Love her voice and aesthetic and sound and just her entire vibe. Its old country meets punk maybe...? Like a country street kid if anyone's picking up what im putting down. Whatever it is I love it! Gives me goosebumps every single time. I can not wait to someday see her live. Im in the east coast and too broke to travel post baby, divorce and pandemic. But its on my bucket list and I'll make it happen no matter what ive got to do. Sierra inspired me to pixk up my own guitar after almost 2 years of not touching it and I will forever be grateful to her for that. It all started with "Hey me hey mama" which i then sent round to my entire family and friend group and they fell in love with her too! It restores my faith in our generation that music like this IS INFACT STILL BEING MADE!
She's an absolute treasure. I keep expecting to see her take off as the next big thing in country. Hard to believe the lame stream establishment of country music hasn't got a wiff of her yet.
I think this IS the mainstream, now. The legacy music industry is a dinosaur, and ruins great talent like Sierra. I don’t want to see her chewed up and spit out like old bubble gum.
Hell no. She is anti mainstream. This is traditional old times county. Think Hank Williams Sr. NOT junior, yuck. They are not into septum piercings in mainstream. Thank God. Colter Wall n Tyler Childers etc will never ever cave and go into crap modern country!!!! That isn't even country at all! This is Rooooots!
Yep, I do believe that's true. She can sing well with her musicianship too.. Hope she doesn't catch a tangent & spin out of control or off - direction...
I hope the hooting hollering a holes aren't there so you can actually hear the music and not them. I appreciate the exuberance but have some consideration for the other people who didn't pay to hear you hoot and holler.
Just saw this remarkable woman and her outstanding band in Felton Ca. a couple nights ago, we had a great time! Very fun to see and especially hear them play!!! 😊☮️
Me and my friends ,got up and danced like madmen . we're in a Scottish keiley band ,this is our kind of music, go on girl keep up the the guid sounds , ol the best Lassie from Bonny Scotland xx
I've been trying to get to a show for 3 years. My event schedule either keeps me thousands of miles away, or such a tight timeframe I can't get there. At one point I was close and gifted tickets to a new friend that went and loved the show. Time to check the fall tour schedule.
May I express an opinion? With your permission, please? This curveball, not-a-rhyme bit of lyrics : "...for a garden needs sunshine, a garden needs rain, but my tears are too salty to water the garden..." awfully eloquent. Put your own adjective of high praise in this space: ____________ . Sierra Ferre!! ! btw She seems to always bring a big spirit for her live audiences; she's especially radiant in this video. I''m talkin' 'bout Sierra Ferre!! ! Put the songbird qualities in with the songwriter qualities omg.
Nick, That song reminds me of my Grandmother Nellie Mack, and Methodist hymns like I told Sierra. And I am sure that lady would have washed your mouth out. Although you dig the music
What an amazing unique talent, but at the same time her music is old, in a good way. I mean no disrespect to anyone, only respect, but could she be Hank Williams reincarnated? Listening to Sierra sing and play brings happy tears to my eyes! Authentic, real and beautiful. She’s doing a fine job standing on the shoulders of giants making her way to becoming a giant herself!
I think Sierra knows that there are people who are too broke and too far away to go see her shows and she gives her love. ... Buying her Records would Help her too.
bro whoever that is trynna keep a beat in the crowd does not have an single ounce of rhythm in their body, holy fuck. it would be so hard to play w/ somebody doing that right next to you.
I know exactly what you mean, but it's also apparent to me that she loved it, and absorbed that energy and gave it right back to them. That woman is a powerful artist. Nothing was going to put her off her game that night.
I had the same reaction when I first started watching, but after 30 seconds I was so captivated by the power of her song and presence that I forgot all about it until I read your comment!
