How so? I understand the Palermo dialect but Catania dialect is like Greek to me. I can’t understand any Romanian save for a few words used in standard Italian. Both are Latin Romance tongues so a few words are bound to line up. Comu te dice “Sweep the floor” in Romanian? In Palermo scupare has two meanings. One is vulgar. You follow?

Romanian: americanul, ananasul, anul, ariuportul, advocatul, binevenitul, biblioteca, biletul, decideri, depositul, destinul, diavolul, dilicatul, dentista/dentistul, cu, mortul. Latin for "yes" was "ita", so "da" came from "ita, ida". Most the Romans who retired in Dacia were from the poorer regions of Italy, mostly the south. That's probably why.
