Add Road Flares to your items....strike one tap to the end of a long stick you could use that as torch WAVING and POKING in a forward motion at your attackers would BURN them....burning of the flesh is not a good feeling for your attackers. It's Legal and easy to pack in your preps.

Good stuff. Lots to consider. Thanks for taking the time. My go-to non-gun self-defense choices are a hickory cane for the streets and hickory walking stick for days afield. Cost is free, cut from a sapling, debarked and whittled with a pocket knife. Oh, and a couple of cents for some sandpaper if you want them cleaned up and smooth. I prefer the distressed look on the staff and smooth for the cane.

I'm working on some walking sticks myself, just pine wood. I used a small draw knife some sand paper as you say and a knife to mold it for the shape of my hand.

Ergonomics : one thing I do with a lot of my axe and entrenching tool handles is I stretch cuts of bicycle inner tube (in 2" segments) and cover the parts I want (like right under the axe head or in the middle of the e-tool's handle etd). Not only does it really enhance your grip, but it also gives you a fitted supply or ranger bands or ranger band material. That stuff very solid and, contrary to electrical tape, will not rub off blackish glue on your hands. Inconvenients are : it makes your hands smell. That's it, really. Another interesting way to do this is to roll shorter bands of tubing up onto the handle and cover those in a larger bands (essentially draping them so they create little ridges for your hands and you have even more rubber that way.

Tire Knocker. They only cost about $9 and made of solid wood with a metal bolt driven down the tip. It's 16" over all and resembles a traditional truncheon. And it's a "Tire Knocker"
@macvena
@macvena 2 года назад
BE ADVISED!!!! In some jurisdictions, a tire knocker is treated as a blackjack or shillelagh. 1/2 of the states in the USA prohibit the "on person" carry concealed or openly. Some states require permit. Other strictly prohibit their sale, manufacture or possession whatsoever.

Holy crap CP. This is the problem with an unarmed citizenry. You are forced to go to extremes with your violent imaginations. I`m concerned about you Canadians. While you guys are spending all day thinking nefarious thoughts, we plant a firearm at the hip ,one in each room, two on the wife and then go about our day in peaceful bliss and serenity. I write poetry. (just kidding...you do wonderful job here. I wish I was as well spoken. Great video.)

Nice video I would like as an option to present wasp spray as a blinding deterrent 20 ft range but it is poison and will likely kill your attackers without treatment so only use after WROL.
@CanadianPrepper

Barskor1 Damn! that would sting! Good suggestion.
@TheProtector1995
@TheProtector1995 8 лет назад
+Canadian Prepper, I would think so as well, but I watched several videos where people were voluntarily sprayed with wasp spray and were still very capable of functioning. High end pepper spray was also used in contrast and worked much better than the wasp spray. Certainly wouldn't want to be hit with it, of course, but just my two cents!

I dunno the laws in your area but i think saps/palm saps are legal in canada. Here where i am it is quite restrictive so i make do: Swiss army knife with corkscrew, kubotan and mouthpiece are unsuspicious and handy to use. (Almost) everything can be a weapon. You even can put round headed needles on/in your clothes, not only good for weaker persons. Think about how to carry concealed when SHTF, it all depends on the situation. I can recommend two channels here: "The Immortal" and "Real Life SHTF". If you prefer to read: "Benson Ragnar: Urban Survival" and "Lessons from the argentinian crisis 2001". A part of the 2nd one you can find on the 2nd channel i dunno if you can find it online in english like the other one.

CP you may have seen this older video but in case you have not check it out. When it was published in 2012 I didnt understand what this guy was talking about. I think he gives a good example of the "government" not vaporizing and going away in a collapse. The channel is Jack Spirko. WROL or EROL Which is More Likely?

A bow or crossbow u should add to your collect and maybe a slingshot
@CanadianPrepper

Tyler Pickersgill Indeed I didn't really get into ranged weapons for this video but they would be useful indeed. Although the reloading time, awkward shape and weight of a good crossbow are pretty brutal
@tylerpickersgill
@tylerpickersgill 9 лет назад
actually theres one crossbow ive found that folded up 150lbs so that wouldnt be bad but personally i would only use it as a last resort or hunting because its not as loud as a firearm. hopefully no one needs to be hurt

i thought pepper spray was illegal in Canada as i been looking at the law sites and even the border patrol people will seize it from you
@CanadianPrepper
@CanadianPrepper 10 лет назад
Oliver Bishop Maybe at border patrol but its not illegal to possess it can be bought anywhere (canadian tire included!) but bear spray is illegal to use on a person even if in self defense. Bear spray now requires ID to purchase as people have been using it to rob stores and what not. Dog spray can be bought by anyone without identification and I'm not sure about the laws surrounding using it for self-defense. Bear in mind that these PPE devices are more geared towards a WROL situation.

but i thought even having it in your car wasn't allowed the reason i ask is im planning to move to bobled lake in Ontario which has cougars etc even big bears on it so i want to be prepared if im out on my 600 acre forest
@CanadianPrepper
@CanadianPrepper 10 лет назад
Oliver Bishop I've done some research for you. It is legal to have any pepper spray so long as its not LABELED for the purpose of being used against humans. That just means that it cant say on the bottle for use against humans. If for the purpose of wildlife protection (which all the stuff sold in canada says) it IS LEGAL to possess. The following is from Wikipedia: Canada Pepper spray designed to be used against people is considered a prohibited weapon in Canada. The definition under regulation states "any device designed to be used for the purpose of injuring, immobilizing or otherwise incapacitating any person by the discharge therefrom of (a) tear gas, Mace or other gas, or (b) any liquid, spray, powder or other substance that is capable of injuring, immobilizing or otherwise incapacitating any person" is a prohibited weapon.@wiki/Pepper_spray#cite_note-41 Only @wiki/Law_enforcement_officer may legally carry or possess pepper spray labeled for use on persons. Any similar canister with the labels reading "dog spray" and/or "bear spray" is regulated under the Pest Control Products Act - while legal to be carried by anyone, it is against the law if its use causes 'a risk of imminent death or serious bodily harm to another person' or harming the environment and carries a penalty up to a fine of $500,000 and jail time of maximum 3 years.@wiki/Pepper_spray#cite_note-42 Carrying bear spray in public, without justification, may also lead to @wiki/Criminal_Code_of_Canada charges.@wiki/Pepper_spray#cite_note-43
