Yeah I was just introduced to her, and by god she is like the artists of the golden age of music. Not one bad song on her record, and they all come together to tell you something, to feel something.
The “Cléo de 5 a 7” references are too perfect. The cat, the hair, the decor that unwinds at the end…Shygirl, the existentialist queen we need and deserve in 2021.
@@bambi1637 Hello! I’m glad you liked it, it’s one of my faves! Here’s a few suggestions with the same vibe: Persona, Deserto Rosso, La Peau Douce, Belle de Jour, Hiroshima mon Amour…Do let me know if you like any of them! :)
@@andriadariuspancrazi5369 Ooo thank you I will check them out for sure! I already have watched Persona and I loved it so I’m sure I will like rest of them 😇
The integration of the classical musical element is really interesting over the house beat. Not heard much of that before, if ever! I wasn't too sold at first but with that added layer of musical texture it's quite beautiful. Obviously Shygirl herself slays every frame!
@@mardus_ee Thank you very much for the suggestion- just listened and found another awesome song! It's got a kind of Groove Armada beat but defo similarities with the string element... CHEERS!
@@FluentlyFletch I remembered two other really good songs: • Madonna - "Frozen" (a bit downtempo), and "Nothing Really Matters". The latter is uptempo, eclectic, and really timeless. These two tracks are from her "Ray of Light" album, much of which was produced by William Orbit.
@@FluentlyFletch Adding a few more: "Don't Tell Me" by Madonna, and "Confide in Me" by Kylie Minogue. Both are as evergreen as they can get. "Don't Tell Me" was produced by Mirwais Ahmadzaii.
@@FluentlyFletch Edit: Oh dear, I forgot, I'd already replied with "Don't Tell Me". Just been listening to this song many times over, and then somehow forgot, that I'd already posted the suggestion to you. But yeah, that entire song and video are masterpieces. Turns out, that some of her best music has string arrangements.
I like that her and FKA Twigs taps in on some industrial without blatantly ripping off what we do here in yankee land. It is refreshing to hear something new creative and progressive.
i adore whenever you tap into this multi-dimensional, y2k, futuristic artistry. also, jakwob AND sega bodega on production!? i'm floating towards the clouds.
This is a song I will show my mom as she is a music teacher and strings are just👌🏻, this is the song I will show my children in the future to make them fall in love with classical and modern music and how they can go together! 💙 amazing so g and vocals, and that cat 😍
So I just discovered you and I LOVE YOUR SOUND there's something magical, retro-futurist about it... it personally takes me back to 2010s european pop music, sorta echoing the vibe of romanian bands like Akcent
I'm in love with every single thing that Shygirl does. It's a different style if we compare this to some other of her songs, but I really appreciate how she's changing and searching for new sounds and new things. ❤️
discovered this girl over new years... She is so damn hot. Literally fire. Her music is so unique and special. I hope she gets famous but i dont want her to ever lose herself. Music A+++
It's fucking stunning. 🥲 Just continuously amazed and inspired. The lux orchestral bits, the subtle reference to that classic house beat, and how it sounds almost like a continuation of the sour candy remix, I'm just shook its so *chefs kiss* big brain energy. Got my depressed ass out of bed to dance for the first time in a week. Thank yall. 💖 Beautiful werk!
Played all your tracks today upon Melonhead's recommendation of Cleo, and this is my favourite release from you by a large mile, mostly in part to its musicality and cinematic feel. Incidentally, I love the feminine confidence you put on display, not unlike Rina Sawayama, Caroline Polachek and Christine and the Queens. The pretty outfits you put on are also more tasteful than what Lizzo would typically do for herself - although you do make a conscious effort to flaunt your curves, they are less indecorous and more elegant in execution, which makes all the difference for me. You look like a soothsayer with psychic powers in that blue draping outfit, while also rocking that stunning red feathery dress like a regal queen!
Wow. Trinity, Phoenix and Powders have been in my rotation for all this year. I’ve got a bad habit of rarely feeling captivated to explore earlier/other projects from artists. AAAAND I WAS FIRST-LISTENING TO IRISIRI JUST ABOUT LAST NIGHT- I’m deeply intrigued by the wholeness of this record. I knew this track from hearing it in a soundcloud mix when i was abt 15 and wondered where this came from. Discovering it’s from one of my forever favorite artists really was like if reality slapped the shit out of my face and unscrewed each screw to make it all fall apart
