Sidmouth - Devon - 1979 

Born in Sidmouth 1947. Haven't been back for years. It is soooooo beautiful 🥲

Back in 1981 my wife and I visited the UK from our home in Denver, Colorado. It was in actual fact our honeymoon. We were in England and Wales touring about for two weeks. One of the places we overnighted at was Sidmouth. I am an avid amateur photographer, and the morning after we arrived found me walking in the area on the edge of town where the fishing boats were beached at low tide. I took pictures of several of them, one of them being the Martha D. Really didn't think about at the time as the boat was 'just another fishing boat' to this American tourist. Fast forward to 2022, where one evening, after coming across the pictures of her, I 'Googled' 'Martha D Sidmouth' not really expecting anything to pop up. You can imagine my shock when I learned of the tragic end to Graham Bagwell, the son of the owner, Stan Bagwell, and of the Martha D herself.

The year that I lived at Sidmouth for a Holiday season. The place still holds fond memories and I still visit when able.

I love Sidmouth!

Lived in Sidmouth until I was 5, wonderful timeless place.

41 years ago and Sidmouth hasn't changed at all, except for the cars! The two little girls at 0:30 must be nearly 50 now!

Looks like a slightly younger Stan Bagwell pushing the boat out, bless him!! When in Sidmouth, always get your fish and shellfish from Bagwells along the end of the Ham, tell them Simon said so, great people and Sidmouth has still not changed that much, just a little. Don't tell anyone else though!

Hasn't really changed too much. Nice area to live in.
