Sickle Mower Success - Massey Ferguson 50 Diesel & MF 32 Mower 

Love it! Similar setup to the old Ford 501 on an N series tractor. Love those old Fords/Fergusons! Simple..and still as effective as ever!

It takes a few rounds to polish the guards and bar up before the grass slides off easily. Best to take some gas or diesel mixed with used oil and pour on the sickle when running to help it out when its not shinned up. A few passes they will shine and shed the fresh cut hay 100% better

Sickle mowers make great hay also cause you're not beatin the leaves and heads off the grass just cuttin and layin down... You need at least five good days of weather though without a tedder.... All I had then was a sickle , rake and baler but boy it was the best hay.... Now we got haybines , tedders and even spray preservative cause we gotta get done in 3 days... Seems like were still makin good hay but I wonder if we compared em bale to bale which was better... You better rake that up and bale it for cow hay or even fall yard decorations.... A lot a people around here's been buyin my old hay for fall deco this time a year... Mowers cuttin good...
