My Siemens KTP400 HMI was stuck on the Boot Loader Screen. Here is the fix that worked for me. Links: support.indust... This one worked for me: support.indust... Link for Image Files: support.indust...
For those of you who have a different HMI from the KTP400, I am not a Siemens Product Specialist, so it is best to check directly with Siemens for your particular HMI. The Siemens Support Forum is a phenomenal resource managed by an expert community. This is my go to site for any issue that arises. support.industry.siemens.com/tf/ww/en/threads/243/?page=0&pageSize=10
Thank you, Pete! It's dissapointing that such expensive HMI can have a software bugs without any reason, as you said you uploaded a project. It is very risky to use in responsible processes. Siemens products are very costly and at the same time there are unexplainable problems.
Hi Pete, I have said this before and I will say it again....you are one of the few out there who really does a tutorial and do it for the purpose of teaching others. I was struggling with this same problem for more than 13 hours untill I found your video...and guess what.....problem solved. You´re great and good man. Keep it up. Thanks
Thank you for your video, I had a similar problem with a KTP700, which also was stuck. Thanks to your description I was able to solve that problem fast and smoothly, and my customer got back his display after just one day in service.
Thanks, work for me, need to use a good quality USB 32GB, and need to reset one time because update not started after 3 times press. (after waiting for 5 minutes nothing append)
Here is some news, i recovered about eight devices, every time here is the same process, first black screen about 2 min, then power off/on , then have the recovery screen, tap 3 time on start recovery, but do not start about 1 min, then power off/on, and do it again, and got it .
Hi, I have an HMI KTP 700 but on start up the transfer and settings option not coming it shows only the runtime (start), what could be the problem. Do I need to follow the same steps as you did on this video? Great and very informative
How can I make this work with TP700 Comfort panels, or Comfort panels in general? This device just decided that it doesn't want to boot and show my the "SIMATIC HMI" screen boot logo without allowing ANY sort of communication with the device itself. MPI/Profibus? Nope! Ethernet to reset to factory settings? Forget about it! All that I have left that may work are the USB ports, but unfortunately the solution posted here is for BASIC panels. I tried the exact same procedure, and it didn't work on my TP700 Comfort panel. So a new solution is required for this. PLEASE, I don't want to replace a panel just because of a software bug that Siemens is responsible for!
HI, i have the same problem, I did all instruccions about recovery basic panels 2 generation but didn't works for me. What type of usb stick you used, brand? and is posibble doesn't work because actually HMI have the image version 13.0? Thanks
@@plcsingh9835 Unfortunately, I don't think it does work. I have now the same problem with TP700 Comfort (NOT basic), and I did the exact same steps as the OP in the video, but it didn't work. I still only see "Simatic HMI" logo and nothing else. It doesn't boot to recovery or anything. Is there any chance to find such a recovery method but for Comfort Panels?
Hey Pete, love the videos, very handy for a guy just walking into this world. Do you have or would you consider making a video on the use of Mbits (M10.0) that can be used as a digital "coil" or "relay". My scenario is a 2 pump tank, with 4 float switches. FS 1 turns both pumps off, FS 2 turns on at 25% full, FS 3 turns on at 75% full, while FS 4 indicates full light and an alarm and has a PB acknowledgement for the horn. Operator can silence alarm but indicator turns on. I only have 8 inputs and 8 outputs on my PLC. How do I use the %M10.0 feature? I have been trying to wrap my head around it.. but am a field electrician who isn't used to the computer side of this world! :D
Working on a series of videos that people can purchase... but won't be done for a while. The M10.0 is simply an output. Use either a NC or NO and address it M10.0 whenever M10.0 goes true, these contacts will change state and control whatever you want.
It doesnt work for me :( in damaged HMI nothings happend and in new one device ignore USB stick and lauch OS. Any ideas what could be wrong with this? On new one should be work but it doesnt ;/
I would try the Siemens Forum: support.industry.siemens.com/cs/start?lc=en-US That is where I found the repair for this issue. You'll need to register for a free account in order to ask questions.
