We certainly helped. I don't know about them losing the war without us but without us, logistics would've been a nightmare. They would need to divide their industries for other purposes besides tank production and in the Eastern Front, tanks were very important to counter Hitler's tanks and numbers was one of the T34's strongest assets.
It was pure luck that Zhukov survived Stalin's purges of the Red Army. He, Chuikov and others were far away fighting the Japanese in Manchuria and assisting the Chinese, Tukhachevsky, and many others, werenot so lucky.
In 1941, my father was 20. And he, the naval cadet of Medical Academy, defended Leningrad. In 1941 its armament consisted of Mosin rifle, grenades, Molotov cocktail bottles and paper instructions against German tanks. :) But he was defeated fascism, and he was in Berlin in 1945. So I hate fascism.
Yes, inadequate preparation on Germany's part and Hitler's arrogance. No higher being required. With the highest casualties and destruction taking place on Russian soil, one cannot say there was a higher power influencing anything. One can say that Germany had bitten off more than it could chew. Russia's size and resources both in man and material would be among the deciding factors. With time and a little luck, Russia took any and all punishment Germany dished out.
sloped armour was already known and the tiger was has nothing to do with the t-34. yes it was an important tank but still wasn't a match for a tiger or panther
@June28July My opinion is that a more carefully planned stradegy to invade Russia was consider. It could have been capture. Hitler arrogance was the cause of the destruction of his own army. Thankfully, that happen...jaja..
