This is a remarkable collection of verious types of engines. Considering that all countries owe their new standard of living due to some engine working away remotely in some other part of the country then all modern countries would have an engineering museum depicting the ingenious machines they built. It all started with tools like hammer and chisels and plows which had to have a human handling them as they were not independent of humans but it was when an engine reciprocating on its own without human intervention did the world advance as it did. In 300 years the industrial revolution brought about improvements in other professions including the medical and transport and product production and even the household where most homes owe their luxuries in tangible engineering products and no hospital can be efficient without each corner having the engineering equipment which even helps doctors see when the eyes cannot see and the ear cannot hear. An engineering museum depicting the engine's history should include all types of power plants including steam, diesel , gasoline, jet engines, rockets but I guess if we allow rockets we would have to include small atomic reactors as a power plant. Rolls Royce are now working on producing a small atomic reactor where a portable electric power plant is now possible. Congratulations to all in that video showing the SHVP open day, the Music from engine and instruments is a delight to an engineer. Well done, Keep it active.
