These dances have a "caller" and we hear many callers. I just want to know what they are calling for? Maybe they are calling for rain or they are encouraging their brothers and sisters who are dancing?

@@RedCanyonWolf they go throughout the year on different days, there's some that happen in New Mexico's Pueblos too. But they haven't been having them lately bc of covid
Yes. My daughter is half Hopi. I stopped going to the dances years ago as I and my elder children got disgusted with seeing people there, including children, kick in the ribs and throw rocks at the stray, starving and severely neglected dogs that wonder around without food and water. They do not care for these animals so how hypocritical is that, dancing to honor life when at the same time abusing it? This is not what being spiritual should be about! Their treatment of these stray dogs is horrible and exists to this day. That is why I raised my half Hopi daughter as I did my eldest two children to be kind and loving to all animals as I was raised and we feed any of the numerous strays we see, oftentimes finding them homes, shelter and care . I got tired of going to these dances and crying. I would tell these people straight out to stop abusing the animals but they just laugh while spitefully continuing in front of me! Upon phoning and speaking with other tribes up north where I was born they too said that animals and people are very disrespected in the South West tribes and the Northern tribes refuse to acknowledge them because of how horrible they behave.
@@elishevacapobianco-s4731 calm down Karen not all of us are like that.. Im an animal lover myself an its frustrating seeing people treat their dogs an cats so disrespectful... quit stereotyping all of us when you only saw a handful of people do it.
@@hopiboy12 It's true about the way Hopis treat animals. And you're proving it by calling this lady a "Karen". It shows you can't handle truth when it comes at you. Hopi people are some of the biggest hypocrites out there! I personally laugh at they're so called "Peaceful People" lifestyle. I've lived on this reservation and seen first hand alcohol and drug abuse, disrespect of elders, disrespect towards their own religion, and now even murders happening. But they try and keep it silent while promoting to the outside world of being people of holiness and righteousness.
