If I may be so bold, it is against Christian belief to continually remind listeners to a theory held by scientists that man evolved from ape. "Closest Relative" should be denoted as only a distant relative in regards to similar physiology, similar organ functions and similar make-up such as eyesight. Many of you scientists, as well meaning as you would like to make others believe, should think about the "higher power" who created the entire universe (who I refer to as God), and consider when He saw what He had done, up to and after He finished creating the ape, incorporated His greatest creation, as a design change if you will, and created Man and Woman. Whether it was Adam and Eve or Hector and Steve as the first humans doesn't really matter.
+John Echterhoff no one is going to believe the Creation if all of these religious people keep coming in with their "versions" of how it happened. It happened the way God told Moses to write it happening; the way it's written in the Bible. Not the way you've explained it. And, it does matter, both that God created Adam and Eve and not "Hector and Steve", AND He created them, and in turn, us, to be like Him. Right there in Genesis 1:26-27: "Then God said, "let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And again in Genesis 2:24: "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. "
Jo Anne Benware Hold up. 1) How does whether I know God exists or not have to do with God's plan? Whether or not I know that Saturn has rings doesn't change the fact that Saturn is a planet. Especially when others DO know Saturn has rings. In the same way, whether I know or not that God is here (and He is) has nothing to do with his plan, which is quite evident. 2) God told us exactly how the beginning of the universe, the solar system, and our planet started in The Bible. If evolution were his plan, he would've told us how that went in His Word; that wasn't how God laid down the history at all. 3) Get over what, may I ask? I don't quite understand that part.
