On day 2 of our Sierra ride we head south from Mariposa / Jerseydale stopping in Oakhurst and heading to Bass Lake for an evening welcome ride with the rest of the crew. The plan is to ride Goat Mountain and then head up to camp above the lake to stage for some bigger riding in the coming days. If you are in Oakhurst, be sure to say hello to Mike or Jorge at Pedal Forward to ask about trail conditions. If you are riding in the high country, expect downed trees or creeks that could be difficult to forge earlier in the season. The boys at Pedal Forward are involved with the local trail maintenance crews (shout out to Yosemite South Gate Trail Cooperative) and know what is running good at any given time. They also can be your guides if you are not comfortable using a map.
