Siena lies in Tuscany region, about 30 miles (48 km) south of Florence. Siena is the 12th largest city in the region by number of inhabitants, with a population of 53,062 people.
The city is historically linked to commercial and banking activities, having been a major banking center until the 13th and 14th centuries. Siena is also home to the oldest bank in the world, the Monte dei Paschi di Siena, which has been operating continuously since 1472!
A short but incredible immersion in history walking together with the Contrada dell'Oca that was preparing for the Palio that will be held on next July 2nd.
