Sid Meiers Pirates | the Best Forgotten Pirate Sim 

Hi... I want to buy this game.

I have this game on my Computer. And it is pretty fun to play. I like it. Also in duels I chop o slash as much as I thrust. Which are pretty good too. Also I dance with all Governor's daughters no matter what they look like because they often give nice gifts if you dance well-enough with them. And said gifts really help in the long run. Loved your video.

My go-to pirate games were always this one, Pirates of the Carribean 2003 (actually Sea Dogs 3, but you know, marketing under movie name to boost sales) and Assassin's Creed Black Flag. There is not really a lot of pirate games on the market, so it's hard to get lost. I guess there was also Sea of Thieves, Tropico 2 and Risen 2.

Pirates of the Carigean is not bad but it is much more like RISEN No wonder the RISEN People did there own Pirate ! version also

You just go into a hostile port and if they have more then 100 guards it puts you into that mode​@@AJ_Deadshow

It’s the reason why I got a PSP being it was also my fav on Amiga.. Later picked up the Steam version as a backup god forbid my portable ever dies! Fingers crossed for an even newer version hopefully in the next couple of years

@@MATTERSGAMES From what I have seen so far they would have made a better game if they they borrowed the graphics from BlackFlag and updated that, the fractions and some of the other elements of this game and perhaps added exploring and treasure hunting with wildlife like arc. And a living world with free to explore hubs that really differ from each other and have living population. Will be interesting to see what your conclusion will be. In my opinion it is definitely not AAAA but I did not played it myself I only watched videos so far.

A bit to much nostalgia: No, it was never easy to create games and to sell them to Companies, Producers and the Public, That is just a myth! THAT THOUGHT is not as unrealistic as you might believe. Sid Meier did many games based on childhood memories what he had liked best so the novel by DANIEL DEFO'E: THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN SINGLETON The third part of the novel is about how the hero became a Pirate in the Caribbean to rescue his taken relatives from some sinister rival Trade´s Man. all elements from the game were already in the book.´and for that DEFOE had interviewed imprisoned Pirates in London for paying them the bill for a decent lawyer. And besides most of all Hollywood Pirat Movies were also based on what Defoe haad put in his book not to forget Stevenson´s TREASURE ISLAND Even the Dance Moves in PIRATES! were authentic for the time. Also compare the clips from "Blurksel" he has done some copies of GameStar clips like the WERTUNGSKONFERENZ von Sid Meiers PIRATES ! - macht Spaß sich das anzusehen wenn Sie wollen. SID MEIER, yes, A GOD among the Game makers to me. Even DAVID GAIDER, the head writer of of DRAGON AGE and author of several DRAGON AGE novels had written in his autobiography BEING A GAY WRITER: I have two role models for my profession that are BRIAN MITSOAD and Sid Meier.

Yeah I always thought that at the end of the day the only thing that makes a game good is the gameplay and the feeling it gives you when playing it. Other than that graphics and everything else is just secondary

It should be possible I’ve actually never fully “finished” the game myself. I just played and tried to become the most notorious pirate then end the game after that

@@MATTERSGAMES after saving all family members, I made him quit from being pirate. Found many treasures, lost in a city and fought with Blackbeard. I just hope (which that’s the only thing I can do), a new or remastered of this game to release with decent progress.

Yeah steam should have it and you could also probably find an old disc copy online. Maybe the Xbox store not too sure about that one though

the first one I played was the original xbox version and I was so young I don't think I knew what I was doing I just remember it being fun 😂

@@MATTERSGAMES yeah you should check out the DOS version. It’s on my channel. To me the lack of any other ships visually in the game makes the game sort of like I would imagine a 17th century pirate’s life would be, normal tedium interspersed with blips of sheer terror.

You have to remember the time PIRATES! came out. Back then was a big public hating going on about Video Games. Before the game came out. There were some more realistic versions of scenes to see on Conventions. At the end the CARTOONY STYLE was done to let it look more youth friendly.
