Shriram Ilakkya Kazhagam, the literary wing of Shriram Group, one of India's leading non-banking financial companies, has been organising Thirukkural Elocution Contest 2016, the annual state-level competition since July 2016 for school & college students.
The preliminary & semi-final rounds are already over in Chennai, Puducherry, Coimbatore, Madurai, Nellai, Salem, Trichy, Namakkal, Tiruvarur and Vellore. Being the largest Statewide Tamil Elocution Contest, it has seen a participation of more than 2000 students from all over Tamil Nadu.
Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam has been conducting this competition every year since 1988 with the view of enhancing awareness on the teachings of Thirukkural among the student community in the state.
Looking forward for a grand finale, to be held in Chennai on 1st Oct 2016.
