You can try and sing if you want. Singing is all about enjoying the music no matter how good or bad one is. Technicalities are important but having fun with music is also very essential. What's the point if you cant sing along and have fun? So I recommend you sing your heart out when you pause the video.

You can attempt singing it. The first clue or technique is singing it in a specific throw (of your voice), the voice pitch, your approach of voice. That's the first step towards attempting the song (for that matter it applies to Indian music in general).
