The SEAL training seemed hard until he got to the drug and alcohol issues and then this account turned into a nightmare. This has to be the most honest retelling I've watched and I've watched a lot of them.
Shawn Ryan is AWSOME! So glad he found his way and started his podcast. We get real recent accounts of high speed operators and fun conversations also serous conversations. Incredible!
amazing interview. I remember when I was a kid and SOCOM U.S. Navy SEAL's game came out, and after that I was hooked. That game offered a little documentary that I'd watch over and over... really changed my mindset and how important it is to never give up.
Was a firemen for 32 years and had the opportunity to work with a number of retired SEALS who transitioned into the fire service. Most, were very quiet, hardworking and attentive to their surroundings. The one flaw, if you can call it that was that they tended to go after it way to hard and not consider their partners level of mental acuteness and professional drive. NOT ONE WOULD TALK ABOUT ANYTHING EXCEPT BUDS, that says a lot!!
Shawn seems like such a chilled out nice likeable dude, its hard to picture him as the stone cold killer he must have been at certain points in his career.
Funny how that is,if you're a construction worker etc, they're Not interested or,you're a Stinkin pervert. Took a lot of time, prayer and contemplation to accept and be understand. It's All Jesus!🙂
This was an amazing look into your career Shawn! I can only imagine your emotions when someone on the street sincerely thanks you for your service. I am truly one...
Just anecdotally the sheer number of people helped by the psychedelic therapy is wild. Why they’re still not fast tracking it as a treatment is very confusing.
I was in the army over 4 years as a carpenter and spent six week in the internment resettlement specialist which was a prison guard where I was supposed be a guard at Guantanamo at one point 😂 phew dodged that bullet 😅
Points of contact with the body. With a rifle, you have the stock in one shoulder, your hand on a pistol grip, and the other hand on the barrel. So it’s very easy to control in a precise manner. With a pistol you only have 2 points of contact and your arms are outstretched, so barrel movement can go all over the place: up and down, left or right, even side to side while the muzzle remains parallel to its original position. So it’s far less accurate. Rifles are pretty darn easy to shoot accurately. I can take friends who have never fired a rifle before and get them putting rounds on target in minutes at 100+ yards. Pistols take a LOT of practice to get good at a fraction of the distance.
A lot of kids grow up looking up to these dudes. And it also attracts people who have no purpose and are looking for something in life. He has a podcast called Shawn Ryan show where he interviews a bunch of special forces people.
I would love to hear how they spent 20 years and trillions of dollars to achieve nothing of value. That would be an interesting question to have answered.
7:41 let’s close our border and stop getting entangled in problems in the world we don’t need to. 99% of our global interactions have made things worse, at great costs to us - i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Vietnam, etc
Shawn Ryan has become a MAGA, right wing lunatic, conspiracy theorist. He is seriously either in for the grift, or he is just a genuinely a bad person.
@@uninteresting-content-dumpHaven’t met any SEALs, have you? This is their culture. It’s definitely a work hard play hard type of group, as are most special operations unit. What SOF unit were you in?
Guy sounds like an empty head. He was a GaMER and Woman Chaser, SO COOL!! They couldn't hold a candle to the average marine or corpsmen from the greatest generation, many of these guys have given up their integrity. This guy is basically just repeating the plot-lines for American Sniper and 13 Hours: Secret Soldiers of Bengazi.
