Fun fact: that loose skin that hangs around a cat's belly is called their primordial pouch. 😄 Thank you for the review! I don't usually mind pressed pigment formulas, but I think I'd at least need some lighter shades to work with.
You're kind of close on primordial. It usually means earliest or first form, often used to describe the evoluionary period of single celled organisms or the beginnings of the universe. Primordial soup of life, etc. I am currently not buying anymore eyeshadow since I have so much already & want to use it before it expires but I still enjoy watching mu videos & knowing what's newly released. Still waiting for a single brand to have my fave matte & shimmer formula to make purchasing an actual palette worth it for me instead of purchasing singles from different brands & making my own custom palettes.
This looks like the same formula as the BattyBean palletes. It's a lot like Melt's formula to me. A lot of pigment means it's dry and hard to 'move' or blend. I don't mind that because the color ends up true to pan but it's not easy to work with and it takes time to get the edges to look nice.
They had previously released their “moonfall” mattes and shimmers so this palette was inspired by those, although they did some adjustments to the shades from the original singles to the palette. IMHO I like the singles better because they are more grungy to me
I wanted to buy this palette so badly but MY battybean palette was such terrible quality /: (and for reference I own almost every palette and single shrouds released.) I know alot of ppl seemed to have loved their Bettyjean palettes but both times mine have been absolutely terrible quality. So that kinda stopped me but also I own the original single shimmers from this palette and they're more satin less metallic or even sparkly. Nothing special what's so ever. I do absolutely love what shrouds doing colorstory wise and her themes for each launch. Chloe needs to work on her shimmer formula a bit before I buy anything new from her. But her formula across the board has just kinda been bad /:
It really doesn’t look like anything special. Definitely nothing like buying an Adept palette or something like that. I kinda felt the same about my blendbunny lure palette too. It’s pretty and good quality but nothing special really.
I’m sorry to hear both of the ones you bought weren’t good. I’ve personally had overall good experiences, but I can see why the shimmers wouldn’t stand out compared to many indie brands. The color stories are top notch though 🙌🏻
@@AmyLovesMakeup its only with her newer stuff I noticed- Arcana and Creepy cute 1 were fine. Granted Arcana shimmers weren't great but by the time I owned them I also owned alot of terra moons and devinah singles so it was like night and day shimmer wise. But her color stories do draw me in everytime which is why I'm just waiting on the brand- once I see a review from someone like you saying the quality got better ill give the brand another chance to wow me!
@@cherylb_88 I'm genuinely shocked about the Blendbunny palette not preforming well- Maggie's palettes truly have been the best mattes I've used from any brand. Now the Shimmers she's improved on for sure bc surge was absolutely terrible lol like those were baaad. But they've come along way. Now are they Adept shimmers??! Definitely not! I also just don't like those squishy shadows I have oily eyelids so they always crease on me very badly even with my best base and glitter glue. But it's hard to make incredible mattes and shimmers happen in one palette lol somethings gotta be off 🥲 can't have it all be perfect I guess!
I love all my Shroud palettes and I've been loving this one so much. I've done several looks already. I didn't have any blending issues, I usually buff the edges with translucent powder anyways though.
you did your best :D sadly im not a big fan of their shimmer formula and i already have the matte singles so its an easy pass, which is good since i only want to buy 5 palettes this year xD and already bought 2 of the last odens eye release.
Hmm yeah not great blendability at all. I would say if you've bought this palette or can't live without the colour story so intend to buy it, lay down a translucent powder first and use the same to blend the edges. And/or a crease and transition from another palette and just use this for your pops of colour. Regardless of skin tone. What a shame.
I have the singles set. I didn't notice the blending issue because I bought them to darken looks and use with other shadows. Fairly certain I haven't tried to just blend them out before.
I'm curious how this would perform with blend bunny mattes to blend the mattes out realistically I think that's how I'd use the palette if I bought it- I don't mean this negatively! I usually use 9 pan palettes as companions so it's how I'd use any other 9 pan. I love using really dark palettes with midtone mattes from BB or another palette so if they play well with others I can see myself really enjoying the palette
I’m sure any of the blend bunny palettes would do wonders together with Moonfall. And I’m the same I typically pull from more than one palette these days but like I said because it was a first impression I really didn’t want to have to do that
Good afternoon, Amy! I'm super excited to watch this and hear your thoughts on this! I was in a meeting when this launched, so I missed it. I'm patiently waiting for the restock on the 28th 😊
I love Shroud, but they've really fallen off for me. It doesn't seem like they restock their singles anymore, and the fact that they went completely radio silent during the holidays was so odd. I wish good things for the brand, and if she ever releases Creepy Cute 2 as singles I'll definitely buy them, but unfortunately Shroud isn't calling to me like it used to. 😕🖤
This is pretty, but I have the first Batty Bean collab palette, and it isn't great. I'd rather just use what I have and eventually get some multichromes.
@@AmyLovesMakeup no worries! As a singles collector & someone who loves creating custom color stories I'm still interested in this. Especially if it's magnetic because sometimes it's hard to find deep mattes!
