The Siamese breed is one of the oldest breeds of domesticated house cat, so they have one of the most developed adapted capacity to communicate with us humans, having so many different vocal tones and sound range.
GreyWolfLeaderTW They are the first natural breed actually. But cool - I didn’t know that about their focalization, but now it makes sense when you think about it.
@Allison Bauch some can, but some have inherited disease traits such as certain cancers and Amydolosis. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from getting a Siamese, but am wanting to prepare Siamese owners. My Siamese girl I believe passed from Amydolosis (protein plack build up in her liver). I think her brother passed from same thing. He was six, but my girl lived to about 11-12. She was absolutely worth it though. I've loved my previous cats deeply but wouldn't have traded my Siamese Applehead for the world!💗🌈She definitely was a talker!
I love how cats love drawers, boxes, sinks, etc. Anyplace to hangout and curl up to rest or sleep. And their athletic jumping ability puts them on counters, refridgerators, shelves where they sit on high to observe everone and everything below them. Such curious creatures.
He's so cool. Siamese cats have a wider range of sounds and they express themselves more than most cats. We have a Flamepoint siamese and it's the same thing. :)
So cute. Those Siamese cats have a really unique voice, this cat really has a unique meowl😉 Really was talking about something! While sitting in a drawer🤔🐈🐾💙
Too cute. Sounds like the cry of a lamb. Siamese are fun with their playful and mischievous behavior. My fiancee and I have one, and he doesn't miss a trick. Thanks for sharing this.
I love Siameezers! And I love the conversations I have with mine. She has so many different voices…I can figure out many of her desires by her meows, but I swear sometimes she just wants to talk. She chirps, caterwauls, make soft baby noises, makes demanding commands, just meows ‘cause she can. She is my special companion, and I love her dearly.
I remember a Burmese cat who sat in a drawer - my clothes drawer! I was about ten or eleven (and liked cats) - Burmese lived nearby but because her humans were away (with a temporary tenant in their house) she tended to wander to other hotels! A friend of my parents was sorely tempted to snaffle Burmese away but I believe his wife was less keen. Burmese and Siamese are both very gorgeous!
sounds so much like one I grew up with when I was a kid. born not long after I was; my dad had freed his mom from a pet shop when he had gone in and could not bear seeing a small loud white with blue eyes very loud kitten in a large bird cage.she had just one litter of kittens w/ another Siamese and they kept one. Tinker Toy (son of Ming Toy or Toi). hey; I didn't name him. this one sounds so much like him!! his mom was a beauty; he was as well, but crossed eyes. thanks much for this!!
Siamese cats are the best. My mom always had one. The lady one she had was her baby. He always acted so superior and it's like he would get embarrassed if he was caught doing cats things. One day we found him just sitting in a drawer in some clothes, just got up and walked off. Another day I found him playing like a kitten with a ball of yarn, he was modified to be seen doing something so ordinary. He just stopped and looked in the other direction. The ones I have aren't even trying to be sophisticated. Our female is short and pudgey and bless her she's so silly. She loves to dive into a pop-up clothes hamper and attack anyone or anything that walks by, but she's really sweet and gentle when she does it. Our male is part monkey and part skunk. He's always climbing and he's got noxious gas that he will unleash when my husband makes him mad. He's also a dirty little psycho who will be very calm and out of nowhere will just go all windmill on one of the other cats. Then he'll run to mama to cuddle.
This title promised three things: 1 A Siamese cat 2 that was talking 3 while in a drawer It was a simple promise. But it nailed all three, and in a timely fashion.
If you work with them you can teach them words. They talk baby talk, but they can be understood. Unfortunately, one of mine did NOT like my son, son was staying with us. Son would say, "What's up fur ball?" Cat would lay ears back and hiss, growl, whatever. Son then said "F@#& you, Sety." Sety learned to say that very clearly. Also would flip his tail when he said it. Not happy Son taught the cat that.
my siamese loves drawers & boxes like crazy! they do have their quiet times but agree with themurge once you own one you can't have another kind of cat- they are too boring!
