Hi Russell, it needs to be complete to understand all the relationships. First comes the drawing course, then freeform or sheet metal. I will send out a survey to the subscribers.
I'm trying to create my own template in the student version of NX 2312. Unfortunately I still can't and my template still doesn't appear in the drawing templates after restarting NX. I followed all the steps according to your great video and went through the process again several times. So I have a question, is it even possible to save your own template in the student version? Isn't this one of the limitations of the student version? Thank you in advance for your time. Your channel has been a great help to me in my NX journey.
Hello, one more question: I've notice in my NX1899 that if I assign a material to the part before I create a drawing, then the material is correctly visualized in the cell and when I change it in the part, it is changed in the drawing. But, if I don't assign any material before I create a drawing, in the cell there is justthe text and it doesn't change even when I assign a material to the part.
Hi Paolo, while the drawing frame is being loaded, the attributes of the part are linked to the fields of the drawing frame. If there is no attribute, there is no link. 🙁In other words: fill attributes beforehand and if only Test123 is inserted. I think this video will help you: learnnx.com/course-assemblies/b2a-14-2/ regards, Jürgen
Hi An error appears at 38:13: "This file already exists, and you do not have permission to update it." I do not know what is wrong with it. I cannot save it as a template.
At Step 3 you show the creation of folding marks for an A3 size sheet. How can we make this sketch in such a way that is creates the fold marks for all sheet sizes from A3 to A0 in the correct positions?
I don't think it's necessary. I have always folded all sizes with these folding marks. I start at the title block and zigzag fold every 190 mm. Then the second last fold follows to the left-hand edge of the sheet with a distance of 210 mm and the last fold in between.
I have question can we use this template in opened part like its necessary to create new drg file i mean with ctrl+shift+D can we add this template in that So we dont need to make new file is this possible? ❤
Yes and No. Press Ctrl+Shift+D and select Standard Size and A3 as the sheet size. Then click on File, Import, Part, OK and select the drawing frame. Correct the sheet size. Now you will see the drawing frame, but the automatic filling is broken. You have to fill it in manually by double-clicking. And my recommendation is: work with a separate file for the drawing.
@@learnNX I tried this method but came on issue pax file updated successfully I've cross verify it by opening template pax file but it didnt appear in drawing template 🥲
Thank you very much for the clear and complete tutorial. Can the template be used when the drawing is created embedded in the master model .prt file? (3D and DWG in the same file)?
Yes, do all steps as shown, but without the prefix (DB_DWG_TEMPLATE_). Then create a model and switch to the application drafting. Here NX ask for a template (entry at the top: Use Template) You will find the learnNX template in the list.
From a distance, I can only recommend checking all the steps again. The functions have been available since NX 10, the folder structure has changed somewhat since then. The instructions were recorded with NX2206.
