this used to be my favorite show. I remember it came on right before "sledgehammer!"

Did anyone else recognise Don Cheadle as youth playing street thug in this episode..now he's an accomplished and respected actor

I loved this show. Deserved to stay on longer than it did.

I can't believe that was Don Chealde there! Awesome. I remember I wanted to be Ernie Reyes Jr. when I was a kid and wouldn't be distracted by the contrived setups to establish yet another fight scene. Still loved watching it though. Thanks for posting.

Oh my God, I remember this show! And that's Keno, the pizza kid from 'Secret of the Ooze'. Man, kid had serious skill back then and he's got even better skill now.

I loved this show as a kid. It was one of my favorite shows. I looked forward every Wednesday on the Disney channel.

I wish there will be a reboot to this series...as a child I was addicted...and this is what start the beginning of my martial arts knowledge.thanks Arnie jr.

Oh I definitely remember this, I used to look forward to wathing each week. I used to think wow! that boy is good, and he still is. I tell my younger brother about it, since he is to young to remember when it aired.

Dude in 4th grade i gave a kid my lunch money each day for like a month to teach me "karate" in the school bathroom on 1st recess because of Ernie. I sported the exact same jean jacket for two years too. Thanks. I really miss the 80's. Like Ernie misses Sabusan. Garbage Pail Kids rule!

I recently thinking of Erni Reyes Jr, by any chance this clip pops up tonight. This TV series made me joined karate club during ny elementary school. But then, they re-ran CHiPs at the same time with karate class.

this is awesome that its on.....i used to love this series ...i was a little asian american kid and when i saw ernie ...other than bruce lee he was a such a role model to see because he could kick ass...i was so sad to when there were no more episodes...i kept wondering what happened to the show and now i finally see it on youtube...thank you to the poster you are awesome!

The original pilot was a one-hour episode, originally presented as "The Last Electric Knight", part of a "DISNEY SUNDAY MOVIE" double-feature on February 16, 1986 {the other hour was the unsold "2 1/2 Dads"}. ABC bought the series for the fall of '86, and retitled the half-hour series "SIDEKICKS".

Ernie Reyes Jr. Kicking Don Cheadle's butt. So so fun. Kevin from The Wonder Years as his friend. Too cool man.

I really missed this show

But two of the best kid martial artist i have ever seen in the 37 years i have been alive are Ernie Reyes Jr.and Kane Kosugi the sons of Ernie Reyes Sr.and Sho Kosugi but there grown now like me they were kids in the 70's-80's.

Man, it had to be like 89 or 90 or so when I would see reruns of this with my brothers. I was maybe 5 or 6 years old. We would watch this, V on the early sci fi channel. Alien Nation. The A Team. and My Secret Identity where jerry oconnel played a kid with super powers.

Little Ernie Reyes jr....sooo cute. He was a blackbelt by the time he was 10 I believe. Interestingly he'd be from Patu San in this. This country was later added into the movie Surf Ninjas with the grown up Ernie jr becomming the King, and his father playing his uncle. Hysterical if you've not seen it. By the time Surf Ninjas and before that the first 2 Ninja turtles movies, he was a 3rd degree blackbelt in Tai quon do.
