Yeah it's sad to hear about Bob, from nivlac 57. The whole YT just watched them build that car from scratch, wasn't even dialed. And make no mistake, Bob is no amateur, and he's no newbie. He's been racing his entire life, and if you want to go on his channel, you'll see ol' Bob and his 73 nova regularly puttin' that green beast on the bumper. No joke, that Nova has seen 1 o'clock, many times. So, to see how hard they worked on one of the coolest cars they had yet, that 59 Volvo, day in and day out, is sad for me to see. I am a huge fan of Calvin, and his family, and my heart goes out to them. You know, you always hear that, when somebody has died. From me, you'll only hear about it when somebody has lived through a bad accident like that. Cuz let's face it, once you're dead, nobody really gives a shit. It always seems like someone gives a shit more when they died, then when they were alive, when it actually mattered. So, I'm glad to hear he's okay, and my heart goes out to him & his family.
It was insane for sure couldn’t believe it, last I saw online he’s in the hospital with broken ribs and bruised organs but doing ok and staying overnight to be further checked out
i really hope to see more cars running diapers. these guys are getting fast, and the crashes are getting worse. I cant say he wasnt running one but it looked like spun in his own fluids.
@@lcpeterbilt379 Not sure how much a diaper would have helped..heard the block got windowed pretty badly, and this car was running a wet sump system with a pretty breezy engine compartment..pretty hard to contain a couple gallons of oil in a 140-ish mph wind.
Worst response time I’ve seen from emergency services at the track In a long time. If he was unconscious and the vehicle was on fire someone should have been there sooner
There's not 50 different vehicles at the track to cover emergencies. Therfore they take into consideration what they do have and they place them where it's most likely they will be needed quickly. Unfortunately sometimes crazy stuff happens and the car ends up over the wall, with poor access and a long ways away. These "safety safari" guys are the best in the business and the ALL give 110% to helping where they are needed as fast as they can do it. Even with criticism from people that obviously think they have enough personell and vehicles to cover every square inch of the grounds. I assure you, they were doing their best, not sitting there having a sandwich and most likely wearing full fire protection all day to ensure the racers safety. What were you doing other than thrashing on your keyboard about something you know nothing about??
I still can't figure out why the safety crew isn't at the far end of the track. At the launch, there's fire extinguishers and lots of people all over and it's usually a fire, not catastrophic. At 125 to 200 mph, that's going to be a long ways from the starting line and that's where the Carnage happens. That has always left me confused. It might be a more enjoyable for the safety crews to be watching at the starting line, but it certainly doesn't make the drivers safe.
@@dandowns9669 so you say its just fine that they cover where theres zero need for them to be... sure sure. If they are so fcking GOOD at what they do, why can ppl without any experience as a safety crew point out whats wrong here... wake up son.
It was Calvin's dad Andrew driving. Calvin is running the Fairmont Wagon. Calvin just posted an update on his dad..he's in the hospital for observation, bruised & shook, but not broken..supposed to be released tomorrow. Car looks to be a complete write-off. Anyone interested, it'd probably be a help to this awesome family if you went to the Nivlac57 youtube channel and dropped some coin for their merch..
Oh shit, I'm watching the video now I hope the hell it's not Calvin, or his dad. Damn....they just built that thing and put the 4200 in it.... if it's a red 59 Volvo, turbo 6, I'm going to cry.😠
Was it a 6.44 from Cleet though? The board is dodgy, I'm thinking it was 6.94, especially with that spin halfway. Guess ill find out when his video drops :)
What’s it going to take to realize They need to treat drag n drive one day events at each track like a weekend event , you’ve got cars going 6.25 with no track safety team in place
@@thomasshaffer96 It was loose at the WCF after a full season of being beat on..and now it's tight. Putting that kind of cylinder pressure into that block is pushing it to (and beyond) the ragged edge. Begging for a catastrophic failure.
Just a helpful hint. It's easier for us to see what you're talking about without the obstruction. Besides that you should have more viewers because you're the first and most complete coverage of all the tubers. Love the coverage sorry about the criticism in the first part. Good work, thank you
Thank you for watching, I don’t believe there were any obstructions in this video like day 1 I purposely stood at the fence the whole time so the poles weren’t in the way
Wow what a horrible response time from the staff at that race track. So many fast cars in this event there should be emergency crews on both end of the track at all times. I hope that person is ok, it didn’t look good.
That's the driver's wife..she's an awesomely cool lady in a very stressful situation.. Someone should have picked her up. PS Your sense of humor blows.
