On twitter i found a guy who said he developed one of these games. I googled the username & found forum posts from him on like neogaf back in 2004. They were all like “hey that shrek game coming out looks pretty neat??” “Anyone playing Shrek 2? I think it’s good.” lmao

The useless number in the top right of Reekin’ Havoc seems to be a Zelda-style floor indicator (why that is needed is beyond me).

5:50 FUN FACT: This was actually the plot for the Shrek 4-D ride as Universal Studios Hollywood. Whether or not is was based on the ride, I’m not sure, but I’m willing to say it was.

I had one of the vicarious vision games. It was two in one game: Sherk (not sure which one) and penguins from Madagascar. It was for gba and I just found it on the playground at school and never turned it in like my mom told me to. I remember always being confused and never got very far in it.

I unironically loved Shrek Super Slam on the PS2, it was a simple but fun 3D arena fighting game with pretty cool mechanics and various fun challenges, but the GBA version... damn, Street Fighter II on the original Game Boy played better than that.

When I was young I wanted Shrek 2 on Gameboy. My dad took me to Walmart and I pointed out Shrek 2: Beg for Mercy. When he saw the one next to it, he repeatedly questioned the workers on why one was so much cheaper than the other. He got me the one that came out first, and only recently have I played the second. Still a good choice.

The Lost Vikings had a port to the GBA. You can also download the PC version for free on Blizzards site. Also, there was a Shrek game on the DS that was even more similar to the Lost Vikings.

8:16 It’s what floor you’re on in that particular level. However I don’t know if there is a coinciding map function in that game so I don’t know how helpful it really is. Also, it’s weird to think of what particular “floor” you’re on when gallivanting through a forest.

I'd say that the best of the Shrek games on any system has to be Shrek 2's PS2 release, made by Activision - It's great fun to play and really good for multiplayer - anyone can join or leave at any time provided they have a controller, and it's really fun to run through levels beating the crap out of anything that gets in your way and completing the Hero Time minigames.

I despise that "Single Player co-op" thing that was mentioned. It's all over GBA for some reason. So many cartoon, tv, and movie tie ins end up having you control multiple characters at the same time to solve puzzles and platform through levels. Then again, I also hated Lost Vikings, so maybe that explains it.

When I was a kid I wanted a GBA so badly and the reason was because of the shrek games. I would look through the screenshots and box arts and dream about playing these games. I printed out screenshots and stuck them to my bedroom wall. Wreaking havoc, superslam, and one you missed that had you play as four characters on the screen at once to solve puzzles. Maybe my memory is wrong though. My parents never did buy me that GBA.
