Sorry to hear about OneSock getting ill. Please keep us updated. The dog I had when I was a teenager had suspected poisoning from a vindictive neighbour (we were quite sure it was her). Yes, the dog had vomiting and diarrhoea but I also remember him shivering almost uncontrollably and when we took him to the vets he had a high temperature (I am sure the vet will check Onesock's temperature but do make sure they do). My dog did recover after a couple of days. Dogs are resilient and stoic creatures.
Good to hear from you BigMac. Sorry to hear that One Sock isn't feeling well, hope he get's better soon. Positive vibes from me to you and One Sock. Cheers.
For the back of the car, you can mix lemon juice and sodium bicarbonate into a paste and rub it in to the affected area. Then clean it off once it dries and it should lift the smell. Hoping One Sock improves.
Holy hell Joe, At first I thought it might be Parvo, but that came on too quick, I think. Less sophisticated poisons cause staggering and foaming at the mouth usually. My brother raised Dobermans, and he would put 1/2 teaspoon of bleach per gallon of water and let it sit for 24 hrs before serving. That eliminated all his Parvo and most intestinal problems. Paranoia is a good thing where you are. Take care, Joe.
i've had my dog poisoned 15 years back or so, and he died from it. found him in my garden after 3 days of searching, i know exactly how you feel. very happy that yours is fine, and we dont want to go to the other place. thankfully dogs are resilient. take care, man.
Joe, talk to your engineer guys about making an acoustic camera system, linked to 20 gauge... You can hear the drones but you can't see them even when over 100m away. An acoustic camera will be able to spot them so you can simply aim where the camera says they are... One sock will be fine. Dogs are very tough. Proper survivors. Stay safe!
Thanks for the update. My gardener neighbour next door says the leaves fall more because of the shortening day, than cold temperatures. Keep warm and give one sock a hug!
Dear me, One Sock sounded pretty bad, looks like he is recovering, Joe, you keep safe out there! I bet that’s true, the orcs are up to their nasty tricks again, just be on your guard - extra! Razom do Peremoha!🇺🇦🔱Slava Ukraini!🇺🇦🔱
Oh sorry to hear your boys feeling poorly... hope the vets give him the ok in the morning. The local CoOp once gave me food poisoning ( cooked ham hock)! We knew it was the ham as only me and the dog ate it and we both exploded both ends 😂🤮💩 on a serious note, chuck the meat away (or have it checked out)... not worth it!
One Sock would 100% die for you if he knew it meant he could pre-taste every bit of food you eat. Let's be real, he'd sign that contract with all four paw prints.
Poor one sock, there's all sorts of somewhat benign disease that will cause those sorts of symptoms. Several decades ago a I had a pair of dogs with a HIGH prey drive. They would tree squirrels in our front yard and sit like statues until the squirrels became complacent and worked their way down. And then they'd pounce and play with the corpse (think a great white playing with a seal). I would canvas the yard every night to make sure one didn't fester. Well the dogs decided they didn't like me throwing away their toys so they must have hid or buried a dead squirrel. I let the dogs in one night and they were playing with a dirty, rotten, half eaten squirrel corpse. I disposed of that, assumed their strong stomachs would let it pass. Went to work the next day, came home and the living room was covered in projectile shit. I threw them out, rented a carpet cleaner, cleaned thoroughly and banished the dogs out in the yard till the shits passed. I told my GF NOT to leave them in the next day, but she didn't listen... I came home from work that night to a room covered in shit again and proceeded to clean it up a second time... Anyways, happens to the best of us! Coulda been worse!
It is autumn and there are also more poisonous mushrooms, I had a Staffordshire bull terrier that ate a few, the dog also had to vomit, had diarrhea and became lethargic, with a treatment from the vet everything went well again.
Dear Joe! If you have some local trusted friend you can get your boy to the local vet to help him out (like this is their local dog) There was "Olenyatko" clinic there (there was lots of medical gear rentgen etc. And also there was some clinic near raillway station.
We are having some problems here in DK with nicotine bags, you know the ones you put at your gums, dogs like these because they are sweet, but they get those kind of reactions if they eat them. Dogs lighter then 8-10 pounds can die from eating only one used bag. But anyway, I don’t know if those bags are as popular in Ukraine as in DK, but unfortunately we have these bags laying on the ground everywhere, so we really have to take care of our dogs. But anyway, i hope everything will be fine for onesock and you
I’ve had to get rabbit piss and human/dog vomit out of upholstery many a time, if you can find yourself a tin of carpet cleaning foam it will work wonders.
Tip to get rid of car smell: When you have cleaned the dog poo and puke away, if you can: Put a bowl with Winegar Spirit in the car over night, it neutralizes the smell. Works like a charm on Tobacco smell etc. Preferably the 24% Winegar Spirit if you have that. Also/or if you can borrow an Ionizer from a Car Cleaner Company to put over night. But be carfeull to not use Ionizer TOO much because it makes the plastic in the car weaker. There are strong Ionizers than makes your car age 25 years in a night LOL. Good Luck and Greetings from Sweden!
I'd have the people taste test that serve it to you, or coulda been time/temp on meat. Listeria. Hopin for a speedy recovery for One sock, stay warm n safe Joe
I went to school with a bunch of Ukrainians in Alberta. Pretty much the same climate and same seasons as ukraine from what they told me. So I guess I'm already conditioned for ukraine winters 😅 I'll probably be in ukraine sometime next year but I may try and avoid the majority of the winter. Depends on when the legions boot camp starts, I suppose. Sounds like one Sock possibly ate something bad? Hopefully it's just a stomach bug and it'll run it's course in 24 to 48 hours. Best wishes to one Sock ❤
Privit Joe. 1/ Meat, I assume it looks and smells okay. Testing may be problematic - so how about rinsing and then soaking in water? And then test on One Sock again! Poor OS! 2/ Agri copter, does this mean you will be able to go after some of the russian drone operators who are targeting civilians in the city? 3/ I will check out Jeeps for Peace and buzz you a donation towards OS welfare. Cheers
Great news about the drone work. Sorry to hear about one sock. Please do keep us posted on his condition. Two good tests to asses his condition would be a skin turger test for dehydration pull a section of of his skin up and see how long it takes to snap back. Also check his gums. Pink is good pale is not. You can press on the gums and see how long it takes to come back to color for capillary test. Just some home checks you can keep in mind. Good youve got him heading into the vet. Always best especially with bloody stool. Best wishes to you both! ❤
I know how much you enjoy unwanted thoughts and opinions Mac so I'll offer mine on OneSock 😉 He has many of the symptoms of a concussion or similar to a dog who hasn't basically been trained to ignore pain in their very sensitive hearing from loud noise and over pressure... So perhaps he just a bit of effect from being near the training range for an extended period of time... Even intermediate cartridge firing 30-100m back would be "loud" for dogs not used too or trained for it. Although you know his history better than me so maybe you can skip some another unrequested suggestion! 😂 Hope he's on the mend! Stay safe and keep the Team Mac mascot safe dammit! (Maybe donate that meat to any annoying soviet babuskas in your apartment block... They are too annoyed and stubborn to die from even the strongest poisons, so no worries about that, but they would complain WAY more than usual next time you saw them 😆) 💪👍
Put the meat in the freezer until you can get it checked, seriously, it's not paranoia..... They can check it in any hospital where they take blood samples etc.
When you hear clopping in the streets, expect horses not zebras. That is go for the most likely explanation rather than the least. Most likely it was a bad cut of meat, or he ate something rotten from the floor. I would bring this up with the store people.
Try an electrolyte tablet before bed to stay asleep longer without peeing or a pinch of salt in the water to retain more water and pee less frequently. The salt is an old gym trick to retain water and consequently pee less often. I found they both generally worked but sometimes hit and miss. Hope One Sock is alright 🐕.
On shotguns for anti-drone duty, ending at about 3:13, I'm not 100% sure what BigMacs is saying about somethin being better than a tactical Mossberg, or something like that. I can only guess, but I think that is more about the firearm in the context of being in a car and brining the firearm up to fire. If you can always keep your firearm out it is less of an issue, but a car is a confined space, and some "tactical" shotguns are long. They aren't meant to be used in cars, where the space is too confined to get the shotgun up and out smoothly. However, ideally, if you're stuck with using a shotgun for anti-drone, a reliable semiautomatic one is better than a pump one, unless you train for it well.
Hope, One Sock keeps getting better. Having an accident in the car is annoying, but understandable with upset intestines. Against the smell in the car you can work with bakingsoda, sprincle it on an let it sit over night, then vacuum it away. If it still smells realy badly, using 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water as a spray, but the car will need airing out after, or you might feel like a pickle on the run. Might help, until you can find someone professional.
Yes it is a good sign if he had not been willing to drink, I would suggest lepto as a possibility Dogs usually get vaccinated for that, but its a family of bacteria, nad each yrs vaccine tries to address what they think is the most common forms, they do not always get that right
@fatfeline1086 good stuff mac brother hope he is picking up mate Colin and loving military family from the uk God speed to you all fighting for our freedom over hear in the uk.so many folks are ignorant to this fact that Ukraine is what's beetween us and them mac.im from a military family and long line of freinds hence my knowledge .Ukraine is the front t line for all of Europe freind.Great You Like The Drone Team I no its A good one Have new for years. Proud of you my freind .hugs to one sock
I am so glad to hear you are taking One Sock to the vet (whisper it) tomorrow. I'd definitely want to get him checked out, too. Enjoyed this as usual. The John Wick reference had me laughing hard 😂
Sorry to hear about one sock, dogs are pretty tough, just make sure he gets lots of fresh water and dont feed him for a day. The blood in poo is probably just cus hes damaged his intestines from the diarrhea
One sock has really bad anxiety for the car and loud noises, my dog had this for the longest time, no fix I’ve found unfortunately, might just have to get one sock a friend and leave them home together while you go off
regarding getting up n pissing every 3/4 hours, i long ago ( maybe 13 years ago) perfected the technique of being able to piss whilst lying down and just last week i finally managed to be able to piss into an empty bottle WHILST lying down. (finally no more piss soaked bed clothes or mattresses to deal with....reckon i reckon you could learn to do this faster and it avoids you losing most of yr body heat during winter.....
im quite sure воєнна розвідка України wouldn't mind a sample of that meat. in the nav we used to say "keep your head on a swivel". u know what i mean ))) дякуємо вам козак
