Demonaz was and has always been the main driving force of immortal. Abbath was obviously intregal but Demonaz wrote all the lyrics and music, and still does.
Pure Holocaust is my favorite Immortal record and for awhile was my favorite black metal record. The riffs are their best on that album and the songs and structured perfectly. Edit: cheers and thanks for answering my question.
I think At the Heart of Winter is their best album. It had the best riffs to me. But all their albums were good. I think damned in black was their worst album.
The Dawg spittin comedy GOLD today!!! Love it! I saw GG Allin once back in 93, it stands as the craziest show I've ever seen. Saw a lot of great shows this year, Triumvir Foul and Caustic Wound was probably the most brutal.

That's what classic rock radio does, they just play the same 3 songs from OUTSTANDING bands until people think they hate them. Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads and George Lynch are the guys that make me want to play guitar.
I saw Deicide for their Legion tour with Demolition Hammer and Cancer, @ the L'amours here in NY and Deicide was amazing for that era. Legion is so different from their S/T that I think people in that time were expecting the same formula from the first release. I don't know if you checked out T666 - Troops of Satan CD/Demo from Australia, they have that Deicide vibe and of course Desecrate - Call of thee Ancients Demo from Spain.
Speaking of pink sweaters my mom took me to see Deicide and Vital Remains when they toured together in like 2006. I was watching one of the opening bands, look over at the bar area and see my mom talking with Glen and Steve while she is wearing a bright pink sweatshirt / not metal at all hahha!! Never forget that hilarious image.
I remember my first school bus rides back in 84. The bus I had to take in my rural area was an hour long trip to school. The older teenagers hung in the back playing their tapedeck boombox, Ozzy and Quiet Riot. They sniffed some stuff up their noses off of their notebooks.
Unfortunately music got much worse after Hooty. Any modern country is far worse. Heard Cold Play? That makes me want to drive my car in the Erie canal and not from listening in the car, but any initial exposure.
Has anyone heard "Victims" by the Swedish band INSANE? To these ears they sound a lot like a more shred-happy version of Nifelheim. Highly recommended.🤘🏻

I always thot he just had a lisp but Idk tbh and i dont think he ever commented on the topic publicly himself, so hard to say for any of us. But nah I don't mind that he owned/wore a cute kitty cat shirt, but the problem I see is why do it for your bands interview or during a live show, etc? Do it on ur personal time perhaps?

The "Behringer HM300 Heavy Metal Distortion Pedal" is an astonishingly cheap pedal. A mere $29 on Sweetwater at the moment and that's after bidenflation. Can you name any bands of note that use it? The REV3 is an amazing sounding pedal.
The eye master was used as a pre on some revenge albums fyi. We also experimented with euronymous' set up of an hm2(waza version is what we had) in front of the metal zone which was what was used on de mysteriis but that was mostly for fun and used as a basis for death worships guitar sound
I bought *Diabolical Full Moon Mysticism* when it came out. I hated it and still do. I was like "what the hell?! It's all weak. Tons of high end, standard tuning and totally wimpy compared to death metal." I like *Immortal* stuff after that album but I didn't like *Diabolical Pink Panty Mysticism* at all.
J-Dawg I agree with you on Deicide. I think their legion tour was my favorite show of 2022. Also saw Anthrax and Carcass and Iron Maiden as well this year who both had pretty good sets/performance.
