I have LLIM6MOSPREG (Look Like I'm 6 Months Pregnant). According to the Aire device, my hydrogen and methane levels are very high, unless I don't eat any carbs. I'm happy to not call it SIBO. Whatever it is, whatever name you give it, it's ruining my life.

Aire FoodMarble devices SUCK B@LLS!!!! Absolutely the worst thing ever from the SIBO space. Complete waste of money. Don’t base anything off of that thing. The company should be sued for scamming and completely misinforming thier clients. All of my family members blew positive regardless of what they ate and when they ate, fasted or not. It was always high, and these family members didn’t have digestive issues. I fasted for 2 days and still blew positive/high fermentation score despite no bloated symptoms whatsoever. Moreover, it gives a stupid score instead of measurement in ppm unit, which is the stupidest thing imaginable because now it’s impossible to compare to actual clinical definitions and cutoff values for positive diagnosis. It s@cks so bad and I can’t believe I soent €200 on that thing. Eat everything back again, nourish yourself with nutrient dense foods, make sure you sleep very regularly and at least 8 hours, get a lot of sunlight when you wake up and try to get at least 20mins of sunlight exposure with naked upper body daily, reduce or learn to let go of any sources of psychological stress or anxiety, hike daily, don’t do vigorous exercise, be calm and relaxed when eating, preferrably with family or friends or with a tv show on that you enjoy, and take a prokinetic, digestive enzymes, probiotics, some antimicrobials or oral FMT or any combination of these possible treatments to try out if all of those interventions don’t lead to any progress.

I am glad you are having such success with your patients! Perhaps I was a little harder to treat since I have celiac and had overcome C-Dif in recent history. I certainly wanted quick healing because it is not fun being an adult and not being able to halt bathroom emergency…to use one of your words…that is pretty shitty. Doing much better now but hard to tell if remaining issues aren’t just symptoms of the celiac and lactose intolerance and new medication given for thyroid.

@@Diamond-qs4xg I had C-Dif for an extremely long time. Took an antibiotic originally but then stayed on probiotics for several months and ate lots of yogurt. I had it for 15 months and I think my body and lots of prayer finally conquered it. Strangely, I did not lose one pound but was recently diagnosed as hypothyroidism so perhaps that is why. I think the antibiotic I took started with a “C” but I only took it for about the first two weeks after testing and definite diagnosis. Since I got the C-Dif from taking clindamycin for dental work, I was terrified of taking any more medicine.

Can you do a video on chronic infections? My issues stemmed from salmonella and a recent stool test still showed salmonella even though it’s been 9 years since the infection. What are ways to eradicate the salmonella within the body that may be hiding in biofilms or other host cells? Is antibiotics the only option?
@Ruktiet
@Ruktiet 2 месяца назад
If it is a reliable lab which showed salmonella in your stool after 9 years you absolutely NEED antibiotics wtf even. Did you do this with an actual MD? Go to a gastroenterologist and ask what to do. Make sure that stool test is reliable and medically verified. You don’t want to take antibiotics because of a scam lab, bug if there actually is salmonella in there you need a culture antibiotic resistance test on it and take the antibiotics it is most susceptible to and yet as narrow spectrum as possible to spare the rest of your microbiome

How was it possible to assess the effectiveness of lactulose or glucose breath tests if there is no reliable to test for SIBO?
@Ruktiet
@Ruktiet 2 месяца назад
By comparing breath test results with tracers and scintigraphy with duodenal aspirate culture. The problem is that Pimentel’s research group, MAST at Cedars Sinai, found 85% specificity with lactulose, which is actually very accurate and contradicts what Dinezza’s view is on lactulose. I tend to believe the latest science more than a chiropractor on youtube, regardless of how well read up she is on the topic.
@CsiguZ
@CsiguZ 2 месяца назад
@@Ruktiet Thanks for your reply. What is really strange for me, that the time limit considered positive or negative for SIBO can be different by countries. Moreover in my country some labs measure the breath at every 20 minutes, while others cat every 30 minutes. IMHO 30 minutes doesn’t give good results, especially if 1,5 hours is considered the mark for positive SIBO.
@Ruktiet
@Ruktiet 2 месяца назад
@@CsiguZ Pimentel’s research group is really the most advanced one that I know of, and they’ve tested cutoff times with specificities. They found that an earlier cutoff leads to greater specificity due to less people having false positives due to less time to get to the colon and ferment normally there with short orocecal transit time. Pimentel’s group found 85% specificity, that means only a 15% false positive rate, at 90min cutoff value with lactulose under his definition of SIBO as being a proteobacteria-dominated/overgrowth disruptive signature small intestinal microbiome. Thus it is actually quite accurate. Actually this is more of a small intestinal dysbiosis than actual “overgrowth”.

Potty mouth is unprofessional at best.
@CsiguZ
@CsiguZ 2 месяца назад
@@RuktietBTW, she refers extreme cases where the trasit time to the colon can be as low as 10 minutes. Even in case it’s possible, IMHO transit time is not equal to increased level of gas produced by the bacteria in our breath. I mean, the bacteria needs time to ferment lactulose and produce gas and than it also takes time to absorb the gas into our bloodsteam and than exhale it.

IMO is hardcore to treat and I might die because of it. I am so spasmed because of methane and food is just not going through As said by Pimentel, "We also know that if we put methane into the gut-and this was an animal trial. If you put methane into the gut, you get 70% slowing of transit. So, methane slows the gut down.Now, it does it in a very unique way. It doesn't paralyze the gut. It actually causes the gut to contract in a way that's not peristaltic, sort of holding things back. And that can be part of the reason why people get cramps because it actually causes sort of a spasticity of the gut."
@Ruktiet
@Ruktiet 2 месяца назад
If you write things like “I might die because of it”, that already shows in what a threatened state you constantly live. That is terrible for immune and nerve function and will not benefit the dysbiosis and peristalsis problems you already have. You are probably in need of new beneficial microbes to cooonize and outcompete the M. smithii, so I highly suggest you take an oral FMT and try out selectively feeding soluble fibers like FOS, GOS, XOS, HMO, etc.
@107judy
@107judy 2 месяца назад
I was also diagnosed with IMO and can empathize with jeanlouis. I wouldn't think I might die because of it, but I could see how someone may feel that way especially when it is hard to know what to eat without having symptoms, and mine are all over the place. I suspect I may have either mixed SIBO or mixed IBS/dysbiosis, but only had the standard 2 gas breath test with lactulose, not the Trio Smart as some practitioners recommend. I do not have cramps but have lost weight and find it hard to get off the low FODMAP bandwagon. I am hopeful that FODZYME will help at least with the fructans and GOS. Unfortunately, it does not target polyols or fructose at this point. The only FODMAP I'm not sensitive to is lactose, mostly because I am vegan, which makes low fiber low FODMAP an added challenge.
