St. Charles East High School Presents...Shrek The Musical. Directed by Teresa Bundy. April 25-27, 2014. Norris Cultural Arts Center - St. Charles, Illinois.
I think the director should be commended for harnessing the talent and coaching out solid dialects in almost every cast member. I know the auditorium has a ton of technical limitations being a high school... but for the Act 1 opener and swamp - a strong atmospheric haze and well designed lighting would have made this on quality with the national tour. Overall - an accomplishment for this being high schoolers!
Also, the Big Bad Wolf was really good, as was Pinocchio. Donkey was super cute! Wicked Witch was strong too, and the girl in the pink dress (is that the Sugarplum fairy?). Idk, I just felt like acknowledging some of the people who stood out to me lol.
This is definitely the best donkey I’ve seen out of the highschool performances on RU-vid great job man! My school opened shrek the musical last night and I’m playing donkey too
I'm curious about how they did Pinocchio's nose. I need a nose that does the same thing in this video for a Pinocchio costume. If anyone has suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. (:
All i can say is WOW! what a spectacular performance, the only thing is that they should've cloned pinnoccio to play every single part and direct it. but thats just a minor flaw.
shrek is so popular these days...he even has plays about him...just last night he told me he ran into some of his fans that tried to follow him back to his house. he was forced to beat the hell out of them when one of them tried to attack him. me: they'll. get over it. after all, shrek is love, shrek is li- shrek:SHUT THE FUCK UP.
A note adjustment?!?!? If you can't sing the notes then DONT audition!!! Ugh I hate when productions sacrifices notes just because an "actor" CANT sing it!
I agree, I was in musicals and some people can't sing or they don't have very good vocal quality. I'm a music major and I've been working hard with my vocal quality.
Ayee with frank^^^ its high school. You dont have unlimited sopranos, tenors, altos, etc... And you dont have all the sets, equipment, and time a show like broadway has. I'm really surprised they actually had enough people. In my high school only 4 boys do the musicals-.- for a high school show this was pretty damn good!
This is a good production for a high school but I bet my middle school could do better cuz we have younger kids that have more imagination and aren't afraid to have fun with it and use accents. (Not intentional for bragging or arguments)
just cause your younger doesn't mean your better, everyone has imagination. our high school is one of the top theatres around, so don't just asume older kids aren't as good
Animated_Gamer did you even read their comment? They said the middle school could have done better because they aren’t afraid to show off and have more fun.
sorry didn't read the descripiton i am so sorry go head and call me a bitch my bad yall made it look so real to the real one five star quality im so sorry.
