I was an student athletic trainer at The Colony High School, and we played a playoff game in this stadium against Highland Park in 2013, we got destroyed because our all-state RB had torn his ACL the week prior and he was responsible for about 80% of our offense. Really nice place, nicer training rooms than a lot of college stadiums.
I moved to Dallas from the Caribbean 8 years ago. Allen High School is nicer than every single university in my country. And it's not just the field, the entire high school is amazing. I went here for a basketball game when Tyrese Maxey was at South Garland HS and it was the nicest school I'd ever seen in my life. I was about 30 when I first saw it and was genuinely jealous because where I grew up, we had nothing comparable to this.
@@johntell4333 The irony is that only stupid people think this. You don't know how schools work. A school doesn't make money. It requires funding from the community. The education is always there. Schools have teachers. Building a big stadium doesn't change that. It's not prioritizing one thing over another; it's IN ADDITION to what is otherwise always there. Education is not reduced when you build a big stadium. The people who TEACH have zilch to do with it. If someone gave you a big house to live in, it doesn't make you dumber. This is just you being an idiot.
It's as good as any high school library you can imagine. Libraries don't cost 60 million dollars, so it's not in the news. They have a nice stadium. They didn't have to sell their library to build it.
I graduated with Jeff Okudah at South Grand Prairie and had him for a class. He would wear the Ohio St stuff every day and I got to even meet the infamous Urban Meyer. Coach Meyer is taller than you would expect as well
I played football in Grapevine TX about 30ish years ago and that stadium was massive back then. It's still around and has been updated since, but it is nothing compared to the new stadiums being built in Texas.
This is in Collin County Texas, where I live. The High School football zealots here have built or are building two other stadiums like this in the county for High Schools, and that's not including the 12K seat Dallas Cowboys practice facility (The 'Star' in Frisco, TX), which is crazy nice too. I love H.S. football too, but....wow.
Stadium and facilities are way more impressive than the number of NFL players the program has produced. 9 doesnt turn heads as much as that stadium does
I'm from Windsor Ontario Canada and our biggest stadium holds maybe 1,000 ppl ... went to a few High School games in Michigan and Ohio ... love the excitement just HS kids bring!!
Great gridiron football field. Whether anyone graduating from the school knows Mussolini isn’t a type of pasta or that the logic in the scientific method was proven in 1620, who knows? Given the state of politics in the states, I doubt it.
Hopefully the school district spend as much money on educating children as they have on that stadium. There are times and places that invest more on sports than would on the tools needed to educate.
I just moved to prosper tx and I played football there for a season but never got any playing time because I suck but that’s besides the point, their stadium is $30,000,000 and the stadium is amazing
I played in McKinney, the town that LITERALLY borders this stadium, and they also have a 100M$$ stadium, and then LITERALLY the very next towns to the north AND west all have 100M$$ stadiums as well.
Massillon's Washington High in Ohio seats 20k and has a lot of future NFL players call it home. Not to mention Ohio State coach Earle Bruce and the future coach of tOSU, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals, Paul Brown
They're actually really good. This is in Allen, a North Dallas suburb with a lot of $$$. This HS is so nice, it's nicer than the universities I went to 🤣
I went to marching band competition and Allens band took at least 5 mins for all the people to walk out, there tubas were worth more than our entire band.
Just to be clear they have thousands of students at that high school and the Allen school district refuses to split up into separate schools solely because of the football talent
I went to mckinney highschool and we played them every year I personally witnessed some of the most unethical football ive ever seen they recruit players, city wont let the highschool get broken into multiple schools so its 3000 kid highschools like us and boyd vs Allen’s 6000, on top of that they pay refs and record other teams practices in 2018 my senior year we caught them filming our practice from the woods next to our practice field and in terms of playing clean forget it they will cut block you and twist your ankles in tackles this school needs to be put in their place but no ones gonna do that.
there are universities from D3-FCS that have smaller stadiums than this. I find it absurd that this stadium doesn't host a national title game for D2/D3 or heck, even FCS considering it's almost the same size as Toyota Stadium in Frisco, TX!
I see them at our regional marching band competitions, unfortunately my school is in the same division as Marcus Hebron and flower mound so we play them in football and at competitions every year
9 players made it to the NFL? That's it. What are there like 50 players on a football team? Studies show 87% or more of football players develop CTE. So we're just giving kids brain damage for our entertainment on the hope that they essentially win the lottery by making the NFL (avg. NFL career is 3 years, btw).
Bruh the Allen Eagles women’s basketball team came into the Whataburger I work at the other day and there wasn’t even back ups. But somehow they can do this crap
