Also, this may be the comic nerd in me, but the timeline-change thing just has me thinking of Flashpoint xD
@@FearlessGamer27Can't wait to see how the comments will turn out for their hot take in really disliking this movie and preferring the third one over this one.
He isn't manipulating Fiona into loving him he geniunely was ready to sacrifice himself so she and the ogers would be free ... I don't get the hate for this movie tbh...I presonally loved it as a kid and still like it very much it's 100% better then shrek 3 XD and I think I enjoy it as much as 2'nd one
Shrek: "You know, I always thought that I rescued you from the Dragon's Keep." Fiona: "You did." Shrek: "No. It was you that rescued me." Single-handedly put this movie above the first one for me
I think the whole reason why Shrek really wanted to be scary again to people is because he was tired of people not giving him space. He couldn't even go to the bathroom without people bugging him.
Lmao, I personally love this movie more then 3, but I actually dont hate 3 that much. In the end though I can see all your points. Another pointed out that Shrek spent a whole day regretting his decisions. That was the consequence of his actions. He almost died and would of cost his kids their lives. They wrapped it up cause kids movie but it could of bene so much darker. People shouldn't get mad over opinions though, you guys had valid points.
I always felt that, Rumpelstiltskin, whether intentionally or not did Shrek a huge favor. Because the whole rewinding back to the roar was such a good thing for Shrek, considering how mean he was during his talk with Fiona.
i think y'all took what shrek wished way to seriously. Everybody has wished something really bad after being riled up by anger or in a argument. y'all acted like he wished she died LMAO
No he just wished she stayed trapped in the tour, he never met her and his kids were never born. Oh and he smashed his kids birthday cake and screamed at the top of his lungs at their birthday right before hand. Totally rational thing to do
@@sortastupid you guys aren’t even trying to hide the fact you didn’t pay attention to the movie. “Give a day to get a day” he wished he could have a single day like it used to be, and was convinced it wouldn’t have any negative effects, and low and behold stiltskin scammed him. Stop looking at the rotten tomato score and completely disregarding it from the start cuz you want to pump out content
@@sortastupid The movie never makes it look like what he did was right. But its understandable because we see why he is upset. We can be sympathetic. He was wrong for saying that to her. But this whole movie is to show him what he said was wrong and learn form his mistake. Thats why the movie took the time to show you him relearning what he lost and him paying for it. He then reappears as he screamed and the joy and love in his face is the theme of the movie. Plus him screaming at the party wasnt even a bad thing everyone loved it. Its him smashing the Cake hurt the vibe.
It might be crazy, but I kinda get the “looks like a video game” thing, but more in the movement department than anything else. Like they look about the same as other ones, maybe a smidge better, but whenever they move, example Fiona and Shrek sparing/romancing, it looks like it’s missing some fluidity like theres no in-between frames and just key frame 1 snapping into key frame 2. Obviously, the whole movie’s not like that, but it just feels like it’s happening more than it should in the 4th movie of a franchise like this. Either that, or I’m going nuts like the rest of them. Lol
I don't think I've ever seen Brie laugh so hard before lol. I'm a little disappointed because this was one of my favorite Shreks, 3 for me is the one that shouldn't even exist, with or without it this timeline works out, I guess except maybe the kids. But after you guys pointing out why it happens, it does kinda ruin the motivation to root for Shrek. I mean I can kinda get losing your temper and blowing up, but maybe not the specific thing that he said lol. Idk for me this one is depressing and kinda deep, just cause thinking about if you're life was ripped away is sad, but you're right he's the reason it happened lol. It was just as much as his fault as it was Rumple's. But he was more, I feel, trying to get a little refreshed and then come back ready to be a dad again, kinda get a little time to himself, like he says. He didn't realize he'd be tricked obviously.
It's interesting to think about how Shrek's journey in this movie is pretty similar to Puss' in The Last Wish! Maybe that's why it's so good, at least in my opinion. I think for a lot of people, Shrek 4 definitely helped redeem the franchise after Shrek 3. It's the most emotional Shrek movie there is in my opinion (Puss' movies are their own separate things to me). But for real, Puss and Shrek both go through their own experiences of mortality and learning to value what you have before it's all gone. And both of which have heavy focuses on earning back the love of their partners (Shrek had to prove his love to Fionna who doesn't trust him, and Puss had to earn back the love of Kitty who doesn't trust him). In the end, both Shrek and Puss realize they already had what they could ever wish for, and choose to appreciate their family and friendships over a life of solitude.
Even though the first puss in boots didn’t get the recognition or the best out of them, it still has some sort of place in my heart and part of my childhood especially when you listen to it in the Spanish dub.
@@peter-josephlamusitele6296the jokes were so mid. Even the music was garbage compared to Shrek 2. Shrek 3 was more of a filler movie than anything and easily forgettable
@@Kimberly-gj9jf well it's my opinion don't get me wrong Shrek 2 is the best one but I always find Shrek 3 funny imo I understand the hate I'm just saying. Shrek 4 was alright the only funny part I found funny was the fat kid "do the roar"
Well, it took a while, but here we are, Shrek 4, the final Shrek movie, all that’s left now is the first Puss in Boots… not counting the upcoming fifth movie or any of the shorter Shrek specials because their are a few.
I get why they are not liking it but this was best watched Shrek movie in a way its a homage to all Shrek movies and I understand the contradictions but I love it its still in my top five of the Shrekverse movies 1. Shrek 2. Shrek 2 3. Shrek forever after 4. Shrek 3 5. Puss in boots 2
I love how everyone in the comments is banding together to explain why the movie is better than you think. When you think about how different Shrek's life is at the start of 1 vs 4, it's understandable that he might have a bit of an identity crisis about losing his previous life as a 'real' ogre. So when pushed to breaking point at the party he does take it too far, and so the whole contract with Rumple happens as punishment for his actions. Of course Shrek didn't know the reputation of Rumple and was lured into the contract because it was the easy option for him, rather than going back to the party and apologising to Fiona & everyone else. Plus Rumple made plenty of eyeball-tinis too. It's like how the second film has Shrek take the happily-ever-after potion because he thinks it will make him accepted into society and is easier for him than attempting to make peace with Fiona and her parents. I will acknowledge there is the difference that he thinks the potion will benefit Fiona. But of course the result of the potion vs the contract are rather different, with the stakes being significantly higher in the latter's case. And I love how the climax has Shrek accept that he can't force Fiona to love him, and that he decides to give up in the hopes that Fiona and all the other ogres live a free and safe life, wishing that Fiona can have the kids she wanted. Damn, maybe I need to make a video essay on the Shrek franchise, I clearly think way too hard about these films.
I have mixed feelings about this movie, mainly because of the reason for why events unfolded the way they did. This all basically started because Shrek missed being a feared and monstrous ogre. But isn't that what he use to hate being, back in the first movie? Yeah he enjoyed scaring villagers every once in a while when they came knocking at his door, and enjoyed the solitude in his swamp. But in that same movie, he specifically told Donkey how he didn't like being hated and feared and misunderstood by others simply because he's an ogre. "They judge me before they get to know me." was the exact line he told to Donkey in the first movie, and expressed beforehand what his lifestyle was like and how he seemed to dislike it; constantly being feared and hunted, people hating him simply because they thought he was nothing more than a monster. And clearly, as we've seen, he's more than that. So I don't understand why he suddenly wants to go back to such a life. I get he wants peace and quiet, even if for a little while like a vacation or something, but he shouldn't have to be alone and hated again just to get that; especially since it conflicts with and contradicts his whole character. And it feels like my point is made even more prevalent when Shrek apparently stands by what he said to Fiona, about wanting things to go back to the way they use to be BEFORE he rescued her from the Dragon's Keep. Like, what?! He's basically wishing he had never met his wife nor had a family with her. Yeah ik, people say horrible things in the moment that they'll immediately regret. But for someone to stand firm by those horrible things said after saying them? Especially someone like Shrek with all he's been through? That's not right nor makes no sense. Sorry for the somewhat long comment. Just wanted to throw my thoughts in for some constructive discussions, or simply to air it out.
I think it's more or less how he misses when he wasn't know by everyone and didn't had to have responsibilities, we all feel like that were we think "man i wish i could go back in the day" because we think things were somehow better before, without thinking. Maybe he liked the tranquility of it all, maybe he liked just doing a little bit of trolling every once in a while (in Shrek 1 and 2 we can see him running and spooking people for fun)
@@indie_gamer7I don't think it was ever about responsibility in any way. But I get the idea of "maybe things were better in the past at some point". But to wish to go all the way back before you met your significant, let alone before having kids with them? And even telling your significant other that to their face?? That's just messed up and doesn't really fit well here, at least for this character and the previous stories told so far. And I get wanting to mess around with villagers and other people from time to time. It has been shown in 1 and 2. That part's fine. But the whole thing about being feared, hated, and misjudged is something i remember Shrek in the first movie had expressed about. It seems like the theme of the first movie was "Don't judge a book by its cover", which obviously makes sense for Shrek but also quite a few characters in the first movie.
@@StargazerZ99 I mean, he did this wish after getting angry, while in anger you say things you don't actually mean or want things you don't mean to, I had that and saw people who said similar things to people and wished them in anger, but after a while felt bad and apologized. Maybe if Shrek had taken longer to think he would l've gone back and apologize when he calmed down, but Rumpen went to him while he was in this angry state.
@@indie_gamer7 I'm aware of that and I get he was upset. And sometimes, when someone says something out of anger or whenever their emotions get high and tense, when they say something they don't mean, they don't immediately realize what they said. So it would take a bit of time for them to realize what was said, and regret it and apologize for it later. But there has to be a line drawn here for that, like an extent to how far things can be said by someone before they realize they messed up. Like, idk how Shrek didn't immediately realize how horrible what he said was and immediately regretted it then and there, and apologize to Fiona right after saying it. Idk, that's just me I guess. You are right though, if Shrek had just taken the time to think things over, I'm sure he would've gone back and apologized to Fiona after calming down, and realize how wrong he was for what he said. And yeah, Rumpel took advantage of the situation right away.
This whole plot could’ve been avoided if people surrounding Shrek noticed he just needs support from his new world. Shrek only became the bad guy here because it all blew up and the lack of emotional support made him say those things, so I understand him. Fiona does best at keeping score of Shrek’s debts while enjoying being a queen of the house. This movie is a real life scenario for couples, imho. Men aren’t allowed to show emotions, as society dictates.
He never wanted that, he wanted 1 day as a scary ogre again but was tricked to be that way for the rest of his life, ain't like people in real life haven't gone on a vacation away from their kids
There's no way you put 3 above 4. That's absolutely wild. So I hate judging people on their opinions of films, everyone has their own opinion and that's great but Shrek 3 is one of those films that pisses me off to no evail. That's my anger movie if that makes sense.
Personally, I'm all for Shrek not wanting to feel like a shell of his former self. After Rumple hustled him, he lived his old life again, and experienced what that would cost him. Uhhh, so yeah, I'd say he most definitely did face the consequences of his actions. That, and I dont think he truly wished that he didn't save Fiona; the dude just didn't wanted to be seen as what he was born as.
This movie is basically just "It's A Wonderful Life" but with Shrek. To say that Shrek meant it when he had a moment of weakness at the party, is kind of like saying Jimmy Stewart's character screaming at his family in that movie is in anyway a meaningful act and not just some impotent anger. Though I do agree that the movie shouldn't have brought Shrek back before he smashed the cake and said what he said to Fiona, it would've been interesting if the movie show him apologize to his wife.
All four you please watched Shrek The Musical (Broadway). It based on the 1st movie but have more elements like character backstory. Please watch it you guys
I don’t think anyone that I know in my entire life has ever said that this was their favorite by longshot. You guys are good taking shots at this movie.
They ALL missed the point/plot of the movie... Fionas curse wasnt broken by rumple... he made the king&queen dissapear so their problems didnt exist to THEM anymore... not that they didnt exist at all. Fionas curse didnt stop when they dissapeared thats why she ONLY came to the resistance at night... she STILL changes human during the day which is why the movie is set at night... and why puss at the end says she is "still an oger" The plot was how the world would have been if Shrek was never born. He has to see what would've happened IF he never saved Fiona.
@@sortastupid how though, just because Shrek said he wanted to be gone from his kids, he said he wanted to be gone for a DAY but y'all don't listen, he didn't want to be gone forever, all he wanted was a vacation from his kids
If they dislike how Shrek faces no consequences, just wait until you see 'A Christmas Carol'. (Which, by that, I mean: The consequences were shown to Shrek and he changed before any lasting damage could be done. That's literally a best case scenario for most of these stories - not every person who does something wrong has to be punished for it. If they realize they're in the wrong and change, isn't that enough?)
Just saw the vid pretty good but I would like to say that the contract he signed was that he could feel like an ogre for a day but since the day that was taken from him was his birth he disappears. the contract wasn't meant to change his life but fulfil what he feels is lost just for a day. Also I feel like you guys got caught up in your conversations and you missed key factors to the plot. He only wanted to save the ogres and let himself die since he believed there was no way out of he's done... Just wanted to give my opinion on this
26:08 This was an scrapped idea but for what i know, originally that Ogre was suppose to be Prince Charming as an ogre, the idea was scrapped soon after it so its not alot of info i think
Thank you for the reaction all movies of Shrek are my favorite but when I watched the 4th movie for the first time I fall in love with Fiona character even more she is really amazing while for Rumble character I wanted to hit him so bad 😂😂😂.
I'm late, but I've gotta say this. You guys misinterpreted the second deal scene. It wasn't that Shrek was saving the ogres to get Fiona to like. It was Shrek accepting that his time was up and trying to do something to give this new world a chance at freedom while doing at least one good thing for Fiona before he was gone.
Shrek wasn't reminiscing never have saved Fiona because of her or because of their kids. He wished for the peace and privacy he had before he became a local hero and a family guy. The first minutes show how unsuferable his routine became, not just by the tiredness of being triplet's dad, but by EVERYONE in the kindom just coming and going in his day as they pleased. Fiona's rwaction was totally apropriated tho, it was an unffair wording just thrown at her face. Of course, the lesson he learns this whole movie is that, yes, there are some annoyances and trade of, but he won SO MUCH MORE by marrying and having his children.
