It is an immense honour and privilege to welcome you all to the 24th annual day celebration of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute. Your presence here today adds great value to this occasion, and I extend my sincere gratitude to each one of you for joining us.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Revanth Reddy Garu, for accepting our invitation to be the chief guest today. We are profoundly grateful for your swift action in renewing the land lease for our hospital, a decision that has been pending for the last five years. This support will greatly enhance our ability to expand our services and intensify our dedication to eradicating cancer from our communities. Very soon, we are going to construct a new facility to expand our operations. I would request you to kindly come and lay the foundation stone with your golden hands.
Revanth Reddy Garu is truly inspiring, known for his willingness to take risks and his exceptional oratory skills. His ability to connect with the people through the Telangana dialect is commendable. His burning desire and mighty guts to tread the path he believes in have elevated him to the higher echelons of politics. He always believed that dreams can be turned into realities, and his journey from a small village in Kondareddipalli to the esteemed position of Chief Minister is a testament to this belief. Despite the challenges, his commitment to the people of Telangana is unwavering, and his leadership continues to inspire us all.
Reflecting on Our Founder’s Vision:
As we gather here, it is fitting to reflect upon the noble vision that brought this institution into existence. The inception of this hospital was born from the profound personal loss of my father, Swargiya Shri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who lost his beloved wife, Smt. Basavatarakam, my mother, to cancer. Driven by his unwavering commitment to alleviate the suffering of countless others, he founded the Smt. Nandamuri Basavataraka Rama Rao Memorial Cancer Foundation (NBTRCF).
We are immensely grateful for the contributions of Mrs. Polavarapu Tulasi Devi and Dr. Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, whose tireless efforts and unwavering support played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. Their dedication, alongside the collaboration with the Indo American Cancer Organizations, USA, has helped us establish a world-class cancer treatment and research institute here in Hyderabad. Inaugurated on June 22nd, 2000, by the esteemed Prime Minister of India, Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the institute embodies a beacon of hope and compassion in the fight against cancer.
The hospital’s objective is to serve the needs of the community and is run on a not-for-profit basis. Professionally managed by a Trust Board, the Institute benefits from the input of people from different walks of life. Thanks to our doctors, nursing staff, non-medical staff, and supporting staff, the hospital is rated as one of the best cancer hospitals in India.
Our facilities are equipped with advanced technologies such as the exclusive 360 Degree Linear Accelerator, RTCT simulator, Spect CT, Digital PET CT, 128-slice Big Bore CT scanner, Advanced Surgical Microscope, Digital X-ray, LTR and MRI machines, CT-Scan, Endoscan, Ultra-Sound System, Tomotherapy, 3D digital mammography, Digital X-ray, Cyclotron, 3D and 4K laparoscopy, 13-color flow cytometry, and NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing).
Future Endeavors:
Looking ahead, we envision further expanding our services and enhancing our research capabilities. We are working actively on research and development, with a well-equipped in-house research lab that collaborates with clinicians. This synergy allows us to leverage clinical insights and human samples to initiate new research projects aimed at discovering new drugs and improving diagnostic and treatment modalities. Our focus remains on early detection, prevention, and holistic care to improve the quality of life for cancer patients.
Special Request:
Honourable Chief Minister, since we are now working at full capacity and patients are forced to wait for a long time for treatment, we kindly request you to allot us more land so that we can treat more patients.
