Great info and video. Have had the Manticore 2 months. Two-year-old test garden coin at 20cm masked by iron. No program I tried would unmask it. I did the same thing with the FE but didn't understand why the grunt and higher tone. Finally figured out it was unmasking the coin for me. Thanks for the no nonsense approach. Cheers.🍺

I have used the Manticore for 10 hours straight and plenty of battery left. That is a great idea for a power bank. I am always worried about losing power.
Great video Sid, doesn't matter what machine you're using. You have a natural ability to explain things in layman's terms. Seriously considering buying the Manticore after being a nokta user since I started metal detecting. Just bought the Nox 600 of a friend and been having a fruitful time on land and beach. Hi Sid, got my manticore for my birthday in July but somehow detached a retina so not been able to get out! Yesterday I added your program and today I went out - within an hour I found my first gold à nice Vicky half sovereign So Thank you do much 😊

That is great information. I always hunt with ferrous on… but all the other things you pointed out in conjunction with that … not so much. Thank you for sharing such valuable info… amazing!
Finally, I got out with the manticore lovely and light , Not keen on the round shaft didn't matter how tight I did the clamps the shaft kept turning ever so slightly. Battery battery omfg 2.5hr and half of the battery gone wtf , but as I've now been told about the screen light been on full power , not used to that any ways its light deep and sensitive.
Using the 900 in a field full of 1" long iron bar offcuts that give me a 42 VDI that sound very similar to hammered silver. I've taken to using no iron bias, listen with horseshoe on at every target ringing a 42 ish and switch to single frequency 15khz. If i still get a tone, its likely a good target. I've had my best finds yet on this field. I find a fast recovery and iron bias 0 unmasks good targets from iron the best. I also often just keep the horseshoe on. I'm also noticing iron falsing sounds different, it has a little churp as you move off the target whereas a good target gives a sharper tone.

I was alright until I got up to the 'tone breaks' then I was unable to follow where your fingers were on the buttons and finally I had to do a factory re-set. So; I would like to change the tone breaks and maybe you could return specifically to this subject again Sid? Q: If I change some settings in General mode and change settings in Fast mode do they both remain with the new settings after I switch off and on again next time?
Great vid mate. I’ve been using the Nox 800 since it was launched. I use all metal 2 tones and it just talks to me! I’m in the mood now to learn another machine now and the Manticore is in my sights! 👍🏻
@@englandshistory .....Toddy is of the same mind from Detecting Scotland. Keep the ferrous limits to a minimum as the deeper targets will pull into that area.....all good stuff and not difficult to grasp. 👍🏻
@@discovermetaldetecting when i watched all the videos previous to getting the manti i thought i was going to dig lots of iron! But i am digging about the same as before really, yes at first i was getting tricked easier but soon sussed the nuances… after the experience i had with the D2 updates i will NOT be rushing to update… ill wait to see how things go for a few weeks… unless you have the option to fully revert back to previous update

Here's the question, thinking about getting a Manticore but very concerned about how this detector handles aluminum versus all the other detectors that are out there. I have an XPD2, and if I were to get the Manticore, do you see any benefit when it comes to aluminum detection? Much appreciated.
Still trying to get the hang of this. You know how when you open it up and it startseeing the coin and it starts bleeding down but not to the centre line. I imagined it might have shown one signal on centre line and one signal in the ferous. How far do you get from the centre line and still dig? Is it as long as its not in the ferous band then dig?

I can’t believe how much easier you explain it. Apologies for my question, as I am very much a noob still. Am I right in saying that sensitivity is all about the depth settings? So you control the depth of the machine by altering your sensitivity ?
If you have sens flat out though you can lose depth as its too sensitive for the ground and you will lose targets because of the noise from minerals etc…

I have seen the update is having issues and will probs need updating again to fix issue… one fella on youtube has said try running silencer on 0… I haven’t updated d2 yet as im not wasting me time until I know they bring one thats good out

Fast and at gen are a great general all round setting as the frequency is mid balanced… when you select low or high your then aiming more towards certain desired targets… ie high conductor for larger more conductive targets and low conductor for the smaller targets… i would only choose low conductor if i really wanted to get the tiny targets as gen is already super sensitive… i would use high conductors of i was on a area when the larger coins or larger artefacts were coming up and felt the need to punch a little deeper
Hello my friend, I look several times your videos and others one from you. I want to ask you, what are the better settings for searching gold jewerly, here in Argentina the most looking for that kind of findings. I am searching general times in lagoons with mineralized sand and salt water. I tested my Manticore with beach low conductives, always find something, but I know I am loosing finds because I dont have the correct configurations. Perhaps you can do a video for that kind of findings. My ferrous limits I work are upper 5 and lower in zero, But I have problems in configuarting sounds, I was using 2 tones but I think is better 4 tones or 5, is that correct? Also I work with recovering speed in 3 or 4, perhaps I have ti try 5 or 6, no? I hope you can help me, regards froma Argentina
In your opinion, how much better percentage wise is the Manticore over the Equinox 900? I’ve seen comparison videos on RU-vid where the recovery speed on targets next to iron is very similar. I like the fact the Equinox 900 comes with 2 coils and the build quality looks much better than the original Equinox. The fancy 2D target ID on the Manticore doesn’t seem that useful for hunting fields, since audio is king. Though I suppose, I could always tape a mini Etch-A-Sketch to the Equinox 900 screen and make myself a poormans Manticore! No seriously, I’d really appreciate your informed opinion percentage wise between both machines.
Raw performance there is little between the 900 and manti but manti has the edge, its the tweakability and features and extra settings that makes the manti a better more powerful machine
great idea with power bank mate. knew you would like the manticore. Just use stock standard modes.all terrain, 5 on target separation, auto ground balance. Even with the trashiest parks, still winkle out coins.
I took the plunge and bought the Manticore, straight out the box it found me 8 silvers on two hunts of hard hit areas ( the only adjustment I made was up the recovery a notch or two). Yes there is a lot to learn with so much fine tuning available.😉🇨🇦
800 is still a beast its a little less open and not as sensitive as the manti, also the feature and loads more settings allow you to adjust to more scenarios when in the field resulting in more finds… a lot of people are asking is it worth the extra money…. 🤔 if you have good land then 100% yes it will help you find more for sure and that one little advantage could make all the difference and get you finds out of reach of the 800… Is it a massive difference in overall Performance.. no..

They should be on ebay. But i just used the standard cable this weekend and it was fine, i have a 10,000 mah powerbank and that lasted all 3 days and still got full battery so a small 6000mah would be more than enough for 1 full day
i was soooo close to spending 2k for this machine until i saw all the vids on how bad it is on depths.not good.cant beat the 800 still best machine by far
The manti is deeper bud, this video wasn’t demonstrating depth just showing the effects iron/minerals has when using ferrous limits and recovery speed… this is the same for ALL machines

Yer was speaking to him last night he needs some tablets sorted they don’t agree with him so going back to doctors today his broken his lugs off his coil so his trying to sort that 👍
