Shulk and Rex are gonna be telling dad jokes to A for the rest of eternity in the core. But yeah, ending with them showing off a father's love for his children is just so peak for these two.
Shulk: I Really Feeling it Rex: I Like Your Actitude A: what i have done? Shulk: wait...what's happening? *Aionios disappear, worlds become one and time backs to normal*
5:44 This shot of Shulk, Rex and A goes so fkn hard. I just love that these new generation of Xenoblade characters regard Shulk and Rex as these legendary heroes, in contrast to their humble beginnings in their respective games. It was amazing to see them grown up after their own stories and be experienced mentors in the new characters’ stories.
And of course glimmer and Nikol died without knowing that Rex and Shulk was their father. I guess after the ending Xenoblade 3 Rex and Shulk and them reunite and literally nobody remembers all this. I could really wish for a slice of life series showing us Rex reuniting his family after this event.
It's an amazingly written line with an amazing delivery of the amazingly talented Adam Howden plus perfect timing of the music which is also amazingly written. Yeah, I know I overused "amazing / amazingly" here but damn, with a game like this, what other choices do I really have?
I knnow they're rumors Mio is Nia and Rex's kid, which is most likely accurate for many different reasons, but does anyone have a theory as to who Mythra and Rex's kid is?
Rex and Shulk say they'll reunite soon, and since we know that the world's merge for real and that everyone comes back, it's likely Mio is with her dad, moms and siblings in the post credits scene of XC3 where we hear her play music.
@@JlBUNROCK I never thought about that one, i wonder if it was something Monolithsoft intentionally put in there or if they just have some similarities. He does look like gigachad rex tho 😂
@@elkolombardi you're right, in the Japanese voice version of the game in the scene when Nia was in the ouroboros park, she refers Mio as Musu.. before getting interrupted The complete word is Musume that means: daughter
It feels good to know that once worlds become one they will be able to reunite with their families. Hope ... monolith drops a picture of their families in the future.
Maybe if they do, we’ll get a pic of Mythra’s kid! All we know so far is that they have blonde hair and (going by Glimmer’s character design) is Agnian with the Pneuma core crystal.
@@Vikapediathat I hope Mythra's kid is also a girl. I just love the thought of Rex being ganged up on by not three, but six females, his wives and daughters no less. As crazy as it sounds, it just seems to fit his character lol
I like the concept of Alpha as a character very much. Compare with bosses like Zanza, Malos and Z, Alpha is a machine, he is doing what he think is right based on his machine (or programmatic) thinking without being affected by any emotion or other personal factors at all. When he is defeated, he is not like the other bosses mentioned here, he is not angered and not affected by any emotion, he just tell Matthew the consequence of Matthew's action, all based on his thinking as a machine. He really fits the term "heartless machine" very well.
I couldn't have said it in a better way. That's what I like about Alpha: He is neither good nor evil. He is simply a machine, nothing more, nothing less and his decisions are based on pure logic and logic alone.
it is certainly KOSMOS arriving to Earth if events align right with how Xenosaga 3 ended. They mentioned KOSMOS was not done yet and she will be needed in the future after Xenosaga 3 but we just never learned what for. Now we may finally get the answer in the next game set after XC3.
It's usually scenes like this that make me cry, but not this time. This time I had the biggest grin on my face, seeing them walk so confidently in order to help the world change. They really felt like absolute heroes to me and I love everything about them
Love how when Rex says "if it were them" and it pans to Sword of the End (implied to be Logos/Malos) and then the core crystal in Matthews fist (Pnuema). Seems that Pnuema's powers in this world manifested into what we see as Ouroburos
It was obvious from the start that Shulk Rex and A would somehow sacrifice themselves since they weren't one of the 6 founders of City, but the scene still made me cry
@@xoGenesisox technically yes they were liberators, but the House Leaders were Panacea and Linka who made the statues and house crests and mottos in memory of their mentors.
I didnt cry i just had the biggest grin on my face seeing shulk and rex smile as they were hero walking to save the world. God i love them both such amazing characters never in my life have i smiled this much until this very moment this was what i was waiting for.
I just realized when Rex said "If it was *them*... I don't think they'd even bat an eyelid at helping." He had to be referring to Logos and Pneuma and then the shot focus on N's sword and Matthew's gauntlets. Have to assume the implication that's them.
Yep, I think the pneuma core is responsible for Ouroboros powers and that’s why we don’t see them in person because they helped the queens in making the stones and the power. How exactly Logos ended up in the sword of the end but yep, what gives the sword of the end it’s power is most certainly the logos trinity core.
@@F89_ I would think it's more Pyra and Mythra. Logos' core was destroyed at the end of XC2, and Pneuma's core separated in 2. One core is the Ouroboros' Knuckles or Knuckles of the end (like N named it), the other is the sword of the end
@@Diblox_ well at the end of xc2 there was the one rex had that pneuma gave him and when pyra and mythra came back they each had theres so really there were 3 of pneuma crystals but i still think that its pneuma for the gauntlet and logos for the sword mainly because A only talks about those 2 and not pyra and mythra or malos what i think could have happen with logos is before malos dies theres some purple dust kinda going around the room maybe that went somewhere and it helped make the sword idk but what makes no sense to me is the one glimmer has because when she fights rex and shulk nothing happens with her no green energy or anything like idk why maybe hers just isnt as strong as pneuma core even though shes pyra daughter unless the creators tell us whats going on i dont think we will ever know i hear people say that pyra and mythra are the sword and the gauntlets but to me that makes no sense like i can maybe see them helping make the gauntlets by giving them a core crystal but the sword seems a bit much plus its purple like come on i just hope pyra and mythra are with rex thats all i want but idk if i will ever see it personally i only bought xc3 for this dlc and the fact that pyra and mythra arent in it just stopped playing deleted xc3 and went back to xc2
@@Diblox_ Logos' core was destroyed, yes, but for all we know its shards could've been used to make Origin and then later were integrated into Ns Sword of the End. The purple glow from the Sword of the End definitely matches Logos' core crystal, anyways, while the one in Matthews knuckles obviously matches Pneuma.
@@Justic_ to add to that, N's core leaks logos purple and there's a strong chance noah's lucky seven also has the pneuma core because it displays similar effects to the gauntlets. Gives you something to think about ey? Well, Idk maybe this is my cope for logos being my personal favorite core
Takahashi ending his Xenoblades with as a last message, from both Rex and Shulk, and also Matthew who looks like Fei : "Do your best, and do not worry if you fail or cant do it, at the end, just let it go to the next generation, pass the torch" is at the same time both contradictory with his own life never giving up to achieves telling the story he always wanted to tell, and also really beautiful when you consider that, soon enough, he gonna gives the lead of Monolith Soft to someone else who gonna keep living his legacy. I really think he couldnt end with a better message, it shows so much from his beginning as a cocky and ambitious realisator in 1998, knowed as someone asking a lot to the people around him, to a mature man doing his best to gives to his employees the best working conditions and trusting on them for what's next.
From what I grasp, the Shulk and Rex who are both stuck in time in their original worlds are fine, the origin copies/this worlds version of them are dead. We can’t forget that this world is in a alternate reality where the 1 and 2 worlds have been stuck in time before they could merge making this one, nothing in this world is real yet it is. It’s a fabrication of what a United 1 and 2 could look like, everyone from both games are still alive just stuck in time in their original worlds
There is no “stuck in time.” The 2 worlds destroyed each other. The purpose of Origin is to recreate both worlds like the collision never happened and “restart” time from that point when the collision was supposed to happen. At the end of XC3, that is not the original world we see young Noah and friends. That is the recreated world with the data, memories, souls from Origin.
There's no "copying". It's rather clear It's the same people trapped in an endless cycle of death and rebirth. Linka has dialogue wondering why the few that weren't trapped in Origin got out while everyone else did. Souls are a things that exist in these games.
Even then, we know this but we'll probably never see the future of their lives, xenoblade 4 will most likely take place in the United world shown at the end of the dlc, but I would be surprised if there wasn't a time skip, it would seem strange for another calamity to hit the world in Rex, Shulk and Noah's time, while it would make me very happy to see the characters that were left out of this story (mythra's daughter, pyra and mythra themselves, zeke, etc.) they already saved the world twice (at least shulk and Rex did), 3 times if we count origin's construction, they should definitely enjoy their time of peace as they definitely deserved it The only protagonist we know that makes sence having more story would be Noah, as the worlds united successfully, he and Mio are in the same world, which means that the after credits alluded to their meeting, while a whole game about that wouldn't make much sence, it could serve as a side plot where we get to see that Aionios, while it's something that should have never happened, has an influence on people subconscious, as Noah still recognizes Mio's melody, even though he is supposed to never have heard it Other than Noah I don't see anyone fitting of continuing the xenoblade story other than a new character in this new united world with new stakes some hundreds of years in the future
So what happened in the main story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was the hope that Shulk, Rex, and A (Alvis) foresaw and passed down to the heroes who would come after them. I will say though that I find the timeline of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to be the most confusing out of all three mainline games for many reasons. Doesn’t mean that the story is terrible. Far from it in fact. Just that the major events leading up to XC3 can pretty much send me on a loop and I don’t want anyone explaining to me what’s going on. Already finished the main story of XC3.
This dlc was crazy, they really looked at N and said, "let's make him sympathetic" Well, he still murdered a lot of the villagers, so he still remains a villain, but he didn't want to do it just because, he wanted to destroy Alpha, which is quite interesting and while he doesn't say it, he probably feels remorse for killing his son On top of all that M sees what he did and he takes the blame for the destruction of the whole city, while that was not his original goal Although I do have some gripes with this, wasn't destroying the city the thing N had to do to get M back? Which means they retconned his goal to be killing Alpha? I don't seem to remember very well the details
I also thought base game implied N had to kill the Citizens for M to become Moebius, but it still makes sense here. He destroyed the City to stop Alpha, because Alpha would have destroyed his endless now. So indirectly, destroying the City meant getting to stay with Mio forever
I think getting M back was just a way for Z to convince N to kill Alpha. N probably wouldn't have cared much about stopping Alpha if it didn't bring back M in the end since if M didn't exist then he wouldn't want to live in the endless now as Moebius.
Unless I missed something, I think N was there to kill everyone in the city still, for M. However Alpha took the opportunity to save whoever was left through Nael. But when N and Nael met, that's when things got crazy because N recognizes Alpha as an immediate threat to the Endless Now.
In Colony 9, Rex and Shulk's students say that almost everyone was assimilated by Origin during the disaster, but the people who fought alongside Rex and Shulk don't know why they were spared
It wasn't even just the people fighting along side them it just seems that some people were simple not absorbed into Orgin and made it into Aionios as themselves.
That explains how Ino remembers the basic concept of Blades and seemed like she just woke up 😂. Artificial Blades aren't capable of getting absorbed by Origin
Both Rex and Shulk come across as 2 men who have been fighting for a very long time in the DLC suggesting it’s been YEARS since they’ve seen their loved ones.
I remember doing so really rough estimations and came to the conclusion that both of them are over 130 years old here. My logic was based on origin activating 15 years after the events of 1 and 2. N and M being the 4th at least incarnation of Noah and Mio so at least 40 years there, and Ghondor being at least 60 years old.
But we never got to know what happened to Pyra and Mythra even Nia Morag and Zeke's blade too right should they be immortal?😢 and where are they right now?
I feel like they and Fiora passed away naturally alongside Zeke, Pandoria, Brighid, Tora, Morag, Reyn, Dunban and Sharla. Meanwhile, Rex, Shulk, Nia, Melia and Poppi opted to "continue on" to help save the world. Rex and Shulk should be long dead by the events of the dlc since they're walking next to great grand children.
@@adamaulia1945 yes I get that I saw it a glimmer’s chest and mathrew’s gloves but I means is that where are Pyra Mythra even Pneuma’s body they didn’t pass away through naturally death right?
@@Justforvisit I was kinda worried if he was still around or whether they could get him to voice alvis again. I was so happy to hear the same va for him.
I take this as them taking over the 3 parts of the trinity processor, so as to keep Aionios going till the proper time IE end of 3. Then once the worlds merged properly at the end everyone returned to life and lived happily ever after. This may the end to this story of Xenoblade but the franchise is far from over
@@paul-nj1ig because N is not gonna hand his sword over to them and call it a day. pneuma core is seemingly the source of ouroboros power, taking matthew blade with pneuma core and ouroboros power a way mean there will be no way to save the world from the" endless now" and the world is fck forever.
@@paul-nj1ig Because the Logos core is separate from Malos (dead) and the Pnuema core is separate from Pyra/Mythra (currently stored inside origin) They need an avatar, someone to manage the role of the Trinity processors. The cores themselves can’t do that since their respective persons are unavailable, which is why they need Rex, Shulk, and Alvis to succeed these roles to make decisions (one reached godhood, the other is a Master Driver, so it makes sense why they’re able to fulfill them)
Bruh i needed more, like for one to see mythra's kid and two to get a barbeque scene with all the caracters in the combined world with Noah and Mio's and all the couples.
I do wonder about Pneuma and Logos’ references in the DLC: Im guessing that in the first ever war against Mobius, in order to give everyone an edge to having a change at winning, and if Origin was constructed from Ontos’ Core Crystal, then a power, similar to Ontos, would be the perfect counter to Mobius. In the first ever war, something barely discussed, Mythra and Pyra sacrificed their physical forms to empower those with the power of Ouroboros, but as Z kept making more and more Agnian and Kevesi soldiers to get rid of them, they reduced to what is shown in the City. Which would explain why Matthew had Pneuma’s core crystal, as he was a “representative” of Ouroboros and with the Sword of the End: Logos. As for Logos… I believe due to Malos taking some of Pneuma’s core crystal information, there must’ve been a shadow of him left inside her, which was enough for Mythra and Pyra to recreate something that resembles Malos without Amalthus’ hatred when salvaging the ruins of Elysium that possibly crashed into the sea. Hence is why they were able to use Logos’ core crystal, to create: the Sword of the End, and why it had affinity towards the Gauntlets of the End.
Idc bro I want the next game to have Shulk & Rex as part of the main cast. The end of Xenoblade 3's base games would've freed them. I want them to be relevant to their last breath dammit
Suddenly I composed a theory for all that happened: 1. the origin was took over by Z, as the time freezed, the core of the origin :Ontos, Melia and Nia got drawn into Aionios. 2. the time flow within origin is different from outside world. Since Rex and shulk got inside origin just slightly later, they entered the origin at least hundread years later in term of Aionios timeflow. Within this period,N fought Z countless time. City has been found Of course ,When Melia was being captured and Nia was hiding herself. They caught up with what happened but not the whole picture.Still they went against Z later until Ontos lost control too. People who are originally respondible for running origin didnt got assimilatedby Aionios and hence joined the party of shulk and Rex. 4. Since Melia, Nia and Ontos are the new trinity processors in Aionios. Melia got similar power as logos while Nia got Pneuma. They realized their power can be used against Z thus incorperated them into the two "End" weapons before they are being captured/limited. They both gave their weapon to the people from city sharing Vandham bloodline. Noah became the one who is worthy for the sword while Ghondor was suitable for the fists. 5. A , Shulk and Rex act as the new trinity processors after decline of Alpha and the lost of Melia as well as Nia. These seem make most sense to me.
I keep seeing the back of Shulk and thinking it's Mythra lmao 😂 I wanna see Pyra and mythra so bad! We got a gigachad rex already--what does Monolithsoft plan on doing next with this series is my question 🤨things have changed a lot since the og XC on wii, that's for certain lol
5:21 Sora: so this is goodbye to you two Shulk: sure thing sora and also say hi to kairi for me and rex Sora: I will and I wish to have your arm back and you too rex which as your eye Rex: thank sora good luck finding her Sora: bye you two
i'm really surprised rex didn't have more to say about matthew having the core of 2 of his wives inside the gauntlet think you'd have more of a reaction than the silent "ahh! that's where they went!" he did also can i say DAMN YOU ORIGIN! falling on the coolest places and wiping them out so we can't see them in the main game i'd have killed to see the ruins of places like the unvisited mor ardain or the true colony 9 with the ouroboros party
I know that they’re talking to Nikol and Glimmer, but anyone else feel like Shulk and Rex are talking to us, the players when they say they’re taking a breather?
I feel like they will start a new xeno series in the combined world and we will see both their families in it as cameos and they will possibly be playable in however many years it will take
This is actually very depressing that our favorite character shulk and Rex disappeared I was hoping they would be more frequently in the original Xenoblade chronicles 3😢😢😢
Nope they ain't dead whatsoever. Actually Xeno 3 resets everything meaning that all the events that happened during FR and 3 reset and Alrest and Bionis and separate again!
There are two main theories, but as I was writing this one couldn't be true because of what happens to Melia. Riku existed pre-Aionios. Everyone who survived the merge became immortal, basically (A theory is that, since all of Aionios happens within a single second, people who survived, didnt accomodate to the warped time of Aionios, so theyre still aging to the pace of their original world). This was explained by Linka. This is why Shulk, Rex, Panacea, and Linka were able to live without dying of old age. Melia was locked in origin at the beginning of the Merge so she couldn't of met anyone who was born after. Meaning, because she knew who Riku is, he had to have existed in Bionis.
@@Kickass778 I mean, there's an optional dialogue between Riku and Matthew that basically confirms that Riku is the son of either Riki or Kino. He tells Matthew that Melia is his Masterpon and that his Dadapon used to be on an adventure with Melia. And based on what we know, he could only know all of this if he was from Bionis.
It is very simple. Origin which was powered by Alpha. Because Logos and Pnuema wasn't present he was just a machine. A machine that only wanted to preserve the new life the city people and take them to the new world. However his conscience A *Alvis* wasn't gonna allow that. So in the midst of Origin booting up when Aionios happened. Alvis only managed to save Xenoblade 1 = Shulk, Melia, Panacea, Nikol, Riku, Noah, Eunie, Lanz and Joran Xenoblade 2 = Rex, Nia, Linka, Glimmer, Mio, Poppi As for Ino is probably spared with Origin for Xenoblade 2 Everyone else remained nothing but a memory in Origin. So Alvis who is now A is keeping them alive alongside Shulk and Rex. Which is why Z took control of Origin because it means he can gain control of all the souls and memories of the people of the old world and bend it to his will.
So, wait, why did Rex and Shulk have to become Avatars alongside A? A makes sense since they're Alvis - more specifically Alvis' conscience - so perfect replacement as an Avatar for Aionios, but Rex and Shulk glowing yellow particles confused tf outta me.
speculation but they could of been avatars originally but were thrown out when alpha tried to take full control at the start of the game and they were simply returning to that role.
With it being stated that Ontos requires both Pneuma and Logos I assume that A is retaking their mantle as Ontos, while Shulk and Rex are taking the mantle of Logos and Pneuma.
@@Dajopa-is-here This perhaps the best theory but still confuses me, since Alvis was able to be Aionios' Avatar by himself, so it still begs the question why the two are needed. I assume it's because Takahashi wanted it those three taking their place as Avatars to be symbolic of the end of the Klaus saga but didn't really add much to the why.
I was honestly expecting too cry or something during the end of the dlc but no one ended up dying and it was more of what's too come kind of thing maybe this is a set up for xenoblade 4 where all 3 casts attempt too perfect the world's merging
I love the touch of the camera zooming on A's eye during "I can see it, clear as day" basically mimicking XC1 having Alvis at the end say "I have seen it."
@@anzack2551 Rex did say, "Cheers to ol' Klaus, his gifts just keep on giving." I'm starting to believe that Klaus' "final gift" mentioned in that post-Malos fight cutscene had something to do with why Pyra and Mythra were able to awaken again and the same might go for Logos. Maybe the revival of a Trinity processor that's independent from the Conduit that disappeared in 2
Origin consists of two sides. Moebius and Ouroboros. The fearful and hopeful wills of Origin. They are essentially the gods of Aionios as Z stated in FR. The Sword and the Fist are both weapons related to the Queens in one way shape or form, because via resonance you can embue feeling into them and gain power from said fearful and hopeful wills (this is how Noah had a Moebius Blade pre Consul N days, that you need a strong desire to protect in order to interlink or how the Sword of End gave Miyabi her memories back). Both weapons essentially used their Origin Metal to interact with the hopeful wills of Origin and Pneuma seems to be a general representation of that. Same way is Moebius essentially Logos and Origin is their input receiver as a Ontos based construct just like how Pneuma and Logos used to be for Ontos. Humanity came on their level basically and Xenoblade 3 essentially is a internal struggle of humanity having to decide to move on to the future and accepting their fear.
no, they tell you that they are just helping/waiting/taking a break until the next generation fixes the mess that Z created. then everything resets and Origin is successful and happily ever afer.
@@Zephyr16 I mean, this technically IS a sacrifice, but given Origin's purpose they're "dead, but not really" since they'd be restored once it's properly activated at the end of 3.
God the VA for glimmer feels so out of place , feels like that game that had all these actors and chuck noris and the game ended up being crappy with bad voice acting😂
Alpha is presumably dead. Alpha was running Origin up until his defeat, so when that happened, someone needed to replace him to keep running Origin in order to maintain Aionios. A replaced Alpha. Rex and Shulk needed to leave because they were taking the places of Pneuma and Logos in the trinity processor to keep Origin running
@@joseferrerjr2710 I think the correct answer is both yes and no. They're dead in aionios, but once Origin is properly activated at the end of base game 3 by Noah and his party, they would be revived (or maybe "restored" would be a better term? Like when you lose data but have a backup), as every life that existed in aionios was preserved within Origin.
@@Nicolasacmf its neither revived or restored. Everything just reverted back to before the world collided. As we all seen with the Noah stating he zoned out for second. Now you can say restored when the two worlds successfully joined together again as seen after the credit.
