I were at this match. They dont show it on this footage for obvious reasons but after Billyhad his head ripped off the trainer actually comes onto the ground, picks his head up and sticky tapes it back on.Amazing work.
Mit Bener cause you can run without a head but you dont stay alive for long 20-30 seconds you can walk or run around without a head well chickens can anyway
errr. Napa got NOTHING for his first head-butting incident but was told by the NRL to fix his tackling technique. When he didn't do as told to of course they came down on him harshly. I like Napa as a player but hope for League's sake he has corrected his technique. Can't have him just leading with the head and concussing blokes.
@@warrenjensen4670 Fucking tosser, name a better full back to play the game. guarantee you are a fucking crying ass New South Welshman because you cannot handle QLD players playing in Melbourne and dominating the game.
Not only with massive force to the head, but that's also a very late hit. He got only a 5 week suspension for that. Slater was so concussed he couldn't remember a full two weeks prior to the incident.
@@justrynahustle6064 As opposed to having the free time to applaud someone for potentially severely injuring someone else based on which footy team they play for.
I was so frustrated by the reaction to this. Soliola was already committed to the tackle. He was hit ten frames after the ball was released, so it wasn't late, and it was only high because Slater slipped. But everyone wanted blood because he got injured. It reminds of the Andrew Gaff incident from the AFL, where he was trying to punch an opponent in the chest, but the guy slipped and he shattered his jaw instead. It was an accident, but he was suspended for eight weeks.
@@TheShepdawg9 so you're saying he deliberately wanted to knock Billy out and potentially get sidelined for a very long time? Use your head, but in a better way than Billy did
@@Braddicus84 you're holding football players to the standard of rational people. Do you not watch enough football to know that deliberate malicious acts occur all the time, vacant of the ramifications? Chad Townsend almost tried to kill ponga two weeks ago, people eye poke all the time (and get caught), Pangai jr plays as though he wants suspensions. Yes, in this instance, he tried to hurt slater. Happens all the time.
Eufrasio Soares or he’s laying there because the doctors are worried about the injuries he could have received? I’m not a huge fan of billy but cmon bro
most bias competition ever, he only faced 5 weeks because it is billy Slater. He was clearly slipping as he got hit. He he was standing upright Sia Soliola would have hit him around the rib cage. BS
A send off needs to be an extremely reckless, or intentional illegal act. If Slater hadn't have slipped into the tackle, and was hit in the same area, I believe a send off was appropriate. The fact Slater slipped turned this, as bad as it looks, from a send of to a report, the result of which he got 5 weeks for.
This happened in the opposite corner to bay 57 where i sit lol they had to wheel him passed us and we were laying it on thick lol "Sia Slater Billy!" one of the very few times someone didnt get clapped off the field for a hit on them like that lol Sia how ever became royalty to us!
If you look at the slow mo it's a really unfortunate accident , the player slips and drops a good foot or more before the contact , Soliola was already committed and couldn't pull out , there was no malice , just pure simple bad luck .......
Late and high, should of been sent off. Forget the fact slater was slipping soliola could out pulled out of making the tackle but instead kept going and took his head off.
Should have been a send off! Soliola was smart, he went over to Comfort billy a couple of times! When he got the verdict he was trying to cover his smile! 😆
Holy hell what? I think in real-time he actually commits to the tackle before Slater sends it, but far out. Shouldn't matter if its accidental. Is it illegal or not? Then ping him.
🤨 you think he slipped on purpose did you honestly think he wanted to get a concussion, you sound like a NSW fan that hates slater for how good he is😂😂😂😂😂
Commentators r acting so surprised, it’s the correct call, slater doesn’t slip he gets hit around the upper arm n is fine, it’s unfortunate he slipped, but he had no intent to go for his head
Remember when 60 minutes gave Cameron Smith a spray for him talking to the referees when the player was still hurt on the ground. No one says anything about Croker. 'Hes halfway to the ground, it's not a send off.' Imagine the crucifixion he would have got if Raiders had won as much as Melbourne has in the last 14 years.
@@michaelbovalino1284 Ok looking back on it I agree he does slip, and that's a high tackle in terms of the law - but still that's a world away from a deliberate high tackle I'm not sure if a slip should count as a high tackle anyway
If Slater had not have slipped, It would've been an easy decision to send him off. Having said that, in my opinion, he should've been sent off anyway because off the intent in the tackle.
"Good hit on slater, ganes gotten soft" *if slater were to be brain damaged or worse* "Man's that's so unfortunate, if only he didnt get hit so high" People want extremely roughh play but when it goes south people act like it shouldn't have happened and it's such a tragedy. What would you rather, protect your players or have them Carried off. Simple
