Instant goosebumps with the 1st phrase. what amazing dynamics, timbre and timing from the whole group. She has the voice of an an angel and fingers that most musicians would sell their soul for
This is THE quintessential Sierra Hull set. The virtuosic playing, the range of style, the voice, the demeanor, the chemistry with her band... This is the video I am going to send to people when I am trying to explain my absolute obsession with her artistry.
@@fretfix1 Oh miss me with that nonsense lol. "Girls" is a term of endearment. Stop looking to be offended and enjoy the obvious sentiment of the comment.
After listening to this, i,ve listened to the large musical catalogue of Sierras albums and videos. I,ve enjoyed it all! Sierra is a monster talent and catalyst for change. Thankyou so much for the love and work you have put in. Im sure you are bringing joy to many people, you do for me.. Nice recording, guys from paste
She has what other musicians dream of, and that’s ’Perfection’. The lads around her also make her shine. I would love to see this group tour Ireland, they would be hugely popular. ❤☘️
It amazes me only 6200 people have seen this amazing three song performance. I know I have commented on this before and have viewed it several times since, I cannot believe what a talent Sierra is singing and on mandolin. Her band is also super talented. I would really like to know if Sierra arranges these numbers and how much input the band has. Again, my hat is off to this awesome performance.
Because of this video I went to see her live when she came through Austin. I expected to love the show but was still blown away! She was astounding, not just on mandolin but with the vocals.
A few hundred years ago when I was in my teens the entire family would head outside to the picnic table to play and sing our hearts out into the night. Those were some of the best days of my life. You folks bring it all right back home to me and I want to thank you very much for the music and the wonderful memories. You're all awesome!!!!!
That was an excellent set. The second tune just about set off the fire sprinklers, that mandolin pick’n was hot. Fantastic musicians all around and Sierra has a terrific voice.👍👍🇨🇦
Dang, I've never seen Sierra before...she's FANTASTIC! Her playing, her vocals, and her fun personality. And her band is fantastic too. I love how they are all tuned into each other, keeping it tight, each with their turns to shine.
My God, what an incredibly talented musician Sierra Hull is. Her choices of covers were awesome. Her rendition of Mad World brought me to tears because it is so achingly beautiful. I had to play that twice and before I move on I will probably play it again. I hope she puts this song on one of her records or soon will do so. Her original track is fantastic as well. She is a virtuoso of the Mandolin. So glad the great RU-vid Algorithm brought this video to my feed. She has one talented group of musicians backing her up here, too. PS: I didn't just rewind the video one time, I did three more times. Good lord this lady can play the Mandolin. Her voice is lovely too. The guy playing the fiddle, magnificent work. As they are at the end fading out Mad World, he had this really subtle but beautiful way he played. Sublime awesomeness. Sierra and the band have picked up a new follower.
That second tune shows how she can learn and adapt from the people she plays with. Her touring with Bela Fleck and Cory Wong have had a noticeable affect on her playing and writing and I for one love it.
OMG, this set was amazing. All 3 songs were great, but the cover of Mad World sent shivers up my spine. Sierra should definitely record this IMHO. Many thanks for capturing this for posterity.
This rendition of mad world inspired me to learn the song. I have learned how to sing and play it and at this time I am sending this to my teacher so we may fine tune it.🎶🎶
All 3 songs were great, but I particularly liked the second one where Sierra showed her great skill as a mandolin player. She is up there with the best.
Keep it real...even when those record label / music industry types try to make you fit a mold. You are better, way better than their mold. Honestly, I did not think I would find something like this. Great work.
There's a lot of videos of "Lord, That's A Long Way" but none are as fast as this one. Sierra is the best in the business. We need more records, pronto
Yes, I can attest, it's not the angle. She really is tiny, but very charismatic in person. Great set, her band seems to have a great chemistry and great skill.
I could not listen to this amazing women with commenting. Not only amazing, but such a genuinely sweet, awesome person, one of the greatest mandolin players ever, beautiful voice, and cute as a button. As usual, her playing and her bands playing was spectacular. I can listen to Sierra play all the day long.
I’ve commented on this before but after listening to it many times I’m still floored by Sierra and Mad World. She’s made it her own. She’s inspired. Her final mandolin solo is fantastic. I wonder if she performs it in her present tour with Bela Fleck.
From those of us who simply can't get to these bluegrass festivals, I say THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting these videos. Sierra Hull is a national treasure.
Sierra is amazing. What a talent! I saw her at the last HSB which was a few years ago and she was playing at a smaller stage and her band was amazing. I'm a fan.
