This is a movie that should never be allowed to be "spoiled" by anyone. If you have not seen it, don't read about it. All you need to know is that it is a scary and psychological thriller. And oh yes, it is a master work of art.
Because of this comment I’m not going to watch the trailer, I will come back to you once I watch the movie and I’ll tell you what I think about it. I only came across this movie because I knew my dad watched it and I just finished watching the thirteenth floor
I seen it already, a few years ago but I usually don’t remember movies well, I just remember I liked it lol. Guess I’ll watch it again lol. It won’t be like the first time though, I probably remember parts as it plays out.
I have seen a movie with the same story, a journalist with blond hair and glasses. The movie is allmost completely the same! He visits an asylum to find answers to an article, and when he goes down to the basement he finds him self in the dungeon cell.
the movie is brilliant, and the actors played their roles at the highest level I know, I can easily put this movie in the top five, the best movies I've seen in my long life. I'm impressed and delighted
@@clouds8646 it's malayalam(a language from the southern part of India), they are here because of a movie called "Athiran", which is similar to shutter island in many ways
I knew it was a thriller movie, but I didn’t know it would be this kind of thriller. Leonardo DiCaprio did an amazing job!!! Tbh, I thought it would be a lot scarier, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I only watched this movie because of Leonardo DiCaprio, because I heard that one scene on Tim Tok (If you know, you know), and because they’re taking it off Netflix at the end of this month, but I ended up really liking it, and not just because of those reasons. So good!!!!!!!! The end really messed with my mind.
I think it's more interesting for me watching it now that I know the ending, cause now I feel like I'm in on the 'gig'. The first time you watch it, you're not, but the second time you watch it, it's like you're watching it from the other side or perspective.
@@amosonyoutube The movie takes you on a ride, even if a seasoned movie watcher, that's what I liked about it, cause you find yourself double guessing your own conclusions... Any movie that makes you exercise your intellect these days deserves a trophy...lol
@@anneclaudia1491 I watched it once and fully understood the movie. It was brilliant. I’m going to watch it a second time thou so I can see all the little clues and such pointing to the ending. But not going to do that for awhile since I got a little scaired and freaked out😂. I’m only 15. Most disturbing movie ever!!
Can be viewed on Netflix..Strongly recommend and indulge into the twisted unconfortable feeling and discomfort of doubt and guilt. DiCaprio is an absolute brilliance wrapped in a Masterpiece of madness...I loved it 🥰
This movie doesn't have an open end. It has an open beginning, a big open middle and indeed an open end. It's up to you to decide what kind of insanity has survived. But this movie is not a feel good movie and it will not give you a satisfied feeling afterward either.
“we gotta get outta here Chuck, whatever’s going on in this place is bad” that got a good crackle out of me, I was never confused one bit, I’d just seen inception
@@learndevelopment they were about to release him but then his doctor had to do one final observation to see that he’s still in his senses after the breakthrough prior but my guy had regressed, so they had to keep him still, that’s why the doc went back to being Chuck
It was The Dark Knight that made Christopher Nolan a household name, but it was Inception that proved his name alone was a selling point, and that audiences weren’t just fans of Batman and the Joker, but Nolan himself. Inception was an invitation to the filmmaker and to audiences that said (to quote Tom Hardy’s Eames), “You musn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.” An ambitious sci-fi project with an all-star cast featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hardy, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard, Ken Watanabe and Michael Caine, Inception blended heady concepts with crowd-pleasing blockbuster elements. It’s a cinematic union that Nolan has become known for in his efforts to create high-brow, yet audience friendly, spectacle.
@@14reasons58 a lot of people would prefer the book over a movie. Most even say that the book is usually way better than the movie. For instance, Harry Potter. Younger generations tend to under appreciate the art of a good book. This is coming from a 20 year old. I personally don't care which I do first. This time, I listened to the version on Rotten Mango's youtube channel and it encouraged me to watch it. I think anyone's preferences should be respected.
This book is based on the novel "Shutter Island" by American crime novelist "Dennis Lehane". Other film adaptations of his novels are "Mystic River" and " Gone Baby Gone". These movies are equally good.
It's quite simple...i got in first time...when i was watching this movie..even i was confused.. till i saw this climax scene.. it explains all... "Which would be worse: to live as a monster or to die as a good man".. and he choses to be a good one and decided to be lobotamized.. because he can't live with what he's done.. and yeah the roleplay did work..some other confusions are the interrogation of lady when she drinks water then teddy couldn't see the water because teddy developed a phobia of water as his kids were drowned and that lady also wrote RUN,it bcuz she's a mental patient and she wants teddy to run away as that was his last chance..And atlast it's just a movie...take it as that only😉
This movie should have been nominated for best picture!!! It’s so f**king brilliant!! But because it’s a thriller and it’s not political it can’t be since this is the oscars we are talking about
My brain hurts 😫, I don’t know what to believe I got my own conspiracy theory’s, I just can’t believe he’s actually crazy my brain just won’t accept it. At the end I just kept thinking don’t fall for their trick. Then they made me think he’s crazy as well I’m lost. One of the best movies I’ve ever watched it’s 100% in my top 3
Cognitive Dissonance, Amnesia, Dissociative Identity Disorder and Compartmentalized Memory. Having to be validated to know you exist and know who you are. David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock took on such concepts. This was a really smart take on the Psychology Thriller.
I woke up to what the Oscars really are (boldness in speech, cowardice as a rule) in 2011. Zero nominations. Zero. Editing, photography, sound... Zero nominations.
This movie was great❤ You'll be so focused on Leo when you watch it the sexond time. This movie shows you how people on a new job or new area will act just to get information from you..God bless the Director
@@jb76489 uhhm.. After watching the movie, yes. It's obvious that I was saying I never watch a trailer before the movie. If you didn't get that you should seriously go see a doctor, brain cancer is a thing and we can cure it
