Shrimp Fishing on Horseback for 700 Years

Great Big Story

For nearly 700 years, the shrimpers of Oostduinkerke, Belgium, have been training draft horses to help them pursue the local catch. Typically weighing more than 2,000 pounds, these horses are well suited to the task of carrying fishermen through the cold waters of the North Sea. Yet despite its historical importance, Oostduinkerke is the last place on Earth to use this traditional form of fishing. Currently, just 19 or so fishermen continue the practice.
This Great Big Story was inspired by Genesis.

And then there is the shrimp. Cooked in sea water with spices. The natural sweetness of the shrimp mixed with the salty flavour of the sea. Best shrimp you ever had. 35 odd years ago we would go to the Oostende port when the fishermen came in. They cooked it on board of the ship when they came to shore. They put the shrimp in frites cornets and we ate them still warm. That was before the EU basically closed down the belgian fishers business. A scandal.

Mumbai is one of the most populated cities in the world. It is so tough to travel in Mumbai because of it's traffic. So ppl prefer taking the local trains. But there too these trains r over crowded during the peak office hours ie. 6am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm.So the people prefer to leave early from their house to work.By this they r not able to prepare the meal for their lunch,so their families make the lunch when they get free n send it with the dabawalas who use advantage of the less crowded time to deliver the food n also return the lunch box.The price they charge for the delivery is pretty decent and it won't cost that much compared to buying the food from outside n eating. So this system is much practical and budget friendly.
