What a legend! I'm 43 years old, grew up watching him on Sidekicks, TMNT, The Rundown and more, loved him and will ever love him! A true warrior and true inspiration for me and millions more. Wish him a healthy and wealthy life! He deserves it! You WILL live a thousand years in our hearts. Thanks for your humbleness and power!
SO GLAD THIS INTERVIEW HAPPENED. This is the BEST talk show EVER!!!!! I said this before: If there's one good thing that came during the Covid-19 pandemic, it's Art Of Action. Thanks Scott for the passion you put on this show. I hope you get an interview with Taimak in the future.
This guy has been one of the stapes of martial arts in film. He belongs with the greatest Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Lee, Donnie Yen, and Ernie Reyes.
Huge Ernie fan! Grew up watching him kick ass in so many cool films that they just don't make anymore. What a good guy!!! You can see the background of respect and humility which has been drilled into him by the way he presents himself and talks about others.
One of the best interviews I've ever seen with a martial artist. Ernie Reyes Jr. your background, life, the people you've met, your accomplishments, are beyond amazing. What an honor to watch this! Blessings to you sir!
Erie Reyes Jr. was & is a tremendous inspiration & motivation for me growing up & all my life. So much that everyone in my family nicknamed me Ernie's character's name from TMNT 2, "Keno". Especially because I would channel him in my Martial Arts performances like he would channel Bruce Lee. It would always go back to him, Ernie. This interview was an amazing gift for me. Don't get me wrong, I am so very grateful & appreciative. No terms, words,... to describe how much and what I think & feel. So incredibly, infinitely, beyond,... that I'm also disappointed that it was such a short tease of an interview. An extended tease of the teaser. There was no mention of "FINAL FU". One of my favorite shows. I would also watch WMAC MASTERS with the hope of seeing Ernie Reyes Jr. on there some day. Which he much deserved to be among those other Martial Artists. But, I take what I can get. Thank you Scott & Ernie for making my very long waited dream come true. ERNIE REYES JR., SIR YOU ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!! AN INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING, EXPRESSING,...
I've always been a fan of Ernie since I first saw him in Red Sonja and Secret Bodyguard. His martial arts skills are so impressive. I really hope to see him in something again soon 🤞😊
Two of my childhood, and current heroes. I LOVE how Scott is bringing all the people we love in the martial arts and action movie genre together. I've been wanting to see these types of things ever since seeing their first films as a kid. What a time to be alive!
He is such a modern legend. Been watching Ernie since I was a kid in the 80’s with Sidekicks and last dragon on VHS . And it’s awesome to see him bounce back from his kidney issues can not wait to see what he does next . He truly has the heart of a warrior !
This is incredible footage! I’m 56 and remember Ernie when he was a kid and all the gymnasts he mentioned. I mean, not to take anything away from Bruce Lee, he’s my hero, but you just never see interviews with guys like Ernie Reyes Jr. or people even mentioning guys like him! Thanks Scott, and for what it’s worth, I think you should’ve been Batman by now!
I love this show. Ernies Reyes is one of my all time favorite movie martial artists. Congrats on his transplant and I hope one day we can see him one more time on camera
Scott's a Midlands boy like myself & his love, enthusiasm and respect shines throughout all his interviews. Scott your a top man buddy & thanks for the entertaining action flicks you've made over the years.
When I was a kid, we had very few VHS tapes to watch, Surf Ninjas was one of them. When anyone asks what my favorite movie is, to this day I say Surf Ninjas. I loved seeing someone who looked like me on screen, before I understood what representation was. He was my equivalent of a Filipino superhero. Love Ernie Reyes Jr. and this interview, thank you for bringing him back into my life Scott!
I’m glad this is back Scott,I’ve never missed any of the series and again it was really great to see you at this years UKMartialArts Expo Show in Doncaster and to have a selfie taken with you too that was Amazing Boyka 💜🙏🏽☯️🙏🏽💜
Glad to see The Art Of Action back! And with Ernie Reyes Jr! It awesome seeing him in Ninja Turtles 2, Surf Ninjas and The Rundown! Such an experienced martial artist!
Thank you for this! Ernie Reyes Jr had his hands in all my favorite movies and shows, when I was young! He will always be one of my favorite Martial Arts Actors!
Great interview ... Ernie Reyes Jnr as a kid was an inspirational martial arts talent... i learnt Silat while at high school to defend myself from bullies due to great films like his ...
As a young Filipino boy in the 90s, Ernie Reyes Jr. was my hero. We share the same last name, and I remember trying to found out if we were related back when I was in elementary school. We aren't related, but I started learning martial arts because of him, Jackie Chan, and Bruce Lee. But man, I had all of his movies on VHS, and watched them all of the time.
This man completely shaped my love for martial arts films as a child. My entire family still quotes Surf Ninjas on a daily basis. TMNT2, Last Dragon. Just an absolute legend.
This series is such a fun break in the day with insights you don’t find elsewhere. Stoked that a season 2 has emerged and can’t wait to see what comes next!
I remember when he showed up in "The Rundown"...that was an awesome moment. And I was definitely impressed with how his physique and technique had evolved. The fight choreography was spot on for the film. I second Adkins...def one of DJ's better movies.
This is definitely your best interview/guest yet! I am so freaking happy you finally got to meet Ernie! That man is criminally underrated, and a true martial artist. Next up, we need Robin Shou on here!
absolutely love the last dragon didn't realize that was him and surf ninjas is one of my all time favorites me and my brothers practically wore out the vhs tape as kids because watched it constantly we also cheered so loud when he showed up in the rundown TMNT series and surf ninjas were a big part of our childhood
First off its great to see Ernie is doing a lot better health wise and second off its very awesome to see you bringing back this show for a 2nd season Scott thanks a million wonderful job as always with the interview looking forward to see who you have lined up next??
I loved every TV & movie appearance ERJ appeared in. I don’t know martial arts but his moves were always wonderful to watch. I lost my mind w/ his performance in The Run Down! Young Don Cheadle! I thought that was him!
Scott Atkins deserves so much more in his career. The nicest guy, one of the best martial artists that I’ve seen that’s got the looks and acting skill to carry an A class film, yet he gives back to those that inspired him. Respect to him and those who those who have earned his respect.
One of the first shows I ever watched as a kid was Ernie Reyes Jr and his grandpa and Ernie's character would put on this head band and pray or something and the head band would glow and he could do magic. It was amazing.
What a legend! Not only did I enjoy watching him, he’s one of the only Filipinos doing big things at that time. I hope to see him come back in the future. Keep us posted.
This is such a good show. Scott being a genuine fan of all his guest is such a key part of it. The golden harvest drum sounds getting you too pumped to watch the movie is hilarious.
It was always cool to see Ernie in movies as a kid. Being Filipino and living in the USA, it was cool to see him on the big screen and he was just awesome to watch.
i just love this Art of Action show, Scott is really doing great thing by bringing these gems guest who used to important part of our childhood memories! Maybe most of them are not much famous or acquainted but they are really talented & hard working guys & incredible martial artist, as a great martial artist himself Scott is really doing a great job! 🙏
