I actually won Camp today! I finished my novel with 60239 words, and I am super proud of myself! I hope you're able to catch up, and maybe get ahead? I hope you at least beat Camp! Good luck~

Got super nervous and kind of self reflective with my last 331 words that I have yet to finish. I have never ever finished a project to this extent, so it's really nerve racking. Thankfully, your streams have really been helping.

Yes Kate, read your dang books! Also, if you want to support the library and read the books you own, you could always just pick out books you already own from the library hahaha. No one's stopping you! Have you ever been this far behind before? I feel like you're always ahead unless you're traveling. OMG Duke!!! I am loving him knocking your phone out of your hand. He's a goober and I love him. =) The relay was great, we should definitely try one again in the future =)

An excerpt from my Day 20 letter to myself: "You're two-thirds through Camp NaNoWriMo--wow! You're writing words I haven't even outlined yet!" Me writing that: Well, of course that's true! I've only outlined to Chapter 6, and of course I'm not behind--how could I fail to meet such a simple goal? Me now: Heheh. . . heh. . . yeah I'm still on Chapter 3 and I'm only halfway to my goal please send help aaaaahhhhh!!

Oh my! I saw myself in the livestream chat 😅 That‘s so cool. The relay was so much fun. Even though I just noticed it when you and Brooke had yours. By the way: I‘m tracking lines written for kind of a poetry project, and so far I‘m not even half way through my goal. I wanted to write 100 lines. And I’m at 40. It’s really hard to progress. But I’ll keep on going 💪🏻

Kate Cavanaugh No, it was actually the concept praise for Project Death. I still love it and I can’t wait for you to get back to it ♥ Hell yeah, I know. I just started writing poetry this year and it‘s hard as hell. It takes me so long to get into the right headspace and figuring out what I wanna do. And I noticed that I‘m a plotter by heart. I know I like my stories laid out before I start to write but I had no idea that i had to do that for my poetry as well. It‘s crazy that poetry is so different, yet at the same time I use the same technique as when I‘m writing a novel ‪･ᴗ･‬

Story time: I work with children and one of them gave me chicken pox 😥the good news is that I have had 4 days of semi uninterrupted writing (scratching and berating myself for scratching seems to be my main interruption)

OH NOOOOOO. I hope you start feeling better soon! That's so scary. I've managed to completely avoid the chicken pox but I get irate with a few mosquito bites (slightly allergic) so I can't imagine how awful that would be. Good luck fitting those words in, ahhh!

Your Duke is so sweet! :D My distracting animals include two guinea pigs and a bunny, all of which think they're constantly entitled to treats! This is my first comment on one of your videos, though I've been watching you since late March, and I just wanted to say you're my favorite youtuber! Watching your videos helped inspire me to finally finish a first draft I'd been working on for four years. Thank you for being you! :D

yay for making progress towards catching up!! I'm a little behind myself (currently at 30k/50k) BUT I find that after I hit the 30k mark, it all gets so much easier. Last nano I had 30k on day 28 and still ended up winning so... I'm not giving up yet. I'm glad you made the decision to count 1500 words as 120 mins - that's a GREAT idea. Nano is all about writing, so it's def way better* to write with a modified "rule" than..... cry, even when crying seems like the best option. Keep up the good work!!! *crying bc of nano is also very valid and I support all my fellow criers

I was behind on time, (up until your live stream earlier,) but I'm being sneaky and added the time I spent working on character exploration for Project Floral to my goal (even though it's technically not one of the projects I'm working on. Ssshhh.) Camp is flexible, right? I have no pets, but I do have four kids who love to distract me constantly, so... And you can do it! We're rooting for you.

I wasn't officially participating in Camp, but!! I did complete my personal goal yesterday! I finished the first (probably more like a zero) draft of my fantasy novel! 36 days of writing spread out over june and july landed me at 85k words! I am EXHAUSTED! xD Also - I have two bunnies, Percy and Mynthe, who love distracting me from writing with their cuteness

My original goal was 30,000 words (cause this is my first time doing Nano) and I hit my goal this week on Tuesday! I have since bumped up to another goal of 45,000 by the end of the month. But after hitting my goal I've really slowed down my writing cause I took a trip to DC with my parents. Hopefully I'll be back in action next week. I also have two cats. One does not like me at the moment cause we went to the vet and have since had to give him eye drops twice a day. The other one swings between begging for attention and indifference rapidly and is very distracting. All in all, wonderful pets

I'm due to be done on the 23rd if I keep up the way I've been going. I'm really excited about that also incredibly necessary since I decided to try the Reading Rush this year. I gotta say, I'm really impressed that you are even trying to catch up. I'm one of those people where if I'm that far behind, I'd be like "Nope. I'm out." I'm really impressed with how much you were able to catch up even if you are still behind.

That was an amazingly productive end to the week well done :) My week was very similar to yours, I've gone days without writing or even watching anyone's videos on youtube due to working 14 hours every day this week. Good luck for the final 10 days, and just remember even if you don't quite make your goal you have still done amazing progress on your project :)

What a great way to start my Monday morning. I'm so bummed I missed your write-in but it was at midnight my time so I'm going to enjoy it today instead. Also, as for distracting animals, I have a bird (cockatiel) who will either fall asleep on my hand while I'm typing or tries to eat any part of my laptop he can get to. Also, the constant interruptions for scritches are a really nice distraction 😁

Your not as far behind as I am Kate. Trust me your doing way better then I am. I have not written in a few days except for the live stream you had today. I only got up to 900 words and that was hard for my brain. I really need to stop slacking and keep going. My fiance told me today that you Kate could get more words done if you weren't talking so much on your vlogs lol. I said she would probably be done by now with her second book. But you can't just write on a vlog you do have to talk. That is what vlogs are for. Don't be angry with my fiance she is such a great person. I love her so much. Lol.

My cat, Thompkins aka Tommy, always wants attention when I'm writing. And he bothers me at the wrong time, and he ends up stepping on my laptop, or in front of me, or staring at me as he lies down on my books and notebooks. LOL. So, I do understand that pets want attention when their owners are busy doing something else. LMFAO. :D

Not that this has anything to do with the video but i jut finished outlining the last ten chapters of my book(it's horror)and it literally took a few hours(maybe 10?) to write and it makes writing so much easier now(why didn't i try this before?)and it's the first book i've ever started and finished.

omg the Wander Writer retreat?? I was invited to go to that by Keylin!! I live, like, 45 minutes away from the retreat, but I was already taking a week and a half off work to visit family, and I was afraid I wasn't going to "fit in" b/c i'm one of those extroverted introverts... which sounds ridiculous now, but that was my logic. You're going to have so much fun up there! (traffic is going to be terrible if you go up on the friday though, just so you know) I have also just passed the 50% mark for my goal! I credit working for 2 hours after I drop my sister off for her 6am bakery shift. My puggle is currently my cowriter, and my lab is normally right beside me, but he went back down south early~ (... if you need pictures, my instagram is jafiegehen)

I have two cats and two dogs, one of the very scared dogs was in my room with me during a thunderstorm today. I was attempting to write and she decided to nudge my arm every time my fingers touched the keyboard. The poor things had a tough summer. She had to have two eye surgeries, one of her anal glands exploded and she wore a cone for about a month, so she needs some TLC!
