Sick cooler but he didn't even think about it. Mariano would never do that with a K of diamonds on a 4 flush board. And Andy doesn't block the any of the straight flushes. If he had A10 of diamonds or A8 or diamonds I could see how it was a 10 second think and call. But literally I think the only hand Mariano shoves over a $125K overbet is with a straight flush. I have watched Mariano quite a bit. Never a K high flush there shoving

and A10 of diamonds is obviously a snap call. mistake on comment as A10 of diamonds blocks all straight flushes. AK of diamonds is close to a snap call. A8 of diamonds i think is a 20 second think and maybe fold. he doesn't block any straight flushes

Sick hand. But as Andy said, he could have folded there. The 4th diamond makes it impossible that Mariano is overplaying a weaker flush. And after raising that huge bet on the river he isn‘t bluffing anyways. I mean he showed pretty quick. If he would have tried an insane play like bluff all in with the 10 of diamonds for example it would be absolute madness because Andy has so many nut flushes there. And Mariano is just not the type of player to make such a risky minus ev move

Yea I can't understand Andy's snap call.. Mariano (or anyone for that matter) is never trying to bluff against what is clearly the ace of diamonds. Getting all the money in would've made more sense had the flop been C-bet. The massive turn raise is okay although I like slightly smaller sizing to allow more of opponent's soft range to continue considering the strength of your hand and reduce variance when board randomly pairs on river and you get sucked out on. But what are you targeting with the giant river overbet? Most worse strong hands that could call less will easily find the fold (all sets, lone king of diamonds, etc.), and the two better hands you lose to will jam. There is no bluff range. If you don't give your opponent room to bluff you and they give action... it's not a bluff...

Not to be annoying, but I think Andy did have a reasonable chance of folding. There's 4 diamonds out there and Andy has the ace of diamonds so he knows Mariano does not have it, but Mariano shoves for $250k anyways. I know its extremely hard to fold there, but I don't think anyone at this level is shoving $250k with the Ace of diamonds unaccounted for, on a board that's 1 card to a flush, unless they have a boat (impossible in this case) or something better (a straight flush). I think it would be much harder for Andy to fold on a board that was 2 cards to a flush instead of just one, but in this case I think he could've folded.

The pot didn't need to go to $600k, the only mistake was 120k river bet, once made he had to call the all-in. A smaller bet and maybe he can get away....maybe.

This is the same guy who got it all in with AA against TWO players with KK preflop. Never seen such a sun run in my life. With respect, I hope it ends soon because from what I’ve seen on past streams he’s not a good loser and has quite the bad attitude. Well played to Andy dealing with it so graciously - especially considering a few hands earlier 64 sucked out on his KK in a 4 bet pot! He’s been playing phenomenally lately so no doubt he will recoup the losses with ease.

He helped “grow the game” by being the whale for “Creator Night” a month or so ago. He lost some stacks that night but he made that up this hand (they also said he was down 50 grand, then came back with this hand). Then I had wondered if he was trying to get credit so he could invite Wolfgang and Rampage into the next Creator Night, thinking if the Three Amigos got at the same table, the fun would begin and the ratings through the roof.

Anyone who says that this is a fold all day should never play poker ever. Obviously he loses to 810 diamonds, and k10 diamonds, but outside of that, Mariano could’ve been jamming with a K high flush like k7 diamonds. How is anyone going to put Mariano on a straight flush? The way Andy played it was perfect because with A high flush, you’re going to get paid 99 times out of 100 times on that exact board. He just ran into a nasty cooler.

@ajfig6134 if you fold the Ace flush on an unpaired board you should just quit poker. Less than 0.1% of hands beat you. More likely the other player is bluffing an Ace flush.

Andy is the strongest player on these streams by far, but I was pretty shocked at how he played this hand. First the preflop cold call oop w an aggressive player left to act... after some thought, at this depth I'm sure there is a hand class that doesn't mind capping itself oop multiway, because even facing a 4bet it can call and play in a high enough SPR pot.. ok cool. Everything after that seems good, until river: Andy's river size is very interesting to me, based on the preflop action, he will have very few offsuit Ax in this line.. AQdx is only hand that might play that way preflop (tho i suspect it 4bet or folds more) but that hand is definitely not incentivized to C/R the turn. On river diamond it seems his range is at a nut disadvantage and w his exact hand can only target KKdx for this size on river.. I imagine his range does a ton of checking and/or blocking to target the non diamond portions of Mariano's range, making them indifferent.

Andy didn't even consider folding. Definitely not on Garrett's level. If he studies his opponents, he'd know Mariano isn't jamming over the top of an overbet on that board without KTdd like Dentist Dave might. That river makes his hand a fold. Even without the 4th diamond, what hand is raising all in on that texture? QQ or low flush is ALWAYS betting the flop. If he spent some time on hand deduction, it might just be surprisingly a fold. KKd or TTd miiight be a bluff but even Mariano isn't that crazy.

I’m going to play the chat pro today and say he should fold an A high flush sometimes there. When he raises turn the overbets river, he’s polarizing himself to the nut flush or straight flush, or a bluff. Mariano is only jamming a straight flush for value (removing the nut flush from his range since he can’t have it). If Andy calls every value hand to the jam, he’s over calling. AT & AK (if he even has that in his range, unlikely given preflop) are (effectively) the nuts and call. All other Adx is just a bluffcatcher. I’ve got no idea what Mariano is bluffing here, if he even is, so card removal with the kicker doesn’t really matter, just roll a randomize to decide whether to call or not (50-50 seems good)

Three days ago, I was playing 2-5 in my home casino and was the big blind. HJ raised 15$, button reraised 35, everyone else folded (including me, I got garbage). HJ called. The flop was QJ10 of hearts. They went check check, turn was a brick (5 of diamonds or some such card) HJ bet $60, button raised to $180, HJ re-raised to 360, button went all in and HJ called. HJ had 98h and button had AKh. That was the sickest cooler I have ever seen in my life. Good for HJ there was a bad beat jackpot to soothe his pain, but still...

This is one of the sickest hands I've seen @andystackspoker involved in since the quad 9s vs 10s full hand versus Jackie years back at @latb. Andy even mentions that he played this worse than the Jackie hand. Just unreal how pure @mariano runs. Whether it's straight flush versus nut flush OR HIS A/A in a 3 way pot versus 2 PLAYERS with K/K & K/K. Just unreal.

Or not. Fifteen years ago, I was playing one of the six-max nightly $5 rebuy PLO events on PokerStars and the following hand came up: UTG pots it and is called by the BB. The flop comes QJT, all diamonds. The BB pots, gets repotted and they get it in. UTG had 98 of diamonds and the BB, AKd. Still can't believe I saw that.

On the River I am a bit surprised he snap called, king high flush no longer is going to raise you should just call the overbet so it is straight flush or air and hard to see air doing this.
