Identifying the cause of SIBO is very vital. However, understanding the connection of these causes to your life is also crucial to help you create a better treatment plan for SIBO. In this video, I will share my SIBO Root Cause Framework and why learning about the root cause will be beneficial for your SIBO journey.

That’s actually a really good metaphor and distinction between “causes.” Moving away from the “cliff’s edge” is definitely not easy- but it is the goal!

Best metaphor I have seen on gut health. I have teetered most of my life on the edge of the cliff look forward to figuring out how to get to Flagstaff😊

Here is what worked for me. Probiotics and different diets didn't help me much. I take some herbs but they are probably less important than the following: 1. Good nutrition, good sleep, good exercise, and low stress. 2. Eat only at mealtimes. No snacks. 3. Prunes. Helps motility and is healthy. 4. 3 walks a day. Morning, afternoon, and evening. Helps with motility. Intensive exercise like running or lifting weights slows down motility. No one walks 3 times a day but it really helps digestion and motility. Three times is better than one long walk. 5. Magnesium. Most people are deficient. Helps relax muscles. 6. Peppermint. Helps digestion. 7. Eat some fermented foods like unsweetened yogurt, sauerkraut, kefir, and kombucha.

Some video ideas: 1 -- What if a person only can't digest meat? Like it just sits there. 2 -- A video on how to understand if you have gut issues versus digestion problems / symptoms due to dysautonomia.

Great video! I'm looking forward to the next two. I especially liked your cliff metaphor. I was hanging off the edge for years, but over the last couple months I've been able to climb back up to the edge. I really appreciated you pointing out that it's normal to toggle back and forth between the two during our healing journeys. I was kicking butt with my first kill cycle then a stomach virus threw me a curve ball. It took a week, but I got back on track. I owe you a big thanks for the information you generously provide. For the first time in a decade I really believe I'll be able to get my system sorted out and stable again.

Love your videos! Please make a video on healing uti’s naturally. I did this for the first time in 47 years of chronic uti’s. There is not a lot of information that’s useful on the internet. I didn’t understand until recently that my body needed to fight it off and it would take time because of the overuse of antibiotics. It took me almost 5 weeks to get rid of it. During this journey I’ve used marshmallow root, silver, d Mannose, fasting, probiotics, green shakes, bone broth, lots of water, epson salt baths, acv, lemon juice, meditation ( for the stress), ibuprofen, vitamin c, deactivated charcoal, and a number of standard process protocol to cleanse the kidney/liver. (I was on a cleanse when this occurred)Plus a watching all your videos to keep me understanding what could be happening in my body. I can really relate to this analogy about falling off the cliff and being on the edge, as I felt that it would feel healed and then get worse. Thank you for your videos!!!!

This is describing me to a “t”. I’m that guy who was ok until I hit the PPI. I detest PPIs with the capital P. I’m now on the cliff edge after hanging on the edge for over a decade. I’m off Betaine HCL & Ox Bile, and pretty much working to get as far away from the metaphorical Grand Canyon to Cali. I manage to get gastric acid flowing and what appears to have been a sluggish gallbladder revived again … 😥. What a journey! I like the perspective shown in the video. Greatly appreciated. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Hi Brother Caleb, good to hear about this. Awful Drs made me sick with PPIs, I've been losing weight despite eating well, lost 18kgs in last 2 years. Can I ask, did you have this problem? I have intermittent pain from my gallbladder, I've tried ox bile last year seemed to cause more pain, betaine hcl is okay so take some in my anti-candida supplement.
@brothercaleb
@brothercaleb 2 года назад
@@KevDogg683 that was exactly my problem. I’m glad you got a hold of Betaine HCL & Ox Bile… I’m not sure how many capsules of Betaine you’re taking, but this is what I did: I started increasing number of Betaine caps up to 4 caps … sometimes up to 5 (you may need slightly less or more) to make sure appropriate stomach acidity was reached. When i did this, over time it began to induce the body to start secreting it’s own gastric acid (believe it or not). Ox bile on the other hand helped clear bile ducts and helped gallbladder start secreting bile. The way I realised that I’m ready to come off Betaine, was when I started experiencing a reaction every time I took it. The same happened with Ox Bile-I get body ache almost throughout the body. As soon as I stopped I noticed my digestion was just as good as it was with Betaine & Ox Bile. My stool just as darker as before and sunk (as opposed to floating which is one of the signs of indigestion). And most importantly constipation and bloating diminished significantly. As you can see, you don’t have to take these supplements for life (which is good news!). My advice: Increase Betaine HCL up to the point you begin to feel a little warm around the stomach area. I don’t think you will do this for a long time before your body begin to show signs of a revival. Of course this depends on your condition (could be longer but will happen). If you’re already experiencing a reaction taking Ox Bile then maybe your gallbladder is pretty much alive again. Stop using ox bile but continue to support the liver (leafy Greens and maybe choline & TUDCA supplements). Remember you can induce bile secretion by eating bitter herbs and fatty food. I’d suggest you incorporate Apple Cider Vinegar in your diet (I add about a tablespoon to half a glass of warm water and drink with a straw. One other tip is increasing vegetables and make sure you stay hydrated. Please let us know how you’re getting on. We got to get as many people off that deadly cliff as far away as possible. Thanks again to channels like these with lots of tips and education.

@@brothercaleb This is great, many thanks. I think I have H Pylori as I had it in 2015 took antibiotics, acid reflux came back in 2017-19, HP tests were negative but think I still had some. Got really sick after trying plant enzyme tablets in mid-2019, blood stools then diarrhoea for 2 weeks lost 5kgs. Continued to lose weight since. Will try and deal with HP using mastic gum, aloe vera juice etc, betaine hcl should also kill it. Can I ask have you managed to regain weight? How much weight did you lose? Did you have betaine hcl with pepsin or without? Which ox bile product did you use, as I tried ancestral supplements which includes liver &GB? We could probably chat on messenger if that's okay with you, are you on Facebook groups, I'm on Candida support, Gut Health Protocol, Andy Cutlers mercury chelation, SIBO survivors etc!

another good video. i can relate as my journey was similar. i was born c section with a bunch of food intolerances. i had eczema as a child related to these food intolerances. then as a child was given tons of antibiotics for sinus infections etc. the year prior to my symptoms and ibs diagnoses i was a vegetarian for ethical reasons. i had no knowledge of food/nutrition at the time and took my health for granted. i was going to college full time and working too much. i was clearly on the edge. what pushed me over i dont know for sure but a vaccination or food poisoning are possibilities. i know at this point i was dairy and gluten intolarant and my diet was almost entirely based upon these.

That's what I call medically induced PTSD, my friend. I have a post on Instagram about this topic. Either way, you'll want to work on that (therapy, hypnosis, meditation, prayer, EMDR). I can totally see how that would hold you back from healing. It's like you're manifesting a flare every time you start to feel better! You're gonna be hard-pressed to feel better permanently if you keep sabatoging yourself like that!

@gutmicrobiomequeen
@gutmicrobiomequeen 2 года назад
Probably not. And by "probably" I mean I only intentionally use biofilm disruptors with ~5% of my patients, and even then it's always for H pylori and not SIBO.

Hi Dr DiNezza, can SIBO be passed onto your children through pregnancy and/or breastfeeding? I have two young children with significant food issues (they get huge painful burps from breastmilk and food). My practitioner thinks I may have SIBO (huge bloating that went away recently with antibiotics) so getting tested but she doesn’t think this can be passed onto my children.
@dylanjersey13

Hey so I’m really confused I watched the ibs freedom podcast and saw that restrictive diets weren’t good but I also saw a video from a few years ago on your own channel talking about food insensitivities and saying to try a restricted diet for 3 months? Im wondering if aip isn’t a good idea because I didn’t have any sensitivities before but after getting Sifo and sibo I feel super tired and weak all the time and I’m pretty sure I can tolerate fodmaps but peanuts make my nose leak and I know that’s considered fodmap free same with almonds which aren’t fodmap free but supposedly low histamine
@gutmicrobiomequeen
@gutmicrobiomequeen 2 года назад
Oh boom- such a good question! To be honest, I've changed my opinion on this over the last 4-5 years. I used to do more food sensitivity testing and hunting for the "trigger foods" but eventually saw that that wasn't helping people nearly as much as I thought. It's still occasionally worth investigating, but hardly for the masses. I'm glad I've learned more and updated my material, but I'm sorry for any confusion it caused!

ive been told by my doctor that sibo/sifo can be caused by untreated sleep apnea. i have been diagnosed with NAFLD(non alcoholic fatty liver disease) and working with a gastro clinic to confirm SIBO. is is possible that several years of sleep apnea to cause SIBO? i dont drink, smoke, used any drugs. going on two years trying to figure out whats wrong with me.
