Seriously love these product reviews! and love how you included cons as well because it really shows exactly how the products functions and how it may differ to another users experience. I also find that a lot of the apps for these aquarium products are kind of a let down because the product is amazing and expensive so you think the place to control it essentially would be just as good. found the same problem with my Fluval 3.0 light, had it turn on middle of the night hahaha! but amazing review!
I have 55 gallon customer acrylic aquarium. I have been through several brands .And the Sicce is clearly bulky .All I need is one that is not storing up my substrate and creating sand dunes .Have anything in mind .Also it is a fish only tank /.
@@ParkersReef OK I'm going to try the one you recommended and where would you place it in the aquarium and how far from the surface and one is enough? Thanks for your input ,you have been very helpful.More than the aquarium store
@@ParkersReef thanks, I managed to figure it out. There has to be more than one scheduled time for it to work. I was trying to set just one schedule for the pump and it wouldn't save. Once I hit the add another schedule tab it saved the first schedule and it was easy from there to map out a 24 hour plan for the pump with 4 different wave patterns and speed. 👍🍺
I think another big pro to this is the ecosystem they're building. Wavemakers, Return Pumps, and now Protien Skimmer pumps all in the same app, plus all of the Wifi SDC line is Apex Fusion controllable too for people with an Apex.
Have you notice your temperature values change after the decimal point ? I have this pump and return pump, my pumps displays 78.0 or 79.0. Nothing between that .
looking for one for my nano, but can not get past the size of the thing, which is a shame, its the only thing stopping me from getting it. I have one in my bigger tank and even it annoys me with how bulky it is, but 2 years later and the flow is the same as day one which is impressive, quality product thats for sure.
@@ParkersReefmorning mate. it is 2.4. Not sure why it's not connecting. Sicce wifi is not coming up. I tried so many times to on off and blink it as in instructions.
Awesome - I am going to get the SDC Return pump... But now I check out my local shop and how well priced they are... ohh that's not with the controller - Still I may have to pick one up - especially as my current pump heats up my water and maybe with these if it does heat my water I can tell it to automatically slow down;)
Hmmm found them - they are like half the price of an MP10 here. It pushes more water and has a 5 year guarantee - so I will consider it especially if I can pick it up on sale
Temp should show pretty quickly, like a minute or two? Program depends on type of corals and placement in the tank. I like shirt sharp pulses, but I have no scientific reason :)
The pump is exact same as the sicce xtrem-e pump but controler upgraded, it is perfect for 12mm, on 15mm it's a tad weak. If had mine going 2 years and cleaned 3 times and runs like a dream.
Great review Sam and I'm sure we all appreciate hearing the Cons as well as the pros especially with the disclosure that the pump was provided to you. As usually a very thorough job but I'm not sure if I missed the specs on the output? What is the min and max flow? And what is the largest tank you would fit this to?
Hey John, thanks for the feedback. It flows between 1000 and 8500lph. I’d recommend it for tanks between 100 and 250 litres personally. Probably 2 on a 250l tank though :)
I really enjoyed your review of this product but you left out one very serious con. The backup battery pack is still not available and according to Sicce is not even in production yet. I live in a power failure prone area and the battery backup is really important for me. I was ready to drop $600 on three of these based on the battery backup capability for my three aquariums.
