Your disrespect of all things Kerry King tempts me to rage unsubscribe. That BC Rich V looks top tier compared to the monstrosity he came up with a few years ago.
Anybody, ANYBODY Who can stick Steve Vai’s JEM ANYWHERE but legendary, should give up guitar completely, take up the oboe or something. You are technically a way, way better guitarist than me, but I now look down upon you.
I'm wishing he did, I already was saying that the British Steel cover is the only iconic Razorblade in all of metal; MGK only got his to the forefront only through "controversy"
@@zzodysseuszz They are similar, but Paul Stanley used it about 30 years before, and it is actually a real broken mirror, Marty's one has a kind of purple reflective material with the same pattern.
I used to work in the Guitar Gallery at Sweetwater so I have played a lot of these. Despite its looks, the Nuno Bettencourt Washburn is an incredible guitar. It sounds great, has unparalleled upper fret access, and has a super comfortable neck. 10/10
I was in the guitar store to buy my first guitar. I want to buy a Les Paul, but then I saw a Marty Friedman Kelly (1998 Japan). I had to buy this guitar. Plays very nice.
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!! 2:13 I just saw this guitar in a dream without knowing it existed! I swear, I just had a dream last night where I was in some sort of thriftstore and I came across this guitar with odd cutaway and covered with lots of white stripes. And now it turns out to be real in this video! This is so weird and kind of creepy.
Man… when I was a kid I was obsessed with that Marty Friedman Jackson Kelly. I would bring my Musicians Friend catalog to school and show all my friends on the bus how awesome it was… and no one cared. 😂 it was hard being a metal kid in the 90’s. I still want that guitar in the worst way.
Everyone has their favorite signature guitar, but everyone knows that the Sonic the Hedgehog ESP guitar truly is the most badass guitar of all time, including the Shadow guitar. Im also talking about the Shoe headstock, truly the fastest guitar in existance.
I have only been playing for 3 years and only own 5 guitars but I bought the a Schecter Loomis 7 string signature for my birthday a couple months ago and it is the best guitar I have ever played in my life. After playing this guitar for months I dont think I’ll ever buy a guitar that isnt schecter ever again. No its not a super crazy guitar but I think simplicity of its design adds to its charm and the feel and quality is the best ive ever experienced. I think it deserves more than a C tier.
The practical use of the Steve Vai Monkey Grip? Have you not seen a Dave Lee Roth Band video clip? It's to get a good grip on it before you toss it over one shoulder during the drum set-up for the solo before you begin to shred and tap so divinely, it makes poor Eddie Van Halen take a step back from his spot in the Band in Heaven to shed a tear...Now please move it up to legendary.
Basically a rear loaded strat (no pickguard) SUPER STRAT ! The Bumblebee on the back of Van Halen 2 was the first rear loaded (funny term huh 😂) strat that I ever saw. So after that 'Bumblebee' Charvel was made, most companies followed ( Kramer, Bc Ritch, Ibanez, etc). The LA metal scene yielded lots of cool super strats FROM lynch, DeMartini, Keel, Rough Cutt (Amir Derakh), etc.
Dave Mustaine Rust In Peace is one of my favourite flying v ever made... Both James snakebyte and vulture are ugly as fuck, I do like Max Cavalera RPR, Explorers and AX, and new Kirk Hammett V, holy shit...
I'm sad that the handle on the JEM is a mystery to you. Vai had spoken about why he chose that many times over the years. It's just a whimsical Steve Vai thing. This is not a guy who takes himself too seriously.
I love my signature guitar. It's one of the first. In fact, the musician himself designed it for Gibson and it kinda kickstarted their whole deal. Might've heard of him, he used to shred next to Mary Ford, who as a shredder herself really needed her own signature guitar.
Not super heavy metal, but I believe other iconic guitars are these: 1. Stevie Ray Vaughan's teared wood Stratocaster 2. David Gilmour's black Strat 3. Slash's (yup, I know...) sunburn Les Paul
Why no Jackson Rhoads? It was the first offset V and the very first Jackson guitar ever. And there is the whole Randy Rhoads angle, and it's the coolest v. Back in the day the most metal looking guitars were Jackson Rhoads and BC Rich warlocks.......
@@Kyle_Eversit can't be your opinion whether a thing is iconic. Wtf is wrong with people? In my opinion, 2+2=4. Either state a fact or an opinion. A thing can't be both.
ML>Razorback. Remember dreaming over so many Dime MLs in Musicians friend catalogs! Razorbacks, not so much. Reminds me of an energy drink can design or something. I know Dime loved em, so no hate there, just not my style.
Obviously claiming Dime is overrated is clickbait.... Nobody with a brain would believe for a minute that Dime is overrated.... If anything he's underrated.... Also Lexi's guitar is just a rip off of the Jackson V so it doesn't rate💯✅
The handle on the Jem is surprisingly useful. I've got two Jems, and I find myself using the monkey grip all the time. It's kind of silly looking, but I honestly wish all guitars had them, from a pure utility standpoint.
I got one of those Schecter avenger things practicly for free. Never been a fan of Synyster Gates but the guitar is fenomenal and the bodyshape grows on you, thankfully mine doesn’t have that stripe paintjob. The shape is the definition of fugly!
Dimebag's Dean guitar feels very good to play on: Strings very close to neck without buzzing. It sort of feels like it plays itself. Downside: It's very big, and heavy. Massive guitar!
John Petrucci guitar not legendary? It literally outsold almost every guitar on this list. From what I've read it's one of the best selling signature guitars out there. So many people have this guitar. As for the dave mustane V, i think it's in A tier. It got so many people wanting to play Jacksons and King Vs.
I'm absolutely in love with the Ibanez JEM and I feel it's definitely up there among the most legendary guitars like Dime's and EVH's signature models. Absolutely gorgeous
@@awguitarroom8033 After owning both, yes. The Deans (Korean AND USA) are the least nice of Dave's endorsed brands. They also sound the worst because of the Livewire pickups. That being said, my main point is that the Gibsons are better than meh, and the Deans are less than legendary.
@shelbyavant5081 I've played his Rust in Peace dean signature and his new Gibson as well and I liked the Dean more. The Gibson wasn't even finished really. The back of the headstock wasn't sanded down and for the price you pay for it those little things are inexcusable . To me it doesn't play as good as my 400 dollar Ibanez. If it's a preference thing that's fine man. You have yours and I have mine. I've also owned a bunch of Dean guitars throughout the years and I've always loved them so I may be a little bias. That being said my father in law has an old les Paul and it is one of the best guitars I've ever played feeling wise. So I got nothing against Gibson or any guitar company.
BB king's lucile Jimmy hendrix upsitedown white strat Steevie ray's strat CHUCK BERRY THE FATHER OF ROCKN ROLL'S 335 THe vanhalen frnakstain LES PAUL'S THE LOG some of the beatle's rickebeckers are also pretty iconic idk man not the best list but its what i got at the top of me head
Brian May's guitar has a really cool history behind it. His father made it out of a table top and a 100 year old wood beam from a fireplace. There were also parts from his mother's sewing kit. Also, that guitar has never been refretted
I just recognized that MAB 4 Neck Guitar is all Floyd Roses, the poor guitar tech. Also I remember reading about the monkey grip in the JEM, iIrc Vai literally wanted something to grip and carry his guitar when outside of the case.
Nigel Tufnel's 8 pickup monster. Legendary. If this guitar belonged to anyone else, it would be in shitpost. Willie Nelson's Trigger. Legendary. Prince's guitars. Legendary.
