You don't know where my profile pic is from my cat watches animals on the tv too. It's funny. She'll watch youtube w/ me too but she'll always try to swipe things off the screen. She loves attention.
Bunker Sieben compared to the actual racist shit they had in the fifties this is way below then anything besides it’s a kids movie let it go 🙄 they’re fucking cats it’s not yellowface
Beautiful cat. That movie gave Siamese the worst reputation. When my husband and I married he said he hated Siamese and I asked him why he said he had no reason but come to find out it was because he watched that movie as a child. I had a Siamese and he absolutely loved the cat thankfully my cat changed his attitude towards Siamese.
Well, that's a horrible reason to hate an entire breed of cat. I watched this movie as a kid, too, and I never considered it a reflection on that one breed of cat. I took it as the cats being cats and they just happened to be Siamese as an excuse to do that particular musical number. Then again, I grew up being somewhat more familiar with feline personalities than some people. Didn't have any cats myself growing up, but my grandparents did and Dad told stories about all the cats he had as a kid.
That also happens with Snakes. snakes are great animals and they are such sweet hearts.. My sister has one and she is just like a tiny puppy but dumber XD
SnackCat Snakes are the most misunderstood animals ever. Almost all snakes in movies are inaccurate when it comes to their behavior (like, since when do cobras chase you? Only territorial snakes would legitemately chase a human)
What I want to know is how the movie people get the snakes to chase the actors. My experience with snakes is that getting them to move *at all* is a herculean feat. (Tried putting my cousin's boa back in her tank. She didn't want to go back, so she wrapped herself around a chair arm. Just about had to get a crowbar to get her loose and when we did, she was still curled as if holding onto a pole.)
I remember like 50 years ago when my parents took us to the movies and see Lady and the Tramp. I liked the Siamese cats much better than the dog. Funny though, my family had a cocker spaniel and a Siamese cat . The cat was absolutely the best! And I still have Siamese cats, and will always have them until I'm ready to go underground.
I grew up watching this on vhs in the 90s and loved the siamese cats so much that a few months later my mom bought me my very first siamese cat that I practically grew up with him. I also didn't care much for Lady..I was more interested in seeing more of the siamese cats lol. I also will always have siamese cats. They are the best!
I first saw this 50 or so years ago in an ornate movie theater dating from the 1920s. What memories it brings back! The theater had matinees on Tuesday afternoons during summer vacation. You could ride the bus downtown for a dime, spend like 15 cents to get in if you were under 12, and get a bag of popcorn and a small drink for another 25 cents. And you got a feature, a couple of cartoons, and a couple of hours in air conditioned bliss. Late 60s, early 70s was the best time to grow up!
Siamese are the most lovable intelligent cat breeds ypu will find. They are not evil in anyway but the are very very very very naughty. ....and adorable
I love that song; the whole thing is such an accurate depiction of cats, in general. One of my cats just gave birth to a couple of kittens... turns out, I've now got a pair of Siamese mix kitties. Pretty soon, they will open their eyes, and get to checking over their new domicile. Glad my faithful dog seems to like cats; since I agreed to ONE cat... and a 2 weeks later, somehow have 4...
My friend had Tonkinese cats and they'd sing this song to them, except it was: "We are Tonkinese if you please, we are Tonkinese if you don't please, We are former residents of Tonkin--you'd better listen when we're talkin!" I love the Siamese/Tonkinese breeds.
It maybe just my imagination but, the cat seems to differentiate between the dog and the two felines. It is fascinating to watch and the whole video is adorable. Many thanks.
Oh my gosh this is so cute!! I have a Siamese cat too, and I always sing him this song. He loves it! He will purr and roll over. I thought he was the only one, this is so precious!!
It's weird how some cats get tv and some don't.. One of my cat's loves watching birds on my phone or FHV, but my other cat acts like she doesn't get it.. Idk, maybe she just doesn't care lol...
Becky Lynn My theory is that some people is reborn into animals, and they remember a few things of human life... that's why some are "smart" and like to watch TV and take photos, while others don't.
Becky Lynn My cats are the same but the one that watches TV doesn't like it when the scenes change (I think she gets confused) so tends to watch me play video games for longer.
Becky Lynn, my sister would play videos of birds on her computer, that her cat liked to watch. One thing that I found funny is that my sister's cat would keep checking behind the computer monitor. Basically, it was like the cat couldn't understand why the birds would 'disappear' when she tried to go behind them or around them.
Awww too cute! My kitty sits in front of the TV every night and is mesmerized by whatever happens to be on. Not that I can see anything, but he's happy!
That scene was my favorite part of this movie as a child. I would laugh my head off every time because of their silly voices. Both my mom and my grandma had Siamese cats, so I could relate.
A member of my church has two Siamese cats, Simon and Sophie. Whenever my dad goes to his house for church meetings they’re always rubbing up against him for attention.
As kid I often watched this movie, and this was my favourite scene and my first "encounter" with siamese cats,at that time I didn't know what Siam was , further I watched it dutch.
smothALOE The song writer of that piece is the 40s Jazz singer Peggy Lee. I like her work, especially when she performed with Benny Goodman's Big Band. She wrote It's A good Day ,her performance of Why Don't You Do Right is top notch. In Lady and The Tramp she wrote He's A Tramp also.
Mister Burgundy that's a common misconception. What actually happens is if you watch anything, be it a screen or a wall for hours at a time, particularly with screens you will perceive depth where there actually is none so your eyes will tire out due to not changing depth perception for a while.
the cats like: "you think this is a joke? because one more time you make me watch this, ill put something extra on the calendar this friday, and i wont scratch anything until then."
i just realized those two cats were evil as hell..even more so than I originally anticipated. "Maybe there's a head for you and tail for me?" Geezuz H Crust, that horrifying.
I love this so much. It's awesome! I have a cat that likes monsters Inc. I love how your boy puts his head and ear down when the cartoon cats were whispering 😊
