Putting the iPhone microphone test in black and white creates a bias in perception. Should have left it in color for a fair review. You can tell the Schure microphone is better though. With that said, your explanations were clear and your review was very helpful. Great Video! Thanks!
Finally. Good review. Every idiot on RU-vid just spends half the video talking about the mic then using it in their quiet room. I appreciate you going outside and showing the difference with the ambient noise reduction.
I wish you had done the review, much of the review at least, using the MV88; looks like you recorded most of this presentation using the better MV7. So, you kind of demonstrated MV88 not feasible for making this kind of YT, and not likely to be used for vocals, etc.
Sure Shure is quieter but not that impressive to warrant the cost, at least in this video. Damn the Rode Videomic Me-L, it keeps stop recording every 5-10 minutes for 1/2 a second. Bought a new one and same thing with my iPhone 13 Pro. Reddit users said same. Updated mic with Rode app, tried different apps, tested iPone intern mic, its the Rode!
Be aware that the iPhone mic is STEREO...So you hear a much wider and fuller and more immersive sound. The Shure MV88 is a single mic...which is MONO. Good for podcast or a voiceover. But it's not to replace the iPhone's internal stereo mics...which are absolutely amazing...and can pick up the deepest bass and highest highs..with beautiful built-in processing and limiting. You can shoot a sporting event or a concert, and it sounds amazing....and with the new iPhone...when you zoom your video or change the lens from 1x to 2x, or .5x .. the stereo sound field, "CHANGES" to follow the video perception. (Which I believe is a bit 'freaky' and annoying) But as far as a voice mic, the Shure MV88 isn't bad...low noise and smooth.
@@marcotronic good point too, I tested something tho. the Shure MV88 and MV88+ usually do a good job of making those loud booms at concerts not sound so boomy, which in my opinion makes the recording bland. Sometimes a weak mic that can't handle those loud booms from the bass makes the recording so much better. It all depends on how close you are to the source of the sound. Maybe if you are right in the front row at a concert you'll benefit from the Shure MV88/MV88+
@@Daedroh How to avoid the hissing noise while recording the audio in quiet condition. With the microphone while recording video its picking up some noice and hissing sound getting added. How to avoid this?What settings in the Motiv app ur using?Please let me know.
