Hello everyone, this tutorial is the eight part of the Siemens Totally Integrated Automation tutorial, in this one we are connecting our HMI to Kepware Kepserver OPC and PLCSim. The HMI is connected to PLCSim through the OPC Server which make us able to exchange data through the server. Hope you like it.

Hi, is it possible to get data from the HMI Recipe and history to a database or OPC server?

You can get it as a variable too, it should be linked to the OPC server just like others

Your instructions are very clean and easy to follow, i have one problem i would love it if you can help me with. I cannot find KEPServerEX OCP server when i try to add a new connection in the HMI section. can you please tell me what am i missing.

Are you using the Wincc RT pro?

@@SurtrTech I am using Wincc RT advanced, i tried it with Pro and the connection to the server fails.. it seems like tia portal can't find the server

@@SurtrTech in the select server area, no kepware server is shown... and when i try to add it manually using endpoint. it says connection fails

@@black3238 Sorry I tried to look but I didn't find any answers, make sure your Kepware kepserver is installed correctly...

@@SurtrTech i tried the same steps on a 2nd pc... It pops up in the opc section in Wincc rt connection window... I used the exact same steps... Could it be that the problem is with the 1st pc ? If yes, do you have any idea what could it be ?

hi hope your doing great, i'm facing a problem when i click on OPC in connections tab no OPC server shows up in local server. i'm using simatic net v8.2 and TIA v11, at least simatic net opc server should show but it doesn't. i dont know if i have to configure something can you please help me out. waiting for your responce. THANKS!!

And no im not using kepserver... but i want to do communictaion with another 3rd party RSlinx OPC server... my problem is any server ( whether its simatic net server or kepserver or any 3rd party server) do not show up under local server when i select OPC in connections.. what could be the problem in your opinion

@@sathermk Sorry, I'm really not sure what could be the problem, make sure your firewall is not blocking any of the programs, and your network device is operating correctly...

@@SurtrTech i already did turned off the firewall and antivirus.. do you think i should configure something before using OPC in my HMI connections coz my problem is no OPC server shows or may be V11 of TIA dosent support .. what version of TIA and simatic net you're using?

@@sathermk I'm using V13, pro version. The server is a Kepserver OPC, all things I did are in the video, no more no less... The only time I had some issues was in a other computer, caused by the network device.
