As a western black man who has visited India on many occasions, this is quite an informative short lecture on this group / tribal people. So much racism still exists in contemporary India, it's like going to the deep southern regions of the states in the 1930's. Oprah Winfrey visited the country several years back and I believe there was an effective impact on this. Watching tv in India the same black western programs were repeated over and over again. The black man shown as a slave !! This was prior to Oprah's visit. Following her visit I noticed an alteration of this with more Black American movies being shown. India / Indians even those in the west have a long way to go in overcoming a historical conditioning of racism which is embedded deep into the psyche. I'm not saying that there aren't any who are not awakened, but these appear to be few in number. One final note : The word "Siddhi" has a very profound spiritual basis. Does this denote the hidden history of the people hmmmmmm, I wonder. Do your own research people !! Peace & Love
Glad to hear an alternative as to how these people arrived. Not everything should be linked to the slave trade!!! History is questionable because sometimes the truth was bent to suit those who benefitted!!!

False. Romani are more Indian than these Africans ever could be. Siddis are just African Muslims who have become lost from their home. Bring Siddis (Muslims) back to Africa and bring Romani (Desi) back to India.
